In addition to being anti-traditional campaign, anti-critical acclaim, and anti-charting, the set – in its own way – is proving itself to be anti-failure. That’s right, in the messiness of the “campaign” that is accompanying her latest project, Ri is still finding creative ways to “win.”
After a “surprise” unveiling Wednesday night on Tidal, the album was available for full streaming and eventually gifted to fans for free. In less than 24 hours, not only has its lead single, ‘Work,’ worked its way to the top of iTunes charts, but its parent album has amassed an impressive number of downloads and streams.

Since debuting around 9:45 p.m. ET, the album has been streamed over 13 million times in [less than] 14 hours, Tidal confirmed .
Anti was also downloaded more than 1 million times in 14 hours, according to Tidal, after Rihanna tweeted a promo code for fans to download the album for free. The offer has since expired but Anti is available to purchase on the streaming site.”
Reports have it Tidal has also confirmed ‘Work,’ featuring Drake, and “Kiss It Better” as the project’s most streamed songs.

Kiss It Better is the standout track on the album. Why they went with Work as a single I will never know. The album isn’t bad. If you really sit and listen to the lyrics, it’s pretty cohesive. She’s proclaiming control and independence in most of the songs whether it be in a relationship, s** or her career. I get it. As for the amount of tracks, anything over 15 is overkill IMO. 13 is perfect. Is it a masterpiece? Not at all, solid? Yes.

As if Rihanna’s the first artist to have an album leak. If that’s the case, then why are there so many other artists who’ve had album leaks and have still managed to debut with impressive numbers?? Kendrick Lamar and Beyoncé have both had albums leaked, in beyonce’s case Weeks in advance, and still debuted with sales over 300k. So A leaked album is not proper defense for unfavorable sales, unless you weren’t going to sell well in the first place. Releasing the album for free in response to being leaked indicates insecurity.
I truly feel Rihanna has more plans for “ANTI”. There is no way she released all those hype videos to come back with an LP that has 13 tracks(3 more included; deluxe version) which every song contributes well to the meaning of the title name.

Her best-selling debut week of her career, there’s a huge possibility that ANTi will sell less than that especially with the sales climate we currently have.
