Watch: Celine Dion Covers Adele’s ‘Hello’

Published: Saturday 2nd Jan 2016 by Sam

At this junction, Adele‘s hyper hit ‘Hello’ has been covered by everyone and their Mama. However, when Celine Dion decides to submit a rendition, folk have no choice but to sit up and pay attention.

The iconic songstress tackled the track at her New Year show in Las Vegas and it certainly made for an interesting listen.

Check it out below…

Clearly some of the lyrics went amiss and the melody lost at points, but overall an intriguing listen.

Celine’s tone remains one of the most distinctive in modern music and a song such ‘Hello’ suits it in earnest.

With two years having passed since her last English album ‘Taking Chances,’ we’d love to see Dion dabble in such a Pop/AC sound on her next LP.

What do you think?!

No Shade but i didn’t really like it.

    • maurice January 2, 2016

She should stick to her own songs, and that’s no shade.
Because all that this proved was that singing other songs from a powerhouse like Adele is not working in her favor. It sounded so off tune.

      • JOHNVIDAL January 2, 2016

She definitely sounded better than if Adele were to try one of Celine´s big ones. That would be an epic fail. adele struggles to sing Skyfall live (oscars), can you imagine MY Heart Will Go On and the likes? 🙂

    Celine….. BYE GIRL!!!!!

  3. eric January 2, 2016

I’m a fan of Celine’s voice and music, but this was not one of her better choices. Joe’s rendition is still the best out there.

  4. gurlbye January 2, 2016

She was out of tune on the verses.

I love Celine but I had an “Oh God” moment the second she went for the “Hellooooooo” part during the chorus!

  8. killian January 2, 2016

    Celine honey…just NO!!!

  13. Christina Aguilera January 2, 2016

This is just awsome. The problem with Celine like all the Divas from the 90s , they all have that melissma tendency… in singing. Nice.

    • What now January 3, 2016

An Xtuna Stan talking about abusing vocal runs? I’ve officially seen it all. KIIIII

  15. Music all the way January 2, 2016

Check your facts guys…. her last album was not taking chances but loved me back to life and taking chances certainly was not released two years ago…it was released in 2007 you idiots.. Your hate for Rihanna has certainly turned you into this Rihanna-obsessed idiots that do not check their facts before writting an article…
As for this cover it was a big fat NO from me

  16. Mother January 2, 2016

    That was horrible

  17. JOHNVIDAL January 2, 2016

All I care about is the next video I´m going to post. Very true to reality LOL Watch it guys!
And and Celine´s last english album was called “Loved me Back to Life”, not “Taking Chances”. It´s great that she´s going to release a new French album this 2016.

  18. Royalkev January 2, 2016

Oh Celine, learn the lyrics lady! Seriously though, she still sounds amazing! It might be a good thing that Celine don’t fully know this song actually, if she did she’d probably take over it with ease.

  19. metzo January 2, 2016

One of my top 5 favorite vocalists of all time, but this was ? bad bad bad.

    • What now January 3, 2016

She’s one of my favs too! I don’t like her English albums, but I’m in love with every French album that she has ever done.

  20. L21480 January 3, 2016

Covering songs by currently “hot” artists young enough to be her daughter isn’t a good look. Adele should be covering Celine songs, not the other way around.

    • Jay_Scorpio_Navy_2005 January 3, 2016

Young or old once a song is popular any artist will cover it and you can see Celine covered the simply because she listens to it not because she rehearse it… Celine and Mariah are vocal perfectionists

  21. Homer January 3, 2016

I like Celine but that performance was unnecessary. And Sam, you’re an imbecile.

  22. Niko Ramos January 5, 2016

Celine Dions last album was ‘Loved Me Back To Life’ released in November 2013 and not ‘Taking Chances.’
