The American Heart Association collected some of the entertainment industry’s best and brightest stars for their annual ‘Go Red For Women Dress Collection’ in New York City this week. Hosted at the Skylight at Moynihan Station, the event courts a number of top-named divas every year, with this year’s highlight coming from Grammy winning R&B diva Monica.
The songstress, a fitting choice as she is still in hot promotion of her latest LP ‘Code Red,’ strutted her stuff to raise awareness for heart disease and stroke among women. Monica really disappointed me with this new album. It should be called Code Blue because it is dead on arrival. Complete trash. Even with a red wig and a cape, she can’t save r&b with that mess.
That’s strange because it’s been getting rave reviews!!!! What i find weird is the main people posting negatively about the album are Brandy fans … Let it go if so. Brandy hasn’t been popping since President Clinton was in office.
That’s so true, most of the negativity does come from Brandy fans, and that’s sad as hell. Anyway Code Red is everything, and Monica’s absolutely stunning.
Let’s be honest here…Brandy is far superior to Monica as far as talent,achievements and popularity. Although I hate to compare the two, you must give credit where credit is due. Brandy is a legend and Monica is a journey – woman in her own right. Both ladies have contributed to r&b in their own ways.
My opinion of Monica’s album has nothing to do with Brandy. I am a fan of both ladies. Monica’s last two albums were trash just like Human was way below Brandy’s standards. Stop trying to start fan wars. Leaving that petty s*** in the 90’s. Monica can and should do better!
BOTH are R&B Legends. Let’s get that clear. Musically, Brandy hasn’t had a successful album since the 90s. Monica on the other hand had the Grammy nominated, Gold selling STILL STANDING which garnered a #1 & #2 R&B hits. Brandy hasn’t had that yet in this new era. 2/11 was her comeback album(which was an amazing album) but it FAILED commercially. What I’m trying to say is, Mo’s last 2 albums might have tanked but Brandy’s last 4 did horribly. & she was dropped from 2 record labels. Not comparing. Just informing.
Monica is NOT A LEGEND. Point blank period. Full Moon was certified platinum and Grammy nominated in 2002. Afrodisiac was certified Gold and Grammy nominated in 2004. What’s this s*** about the 90’s you speak of. I was happy that Monica’s album Still Standing was finally recognized by the Grammy committee because the majority of her work has been ignored except for her duet with Brandy . But that doesnt change the fact that Brandy is more recognized and successful. Just being honest.
Both Monica and Brandy are flops. Monica hasn’t had a cert in 6 years and Brandy over a decade. Monica’s last great album was After The Storm. Brandys last great album was Human.

Just like it’s my opinion that your girl was only successful because of that Moesha show, wish gave her notoriety, because otherwise, she wouldn’t have been as successful at all. I hate all the Brandy vs Monica. But I must Brandy fans make me laugh so hard at the fact that they can’t accept the fact that she isn’t as popular as she wants and as popular as her fans think she is. Afrodisiac = flop (300k) Human = flop (200k) 2/11 FLOP (150k).. So that means her next album will more than likely do 10k. Zoe NEVER after isn’t even a big show for BET which is on the verge on cancelation. But I know for a fact it isn’t coming back next season. And now she’s an Independent artist?! Chiiiiile! Anyways..
