So, keen to make the most of their A-list support, the mogul has called on them to share exclusive content with the platform to drive their respective fan bases to the service.
Today, he has succeeded in doing just that by joining forces by one of the world’s brightest stars to release an album many will agree has been hotly-anticipated.
Who the mystery artist behind the surprise release is?

Tidal will never succeed. Young people don’t have $20 to give waste every month. Jay-Z & co spectacularly over-estimated the value that their fans put on their material. If urban artists on this platform think their fans are going to be seduced by words such as “exclusive” then I’m afraid they’re sorely mistaken. We must pay for your songs, your CDs, your concerts now this??? I like madonna & beyonce on this tidal, I don’t care much for all the others. If they persist with releasing new material on here before making it public then they had better brace themselves for some very disappointing first week sales. Tidal is not $20 for a basic subscription, and its actually only $5 for a student.
The roll-out of this album is quite interesting…. He’s taken some major risks by allowing Tidal to have a week of exclusivity, by releasing exclusive content on Spotify and by putting music out on his soundcloud. Arguably he is isolating his target audience, But after releasing nearly 40 studio albums and reaching legendary status he can do whatever tf he wants and still WIN… unlike other basic yodelling creatures that can’t get a release date.
