The Billboard Hot 100 has not said hello to a new leader in 7 weeks thanks to Adele.
In notching its 7th week atop the tally, her massive comeback single matches the reign of her signature hit ‘Rolling in the Deep’ (her longest run at #1 to date). With just one more week, she’ll not only set a personal best, but she’ll extend her run with the longest time at the top of the chart for any female artist this year.
Elsewhere, on the Billboard 200, there is no stopping the song’s parent album, ’25.’ Predicted to sell a whopping 750,000 more units, the project is not only a sure bet for #1 but will sell over 20 times any new entry set to place on the chart’s top 10 this week (see: August Alsina, R. Kelly, and more). Sitting pretty at 5.19 million sold as of last Friday, if this week’s predicted numbers prove correct, Addy will cross the 6 million threshold in just 4 weeks.
