‘Rolling in the Deep’ diva Adele has been simply steamrolling the competition with her latest release ’25.’ And, as Christmas week has proven, she won’t be slowing down any time soon.
As reported here, industry analysts predicted the blockbuster album (which sold over 6 million copies as of the end of its 4th week) would sell an additional million copies its 5th week of availability. Leave it to Addy to not only meet, but exceed the projection.
Threatening to kiss “diamond certification” in less than 8 weeks, find out how many units she shifted below:
’25’s 5th Week Sales: 1.19 Million (SPS)
1.15 million pure album sales
25’s total U.S. album sales, through Dec. 24, now stand at 7.13 million.
Unsurprisingly, 25 also easily earns a fifth straight week at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, with 1.19 million equivalent album units [pure album sales plus streaming].
Reports have it ’25’ has zoomed passed the 12 million sold mark in global sales.
