Finally!

As the decade-long wait for a new album from Gwen Stefani draws closer to close, the pop songstress lifts the lid on her newest number ‘Make Me Like You.’

The second tune getting the official single treatment from her new album ‘This Is What the Truth Feels Like’ (due March 18th), the song follows the lukewarm received ‘Used To Love U’ (first official single) and buzz tracks ‘Baby Don’t Lie’ and ‘Spark the Fire.’  Will ‘Make’ be just what Gwen needs to spark interest in her comeback?

Get into it below and tell us:

With it’s flirty, summertime vibe, the tune rings of “classic Gwen.”  But, given the climate of today’s EDM-cloaked radio, if “classic Gwen” is a good or bad thing, time will tell.

We like it but we’re still waiting on that heat, you know, that undeniable hit we know she is more than capable of delivering.  Sadly, from where we stand, ‘Make Me Like You’ ain’t it.

 Your thoughts?

    It’s cute

Nah, EDM has got nothing to do with the fact that this is dated, too cute and she is 45. EDM isn’t even as big as it was a year or two ago.

She doesn’t look 45, the gp will buy this type of image. Plus her fans want nostalgia remember how Baby Don’t Lie semi-flopped because she was following the Benny Blanco trend of the time.

This is good. It’s a good pop single.

Overall, it’s a nice tune. Very safe. Very Gwen. With the right push, it could possibly do extremely well, but as of now, it’s just another pop filler to occupy mainstream radio based off what I hear.

Not bad. I see she still wants to do pop music. She looks like Marilyn on this cover, very cute.

It’s a lot better than Spark the Fire and Used to Love You, I like the song and the cover. It fits perfect with her pre-Voice discography. I don’t know why Rashad is hating? If it flops it’s because she left it too long after too many false starts.

  8. What now February 12, 2016

    She looks so incredible!

Ps. – Gwen is still “timely” with the ongoing rise of the Nu Disco sound

People thought that “Lovefool” song actually was Gwen Stefani and No Doubt in the 90s, so I would say since they are more or less 1 hit wonders, their sound was based upon the pop, punk, ska sounds of No Doubt. Love the song “Lovefool” though and new song is good too.

        Perhaps.

One hit wonder or not… that doesn’t stop someone from ripping the arrangement/feel/structure/sound of a song years later. This is clearly a rip (or as we call it in the publishing world… interpolation)
