Why are you so pressed about Tinashe? It’s okay to support and show love to other artists OTHER than your fave.

  5. HELL NO November 17, 2015

I’m really rooting for her, but I feel like she’s not promoted enough? I mean the song was released weeks ago, so she should have been performing as soon as it was sent to radio, yet she waited until it was on the Bubbling Under chart. I also don’t like the way this song sounds performed, because the dancing is causing her to let her actual vocal ability take the back seat. I’ve watched her perform the National Anthem multiple times and she always knocks it out of the park, but on these fast paced pop songs she never allows people to see her true vocal ability, which causes people to think she’s just another forgettable pretty face. I love the song though, and I hope it rises higher than “2 On” did.

After seeing her tribute Janet, I became a fan, she’s a talented and beautiful girl.

  7. Gurllll November 17, 2015

NOBODY is checking for this chick. Stahhhhpit

  8. Buck November 17, 2015

She is a good singer but her choreography is always wack in my opinion. This song isn’t the best choice for a single either.

  9. iSpeakTruthNoFallacy November 17, 2015

Her performance skills are next level. The way she is able to continually sing while dance at the same time so seamlessly is truly impressive and is honestly 2nd to Beyonce. The only issues with her is one this sing single, as its the worst lead single of all time, and her knock-off Aaliyah branding. I just want to see her win! If there’s room for Selena Gomez, Ellie Goulding, Demi Lovato, and Taylor, then there’s definitely enough room for TINASHE!

I see Mya more than Aaliyah. But yea, she’s great. And she dances WAY better than Bey. Bey knows her range with the singing and dancing (@ss shaking) at the same time. She never been on THIS level.

    • A&R November 18, 2015

My god! You said it well!! She has good vocal control while dancing but she lacks soul and belting ability. However, we can still accept the fact she can sing while dancing and sound good. Can’t say I know of many who can. But yeah, this song is literally taking her back notches. It’s weird bc.. The fact that she does a great job and investing her all in her concepts… It buys her more time but…. Bruh, if she don’t get it together… Ppl will write her off. Like what happened to Mya Ashanti. Her team need to find her music release formula ASAPA! I m not excited about her album or perfomances

  10. 4everBrandy_Ci November 17, 2015

Tinashe isn’t a knock off Aaliyah nor is she! I know for a FACT the Aaliyah comparisons are way exaggerated. I love Tee and her style and I think people are undercover fans. Oh well….. you can’t please everyone! 😉

She shows a lot of potential 2 b 1 of our generation’s best performers.

  12. Pray for the Youth November 17, 2015

I like tinashe, but this song is beyond basic. Performance was good. Her pants hanging off of her “hips…?” like that was really distracting… An eye sore.

Now, I’m glad that she’s able to promote. However, I really wish her label would stop reducing her to talk show performances only and take it up a notch to SNL and other shows of it’s caliber. I just don’t get it. If you really want her to succeed, you’d be giving her that “My Everything” era promotion run with making sure she’s overexposed and everywhere. Keep her dominating all radio formats by securing some clear channel and payola deals. Get these commercials and endorsements running. Make her take some “attention-seeking” photos on instagram to make E! News or something. Have Taylor secure a spot for her on her tour as a special guest. Do ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING to get her name out there to the general public. Her label needs to stop settling for mediocre results and acknowledge that they need to increase their budget for her and actually blow through it to make a new artist like her catch her big break.

    • coolness November 18, 2015

Those are some really lofty requests but you have to remember she is signed to RCA which is a terrible record label for R&B artists. I mean, when veterans such as Usher and Monica find it difficult to promote and release their music, how will a new artist like Tinashe fare better? Legitimately talented Black artists can’t break into mainstream because there’s no money in the industry and labels would rather throw whatever they have to their white counterparts.

Now, I’m glad that she’s able to promote. However, I really wish her label would stop reducing her to talk show performances only and take it up a notch to Saturday Night Live and other shows of it’s caliber. I just don’t get it. There could be a black female hexagon at the top of R&B/pop music right now only if every artists labels marketed and promoted them correctly. It would obviously be Rih, Bey, Nicki, Ci Ci, Tinashe, and Azealia. If that literally was the case, the top 10 would be constantly dominated by these women and blocking every mediocre song from those irrelevant pop artists. Of course, though, Adele would be able to skate through up there of she wanted to.

She has yet to appear on SNL, a major awards show, or even as a special guest on Taylor’s tour. All of these things could help her out a lot. However, since her label continues to miss their queues and hold the promotion budget at an all time minimum, she’s not where she should be by now. She’s a fighter, though, so she’ll demand and capture the go eventually. I just wish that she wasn’t reduced to these late night talk show performances that really won’t help her push a single.

Great Performance! I love Tinashe dope artist I can’t wait for JOYRIDE it’s gonna be an amazing album!

She killed it. She’s really a fully rounded artist.

I don’t care for this song at all but this a cool performance. The way her pants hug her hips is s3xxxy Tho.

Bags of potential this girl has.
Some gems on Aquarius. This song dont quite grab me but if she gives herself a lane of direction to establish her sound before too much experimenting then could be a fruitful run.

  23. Danny Bey November 18, 2015

Idc what no one says. Tinashe is dope af. She give me 1993 Janet teas. She just needs that HUGE game-changing worldwide hit to send her into superstardom. Cuz she has everything else. I’m rooting for her.

  24. Dee Western November 18, 2015

Tinashe is the best new artist out there. Her music does is fresh and exciting. excite me. Her music is so versatile. She is in a class by herself. First and foremost, we all need to give the new artist’ a chance. I’m sure a lot of the artist i.e., Beyonce, Toni B., Melanie F., Destiny Child and Chris Brown did not capture their fans from the beginning. Its basically about marketing in the music industry. Her latest release “All of my Friends” is a truthful collaboration with Chance.

    • coolness November 18, 2015

I agree with you except for Toni Braxton and Chris Brown not capturing their fans at the time when they debuted respectively. Those two were instant crossover R&B successes because their music caught on quickly and they had the backing to be promoted everywhere. Toni’s album went like 5X platinum, produced two top 10 hits and won three Grammys (including Best New Artist). Chris’ first single went to #1, notched an additional three top 10 singles on the chart and went 2X platinum and won a ton of awards. It’s artists like Usher, Destiny’s Child. Janet and Rihanna whose debuts didn’t make much noise but blew up with subsequent albums. Hopefully, something comes along for Tinashe that gives her the proper exposure she rightfully deserves.

  25. Navy Nick November 18, 2015

    She did that!!!!

  26. coolness November 18, 2015

The potential is there as far as her performance ability goes. She has good control of her voice while executing choreography which is as an art within itself. I do feel like her label is stifling her musically because I’ve seen a lot of people who claim to be her fans since the beginning, denounce this single as ‘basic’ and ‘too poppy’. I personally kind of like it but I can see where they’re coming from. Musically, there’s a disconnect between Tinsahe the artist who made the ‘Reverie’, ‘In Case We Die’ and Black Water’ mixtapes and the Tinahse who is signed to a major record label. This has led to some confusion regarding her marketing because when ‘2 On’ blew up, most people just wrote her off as a Cassie 2.0 A.K.A one of the biggest one-hit-wonders of all time. Hopefully, she gets it together before its too late.

  27. #JACKIE November 18, 2015

Y’all overhype this basic ass b****. Nothing special about her at all

  28. Sherrele November 18, 2015

TINASHE, not bad performance, but her style always throw me off.. Her pants half off her behind is nasty. She can sing and dance but she need a better stylist.

  29. JuanDizz November 18, 2015

This new age generation is so pressed on sales & charts, instead of the quality of music. Am I a fan of this song? Not exactly; but I am a fan of Tinashe. Artistry should always be praised (in my opinion), when we’re getting genuine artists. Obviously this girl has to attend to her label by contract, but if you’ve listened to her mixtapes or her “real sound,” she brings something fresh, unique & NON-basic. That’s all.

  30. Jay November 25, 2015

This was definitely a great lip sync. I liked Tinashe, but I’ve come to the conclusion that she really is very basic. Nothing we haven’t seen before. No magic, mediocre vocals, and choreography. No soul. Just a pretty light skinned girl with basic, corny vocals. Another one. But being pretty, light skinned, and able to dance is enough to get anyone far with mediocre pop music.
