Kanye West is the ego personified. He used to speak with a message, and now he speaks only to praise himself, or to inform people why we should praise him as well.
Furthermore, Taylor’s first album did pretty f****** well– Sold over 5 mill. and had the longest stay on the charts for any debut album within 10 years of its release. Taylor was famous.
If anything, Kanye didn’t jump start her career, but instead Kanye ended his own career.POST 2009, Kanye’s sales and reception have declined significantly. He lost the “art” that made him well received.
