Wendy Williams: ‘Rihanna Is Not A Legend…Nor Will She Ever Be’ #ICYMI

Published: Wednesday 24th Feb 2016 by Rashad

‘Queen of All Media’ Wendy Williams reclaims her position atop Rihanna‘s #Navy hitlist after she lent a less than complimentary review of the Grammy winner’s latest #1 single ‘Work’ yesterday.

Working a few nerves in the process, Williams reignited another hot pettifog around Rih’s longevity – an argument, love or loathe her, she’s already silenced in action (see:  11 years of activity, 14 #1 hits, RIAA certifications, etc).  Yet, despite the singer’s storied musical resume, many – like Williams – incite fiery debates by often pitting her against her contemporaries.

Is the comparison fair?  Hear Wendy’s review below and tell us:

SMH this is just going to add fuel to the Bey Vs Rih Stan wars

    • Danyboo February 24, 2016

Saying Rihanna wont be a legend is like saying Madonna will never have another successful tour… b**** please ?⚓ unite b******

      • LmfaoHoe February 24, 2016

Let’s be honest tho. I love the fact Rir did Anti cause it should been done with her other albums persay GGGB, Loud, and Rated R. She should ve focused more the quslity and substance in the first place instead of jumping straight into hit singles. At this point anyone can get a #1 but will ppl remember the s*** in years to come is the question. I love Riri but the only rememberable single she has to offer or at least can perform for years to come is Umbrella, We Found Love, and Diamonds. Everything else is questionable. Where ppl like Mimi, Whitney, Madonna, Bey, Janet, Celine can go back to theirr older hits instead of the newer songs. If ab artists (new comer) hasnt established a quality substance of songs in the beginning of the stage of their careers they won’t last too long. That’s why every blonde head in the pop world could easily be replaced. Ariana another example, can sing but don’t have the material for the future to enjoy.

      • Tricks are for rabbits February 24, 2016

She may not be a legend make but her music up there with the rest of them. Lol numbers don’t lie. Sad Beyoncé not up there but I think she cares more for r performing then putting out quality music anyway. At 70 plus years Tina Turner can get on a mic and sing Proud Mary or what’s love got to do with and it still means something. I don’t want to see Beyoncé shaking her ass at 55 talking bout uh oh uh oh no no. Just no. Beyoncé talented for no reason because her music is s***. And now she drop this formation song and people think it’s a movement. At this point they’re just gasping no at straws. So thirsty for her to put out something with substance. As far as rIhanna goes, media have been talking mess about her for years. The best there acts like Ashanti or Keri couldn’t reach greatness because the Beyoncé standard was so ridIculously serious yet she has become this huge star. Her success is twirling on the haters. Tgj I went through earlier post where you were rooting for Rihanna success but It seems the minute she started getting it and proving to be actual competition for Beyoncé your opinions changed. Just nasty all of the sudden. Why is that Sam?

    • February 24, 2016

i dont like that woman wendy, she is so full of it who is her to be, talking sh!t like that,Rihanna is already an icon in my opinion, and who is wendy are anyone else to say that she will never be a legend, can they see the future. they should leave the woman alone motherf-cking haters.beyonce is already legendary in my opinion though.

  2. Mariah The Legend February 24, 2016

they said the same thing about Madonna.

    • Ciah’s Turtle February 24, 2016

Madonna ain’t a legend either. She’s an Icon.

      • Thetruthemeritus February 24, 2016

Although I agree, being legendary is more noteworthy than being an icon.

  3. metzo February 24, 2016

    Lol.

  4. Grapejuice fan February 24, 2016

I like Wendy but I’m going to have to disagree With her !

  5. Ciah’s Turtle February 24, 2016

I mean ! She’s NOTT! I’ll give her Iconic. but Wendy is upset because Rihanna prolly turned down an Interview.. AGAIN !!

  6. Chase February 24, 2016

One word: hater I believe both Beyonce & Rihanna will die Legends, point blank period…

  7. #justsayn February 24, 2016

Rhi and Bey will both be legends!

  8. YOUR MADGEsty February 24, 2016

Since when has ‘Wendy Williams’ opinion ever held any weight? Aside from what she has said about Rihanna, she has also spoken ill of Beyonce on countless occasions and has been doing so since 2001 at least so what exactly is the point?

    .

Regardless of what anybody thinks, Rihanna is bonfide Pop Icon and has her name written in the history books as one of the most famous women of her era.

    .

Who would have thought that a Black Girl from the island of Barbados, who was born and raised in a tenement yard until the age of 16, would eventually go on to become the “third” solo artist with the most number one singles in Hot 100 chart history and only the second female behind an artist who debuted exactly 15 years before her (Mariah Carey) as well as sell 200+ Million digital records worldwide? Who would have thought she’d become one of the best selling female artists of all time and become the best selling Black female artists of her generation?

    .

No, Rihanna is not a Legend but she is certainly on her way just as much as Beyonce is also on her way to legendary status. We should be proud of and support both Women.

    • Slayyorfav February 24, 2016

Wendy Williams was the first person to call Whitney out after that 2009 Oprah interview saying how she knew Whitney was still getting high and feb 11th 2012 proved that to be true say what u want but the woman can read people well

      • coupe February 24, 2016

    • rosy February 24, 2016

Oh really she sat there on her show and said beyonce is illiterate Wendy is a hating ass bloodclot f****** b**** she trash black women all day on her show this white man licking ass b**** is for nobody she thinks by bashing rih she gets points with the hating ass hives rih,do not, live for what, people think about her she do her own thing they never respect Mariah when she came out they use to compare her to Whitney how Mariah is a fake I remember them not giving her no respect and Mariah could sing worst they hated madonna call her a fluke look at these women today now it’s rih turn and she up there breaking records right behind them I also remember people hated bey too said she cannot sing they release an audio her rehearsal at one time people forget bey got flak for non singing and got caught at Obama inaugural so how in hell people want to say rih cannot sing Whitney crack head ass could not write non of her music every artist is not all that

      • JOHNVIDAL February 25, 2016

        You are retarded my friend.

  10. LB February 24, 2016

And yet her name is among legends. She may not be a legend yet, but eventually she will be. Discredit her all you want.

    • rosy February 24, 2016

I agree they all In their feelings because rih from the island and beating their black American record so they can’t claim her little island Barbados got the credit hate and thirst is so real for this child it’s unbelievable she has god watching over her the said thing the majority of hate comes from her own black people in America I guarantee that island people got this girl back twirl on that she do not need yall hate here

      • Real20 February 24, 2016

It’s has notting to due with her being from the island it’s about real music real singing and real visual but billboard will never allow her to sup pass the Beatles and I’ll be shock if she passes Mariah. And to honest most of her hits are not timeless there very basic.

  11. Mimi February 24, 2016

Rihanna ruined herself by chasing hits and now her catalogue is full of basic s***, her songs are not the kind a 40+ would listen to

    • rosy February 24, 2016

      B**** bye

    • FORMATION IS RHYTHM NATION ’16 (Lana Del Fan) February 24, 2016

And Madge has music a 40+year old would listen to?

  12. Taylor Tori Azalea February 24, 2016

0ooop Biitch didn’t lie not even a bit

  13. T February 24, 2016

I can’t stand Wendell but she is actually right about this one. The navy loves to brag about Rihannas 14 $1.29 #1 singles but most people don’t even remember majority of those #1 songs. Let’s be real here. Do Rihanna stans actually think Rihanna will be able to perform 95% of her catalogue when she’s older? Rihanna herself has said that she’s embarrassed to perform some of her songs. She makes some cute songs for kids for now but that’s about it. Rihanna stans have got to stop trying to make her more than she actually is. Real talk.

    • iSpeakTruthNoFallacy February 24, 2016

I wholeheartedly disagree. Rihanna is still in the peak of her career, therefore there hasn’t been enough time for her music to resonate. Furthermore, ask the average person on the street to name Michael Jackson’s 13 #1 hits; they’re going to say Thriller and maybe a song about a mirror, yet he is the king of all music. From Diamonds, We Found Love to Umbrella, Rihanna has classics that every single person on this earth still know all of the words to this day. Rihanna will be remembered as the artist whose music defined our generation. Sure she has fun songs such as Work and BBHMM, yet she still delivers reflective pieces that are introspective and connect to a wide audience. Now, she is not a legendary performer, yet her music and her being aligns with millennials.

      • T February 24, 2016

I can respect your opinion. I personally don’t think Rihanna has the talent or passion to make music she can perform when she’s older. She tried with 4 5 seconds and got scared when that didn’t do well and went right back to making basic music like work.

      • iSpeakTruthNoFallacy February 24, 2016

Work was a fun song that could commercially lay the platform for the rest of the album. From Love On the Brain, Kiss It Better to Same Ol’ Mistakes, her album is the complete opposite of what you’re saying. Plus, Rihanna also his massive hits, such as Unfaithful, Diamonds, and Stay which again speak to her versatility as her music.

      • LmfaoHoe February 24, 2016

Won’t be able to name a MJ track? My son is only 12, and him and his 7 grade friends are fully aware of MJ tracks – Thriller, Beat It, Bad, Billie Jean, Off The Wall, TWYMF, You are not alone, Man in the mirror, Remember the time, In the closet, Black or White, Scream, Moscow,They Don’t care about us, You Rock my world and let’s not forget Love Never Felt So Good came out last year and was well received by the youth out today.

      • Okayyyy February 24, 2016

@LMFAO is right. I’m sorry but that is a REACH. Everybody and they mama can name all of MJ’s #1’s. And I wouldn’t say millennials, but the generation before, could name all of Mariah’s. And maybe Rihanna will get there, but as of now, her music has not defined our generation. It’s been forgettable. Rihanna’s biggest problem is that she’s Trendy. Rihanna makes music that we bop to for a season and 3 months later we don’t care about anymore. Just last year, she even said it herself. She knows that no one is going to refer back to ‘work’ or ‘SOS’ 20 years from now, like we do the Beatles. You’re a navy, so of course you can name all of her songs and say “oh yeah, Rihanna’s music is the soundtrack of my youth” but you thinking that Diamonds or Umbrella or We Found Love is comparable to MJ’s hits is just absurd.

    • Realtalk February 24, 2016

Rihanna’s #1’s are just like Taylor’s grammies “BOGUS, BOUGHT AND PAID FOR!!!!!
Ri is dope and trendy but moreso lucky than anything and Taylor is a travesty to this generation. You can find better artist on any of the talent search music shows which says it all. One thing about Ri is she is a star personality and she does have a unique tone when recorded but she’s a C- vocalist and performer, Taylor is much worst!!!

      FAKED*

  15. Mimi February 24, 2016

Mariah, Mj, Whitney, Janet and even beyonce all have great songs they can perform in their old age not this w**** who thought number 1s are more important than putting out classic hits

  16. LB February 24, 2016

Rihanna will also go down as one of the best selling female artists of all time, and digital artist of all time in addition to her #1s.

  17. Usual Observer February 24, 2016

Well damn, Auntie Wendy! Lol! Let us know how you really feel! Sad to say, but history has shown that sometimes Wendy’s predictions are right. I guess we’ll all just have to wait and see. But it’s no secret that Bey is a much more celebrated PERFORMER and entertainer than Rihanna. Rihanna has cute songs that ppl like and her songs are what sell her concert tickets tbh whereas ppl spend their coin on a Beyonce EXPERIENCE.

  18. Sweetnothings78 February 24, 2016

    Wendy is a man.

  19. UPGRADEBOY February 24, 2016

Thats it ,number one songs with no substance and impact don’t make you a légend , you know you are gonna be a legend when the whole industry respect you and listen to you everytime you have something to say

    • Blue February 24, 2016

What makea you think the industry doesnt respect her?

  20. Fatusankoh February 24, 2016

Wendy is so right about bey

  21. Cinnamon Girl February 24, 2016

I don’t like Wendy but she is right about that. Legends have extradorinary talent like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, etc. Legends are classy. They are not vulgar. They donot treat their fans like s###. Years from now folks will still be talking about Whitney and Michael and still
be inspired by them. I cannot say the same for Rihanna

    • umm February 24, 2016

beyonce made an entire album, equipped with videos for songs about swallowing hov’s c**, and yet rihanna’s vulgar one?

  22. Blue February 24, 2016

Rihanna is a legend by default of being the biggest personality to emerge the islands in recent memory. In barbados she is a living legend.the rest of the worl will follow. She is constantly breaking record’s and her name will go down in history either way.

  23. YOUR MADGEsty February 24, 2016

    Furthermore…

    – Isn’t this the same Woman who has been speaking ill of Beyonce and Jay-Z’s relationship since day 1?

    – Isn’t this the same woman who dragged Whitney Houston endlessly about her drug allegations and said, and I quote, that “she’s ruined her legacy and now everybody will think of her as another of the many famous druggies”?

    – Isn’t this same woman who has shaded Michael Jackson tirelessly beforehand?

    – Isn’t this the same woman who has practically burnt her bridges with the majority of the famous Black celebrities of the last 20 years?

And now everybody is taking her opinion on Rihanna to be religious doctrine? Please!

    • Cinnamon Girl February 24, 2016

In order to be a legend you have to have substance. RRihanna doesnot have any

      • Blue February 24, 2016

Company ared to who? Name ten mainstream artists wit “substance”.

  24. iSpeakTruthNoFallacy February 24, 2016

Stop comparing Rihanna and Beyonce! They two very different artists. Why must we pit the two dominating black musicians against each other continually. Compare Rihanna’s success to Taylor Swift’s as they are relative to the same age and came out the same time. Beyonce has been in the music industry 10+ years compared to Rihanna, so she may be more well known to Wendy. However, Rihanna’s music is THE soundtrack to the millennial generation as her music crosses all socioeconomic and cultural bounds. Therefore Wendy, contrary to your old ass opinion, Rihanna WILL be a legend

    • Cinnamon Girl February 24, 2016

Please stop. Rihanna males fun of other black musicians so save it

      • iSpeakTruthNoFallacy February 24, 2016

…And your point is? That doesn’t even begin to negate what I said. Plus, Ciara and her feud are the only instance. Stop trying to make sh*t up to hate.

    • killian February 24, 2016

Please I love rihana songs good for a bop or two but wendy is right for these one riri is hot for right now and the worst thing is you all know these

  25. Usual Observer February 24, 2016

Think about the fact that the Formation tour and all of Bey’s tours have sold the way they have WITHOUT her having had a #1 single in years..

    • Blue February 24, 2016

What does that have to do with rihanna, all rihannas tours have so far been sold out, and im anti tour will pick up with a bit of promo too.

  26. LB February 24, 2016

Absolutely anyone, even Sisqo can sell out a tour after a Superbowl performance. Which is why she announced it after and not before.

    • T February 24, 2016

Nice try but she has sold tours even without super bowls or new music. People pay to see beyonce regardless because she is known as the best performer of this generation. Had nothing to do with the super bowl. Most of the people going to this tour have gone to all her other tours as well.

      • LB February 24, 2016

Mrs Carter sold out after Superbowl performance.

Formation sold out after Superbowl performance.

I am world tour did not sell out.

Hence my point still stands, anyone can sell out a tour after a Superbowl performance, even Becky G.

      • T February 24, 2016

Seriously there are tons of artists who have performed at the super bowl and not had their tours sell out. Do u really think people will pay hundreds and thousands of dollars to go see beyonce because of that one performance? Come on now.

      • LB February 24, 2016

        Name one

      • LDN Chick February 24, 2016

@LB you sound extremely pressed. British people do not care about the superbowl YET she sold out Wembley in minuites.

      • LB February 24, 2016

Still waiting for a name who has not sold out a tour after a Superbowl performance.

  27. Jamie February 24, 2016

Rihanna is not a legend. Legends have talent and are artistic. This chick can barely sing, dance, and she doesn’t even play an instrument. Her fans may be legendary but not her.

  28. LB February 24, 2016

Anyway I love it when Rihanna proves the haters wrong. Cannot wait for Rihanna to prove Wendell wrong.

    14 #1s

    Digital artist of all time

One of the highest selling female artists of all time

    • Cinnamon Girl February 24, 2016

She’s still not a legend. Someone else csn break her record. Legends have talento. Rihanna doesn’t. Point blank

      • LB February 24, 2016

She is not a legend now but she will be, like it or not, her name is among legends.

If her record is so easy to break, how come Beyonce hasn’t done it, she releases more singles per era than Rihanna does.

  29. Rihanna February 24, 2016

Rihanna is redefining a legend people. Wendy is bitter

    • Cinnamon Girl February 24, 2016

Sorry but you cannot define legends

      • Rihanna February 24, 2016

Redefining what it takes to be a legend.

  30. HailBeysus February 24, 2016

      • Britney Stan February 24, 2016

From the looks of it no one likes Beys music which is why formation isn’t charting.

    • Blue February 24, 2016

      When was nora’s last album?
Prince? Jazmine and india are mainstream now? Mariah is of a total different era. Notice how none of the people you listed do pop music though or are rihanna’s peers.

  32. Cinnamon Girl February 24, 2016

    @IspeaktruthNoFallacy:
Rihanna has poked fun at Ciara and Teyana Taylor. Where was all this black female solidarity then? She also made fun of a 16 year old fans’ prom outfit. Rihanna is trash. Deal with it

    • Blue February 24, 2016

Was the prom dress really a diss? Cause the twit i read seems like it was meant to be a compliment…maybe im remembering it wrong

      • Cinnamon Girl February 24, 2016

You cannot be this stupid! My goodness. The poor girl made her prom outfit out of one of Rihanna’s outfit and Rihanna made fun of it. The girl was crushed and Rihanna never apologized to her. Rihanna’s a disgusting human being. That’s why she’ll never be a legend

      • Blue February 24, 2016

        What exactly did rihanna say?

    • iSpeakTruthNoFallacy February 24, 2016

Hol up. Both of those girls started first. Teyana started on Twitter, like the jealous person she is, then Ciara talked ill of her on national television. Big difference. Anyways, keep hating with grace

      • Cinnamon Girl February 24, 2016

Oh please stop it. Rihanna had been shading Ciara way before the Fashion Police segmento. Plus Rihanna and Wesley Snipes in Drag Aka made fun of Ciara singing in the bathroom. Your girl Riri is a ratchet no talent tramp. She will never be a legend. Botttom line

    • Britney Stan February 24, 2016

      Fc stop hiding

  33. Mimi February 24, 2016

People won’t pay to watch 50 year old rihanna perform umbrella, rude boy, work, only girl, wfl etc. The older audience aren’t into that kind of basic s*** especially from a no talent ho

    • Blue February 24, 2016

People will forever be here for umbrella, take a bow, unfaithful, diamonds, stay, california king bed…try again

  34. Mimi February 24, 2016

If she’s not even consistent with good live performances at this age imagine how awful she’ll sound 20 years from now

  35. Cinnamon Girl February 24, 2016

@LB, I didnot say her record is east to break. Someone else will come along and break her record. Being a legend is about having talento, substance, making an impacto. Rihanna is just a little bubblegum performer who is only loved by folks who don’t know any better

  36. Britney Stan February 24, 2016

That shade she threw at Moooriah and Tranet tho. Ki

  37. YOUR MADGEsty February 24, 2016

There are several artists from this era who I could argue have more “substance” than both Beyonce put together but what does that matter when they’re not the ones making any impact (whether musically, commercially or culturally) and Beyonce and Rihanna are?

Everybody wants to use the argument that when Rihanna is 50 years old, nobody will want to hea her perform “Bi**h Better Have My Money” or “Rude Boy” but I could also easily argue that many won’t want hear Beyonce perform “Drunk In Love, Bow Down or Yonce” when she is 50 years old too.

    .

The fact is, both Beyonce and Rihanna have songs that are quite tasteless and no true musical or sonic talent to them but that in no way negates the areas in which they do shine and clearly remembered for hence their respective iconic statuses.

    .

They’re both icons of our era, our generation and both will go down in history as legends for different elements brought to the pop music industry during that time.

    .

Nonetheless, both Rihanna and Beyonce are already legends to many people across the world – Rihanna in Barbados and Beyonce to the African-American community. It’s only a matter of time before their both recognized as such on a global, cultural scale.

  38. Cinnamon Girl February 24, 2016

@Blue. My whole point went totally went over your Head. The arists that I listed write their own music, perform good, some of them play an instrument, they have great voices, their songs have substance. Rihanna is just an auto tuned manufactures bubbles gum pop tart

    • Blue February 24, 2016

And only like 3 of the names u listed are on the same level as rihanna on the legend meter

    • Blue Ivy Rod February 24, 2016

You don’t need to write music in order to be a great artist., the hate is unnecessary. Both Beyonce and Rihanna will be legends. Give it up

      • Cinnamon Girl February 24, 2016

But you need to have talent. What is Rihanna’s talent? Smoking the most weed?

      • Blue Ivy Rod February 24, 2016

Talent? Singing is not a talent, almost everybody can SING if that’s the case then almost everybody would be famous and making records. It’s the overall package, what are you singing, the look, the attitude, it’s not just about how well you could rap or sing a song. It’s what separates you from many singers out there and what draws a crowd to you. Get over your surface thinking

  39. jaquala February 24, 2016

Didn’t Wendell trash talk bey about her pregnancy???

    • ??Queen Molly?? February 24, 2016

Notice the hive is silent when you bring that up

    • LDN Chick February 24, 2016

She did. But she still didn’t lie about Rihanna.

      • jaquala February 24, 2016

How bey is more talented than rih singing wise. However rih still has accomplished a whole lot. Mind you she didn’t need a group to jump start her. They both doing good

      • LDN Chick February 24, 2016

How so? All she has is more #1s stop it.

  40. LB February 24, 2016

And who designed that metric of “being a legend”, please provide that peer reviewed study.

    • Cinnamon Girl February 24, 2016

Are you slow? Legends have talent. Rihanna has none. What talent does she have? Yodeling and patting her crotch and smoking weed?

      • LB February 24, 2016

Still waiting for the peer reviewed study of the metric of what makes a legend.

      • Blue February 24, 2016

To me she is extremely talented.

  41. LB February 24, 2016

    @Cinnamon girl

  42. ??Queen Molly?? February 24, 2016

This is why Kanye said old people need to stop putting their input in current music.. These old heads stuck in the 90s and 80s *looks johnvidal*

    • Blue Ivy Rod February 24, 2016

I agree with you, music is such a beautiful thing and there is so many different styles. Just enjoy it and celebrate what you like, expand your palate and get to know different things

  43. LDN Chick February 24, 2016

She didn’t lie. And the Superbowl is only relevant in America yet Beyonce is still slaying the ‘international icons’ Tour internationally as well. Beyonce will always slay Rihanna on Tour because she is a classic talent and people don’t mind spending REAL money on someone who is guaranteed to deliver over a smoke and mirrors artist only good for a fly by night hit.

    • Kourthney February 24, 2016

For everyone who says bey hasn’t had a #1 hit in years remember life is but a dream where she tlk abt chosing what she wanted to do. She could’ve done like every artist and release singles and when they burn out release another but she chose to release a cohesive body of work stop pitting them against each other riri ain’t my fave but she’s doing well and so is bey

  44. Mimi February 24, 2016

The navy shouldn’t even brag about rihanna sitting with REAL LEGENDS when it comes to number one singles and sales because THOSE LEGENDS reached their status using just their talent unlike rihanna who out of the highest selling artists has no talent

      • LDN Chick February 24, 2016

Can you explain why Beyonce managed to sell out Wembly in 10 minuites but anti tour is still on sale here. Because it damn sure aint because of the superbowl which was on at 1am on BBC2 in the UK now is totally irrelevant. But cute attempt…

      • LB February 24, 2016

        Still waiting for that name

      • LDN Chick February 24, 2016

Name for what? Explain your logic please.

      • LB February 24, 2016

The artist who’s tour hasn’t sold out after a superbowl performance.

      • LDN Chick February 24, 2016

I’ve looked it up, and Coldplays tour is still on sale in my places in the US Nice try though!

      • LB February 24, 2016

Have they played your places yet, until they do and it is not 100% sold out, my point still stands.

      • LDN Chick February 24, 2016

Nope you have no point. Ive just proved to you that the superbowl doesn’t automatically guarantee your tour will sell out. Try again and admit that Beyonce is just hugely in demand because, well, shes Beyonce. No smoke mirrors needed to sell a tour.

      • LB February 24, 2016

Have they played your date yet? If no then my point still stands.

If they play it and it is not 100% sold out, then I’ll admit that I am wrong, until then my point stands.

      • LDN Chick February 24, 2016

But Beyonces Tour is sold out already so if that’s down to superbowl, why haven’t coldplay done the same?

      • LB February 24, 2016

A sold out show is a sold out show, whether sold out in 5 minutes or 3 months. As long as the venue is filled, at the date of the show, it is still a sold out show.

You cannot be that simple, not someone from the UK, please no.

      • LDN Chick February 24, 2016

Fine so explain Bruce Springsteen and Katy Perry not having sold out ARENAS after the superbowl.

  45. Blue Ivy Rod February 24, 2016

So that means that Michael Jackson though he could put on a show but cannot sing like a Luther or Brian McKnight shouldn’t deserve his legend status? Janet Jackson or Mariah Carey now who cannot sing like they used to are not legends because they cannot blow? The logic is dumb, voices come in different packages. Some are powerful while others are weak, some catchy while others are more technical. if you have the ambition and your MUSIC is hot then why can’t you become an artist?

    • LDN Chick February 24, 2016

Michael Jackson is the greatest performance of all time. Janet Jackson, although local is an epic performer. Madonnna is also an innovative performer and artist in the eyes of many (not me)
Mariah Carey is the song bird supreme. What is Rihannas stand out talent?

      • Shady81 February 24, 2016

        Janet isn’t local try again.

      • Shady81 February 24, 2016

Oh and Bruce Springsteen does Stadium tours because he’s that high in demand along with U2 and The Rolling Stones he doesn’t need to sell out after any Super bowl his band sells out Regardless. Weather Stadium or Arena and there name one of the top touring acts so you tried it stop trying to shut other artists accomplishments down to boost Beyonce up because it’s pointless.

      • Blue Ivy Rod February 24, 2016

she knows how to brand and make hits. thus why she has 14 number 1s

      • LDN Chick February 28, 2016

So in other words, she does not have a raw musical talent ^^^^

  46. LDN Chick February 24, 2016

So you’ve topped the hot 100 but the album is selling less than 50k. I’m sorry but Rihanna and her fans are a joke for even having the nerve to brag about this embarrassment. Work is an awful song with nothing classic about it.

    • Keri Qween February 24, 2016

Half of your faves discography has been trash starting about three years ago but yourself and the hive- constantly have excuses just like that ghetto mess Formation

      • LDN Chick February 24, 2016

The Grammys and critics disagree with you. And the GP, which is why nobodies purchasing anti.

  47. Mimi February 24, 2016

Truth of the matter is only rihanna’s fans see her as this great artist. Anyone could have had the same success had they been in her place when they picked her, how hard is it to just lend vocals to songs written/produced by the best song writers/producers?

  48. Diabetes unbotheredD February 24, 2016

diabetes unbothered is very upset this evening. I predicted ANTI wuld sell 700k after a whole month out & it barely sells half that! How did Bey sell in 1 day in the us alone more than Anti WORLDWIDE IN A MONTH??? *Throws stateofthearts Crystl Ball in the Trashcan with my Fake Samsung copy of Anti* #BOTHERED!

    • Anti460 February 24, 2016

She GAVE away 1 MILLIONS COPIES FOR FREEEEEEEEEE !

  49. LDN Chick February 24, 2016

Coldplays tour is not completley sold out after Superbowl. Now can you explain your logic.

  50. Mimi February 24, 2016

    The point is?

  51. LB February 24, 2016

Have they played your places yet, until they do and it is not 100% sold out, my point still stands.

  52. Diabetes unbotheredD February 24, 2016

While RIHSCEDULED was busy trying to pass MJ & Madonna & Mariah in #1s Bey was doing it in GRAMMYS & TOURS & #1 Album Debuts. #CARRYON

    • LB February 24, 2016

Except Rihanna will be listed as one of the highest selling female artists of all time.

  53. LDN Chick February 24, 2016

Local Beyonce selling out stadiums internationally faster than international icon Rihanna. Surely this can’t be?

    • Anti460 February 24, 2016

Rihanna did that back in 2013 !!

      • LDN Chick February 24, 2016

        She’s not doing it now

  54. LB February 24, 2016

FYI, selling out a tour is not based on rate, it is based on number of seats filled. So whether you sell out in 1 week or 3 months, as long as the seats are filled before the date is played, it is still a sell out. A sell out is a sell out.

Difficult concept for the hive to grasp, but so are many things, what else is new.

    • LDN Chick February 24, 2016

Oops neither was Bruce Springsteens. Ha!

  55. Diabetes unbotheredD February 24, 2016

    @LooseBowels

WHO is that in yur AVI? He sure aint that Cute for u to be hiding yur real face behind him. Please do better! #JEREMY-MEEKS

  56. Keri Qween February 24, 2016

Wendy is a talk show host she’s good for entertainment nothing more. I’m glad Whitney got Wendell and her broad , linebacker shoulders in order when she was living. Also the hive+ is pathetic talking quality of music . after 4, beyonces music has been subpar, and ratchet ghetto anthems .

  57. LDN Chick February 24, 2016

Fine then since you’re still trying, can you explain why Prismatic Tour wasn’t sold out then either?

  58. LDN Chick February 24, 2016

Bruce Springsteen wasn’t sold out either… its getting too easy.

    • Tyler Makiavelli February 24, 2016

      Oops!

    • Tyler Makiavelli February 24, 2016

      @LooseBowls
The Mrs Carter Shows entire North American tour sold out (with more expensive tickets).
Bruno’s did NOT, after he performed at the half time show.
Beyonce’s tour was still selling… one year after the Super Bowl.
If the Super Bowl is the root to selling out a world tour, then explain why Beyonce’s out grossed Bruno’s……

  59. Mimi February 24, 2016

what good is having even 100 number one singles if you can’t sell out stadiums whilst your latest single is at the top of the charts and you call her a legend seriously

  60. Diabetes unbotheredD February 24, 2016

    @Lying B-astard

U make DIABETES UNBOTHERED very sad. The ammount of consualing u will need after Rih plays her first date to HALF EMPTY (Or half full depending on how u wanna look at it) seats with be sumthing real. I guess i sure start shipping out yur boxes of tissue now. SELLING OUT IN 20 MINUTES is called DEMAND as*shole. It means she could sell out 4 shows IF she wanted to. While Riho wembly gig remains at 33% full. Isnt rih the one that had to turn a stadium into a 17k arena???

  61. HailBeysus February 24, 2016

Yas!!! Y’all betta drag the Gavvvy today!!! I love seeing them scramble and try desperately to come up with excuses for fRihanna only being a singles artist’s kii!!! Yas LDN ya betta clock wrecked buttholes tea ?

  62. Diabetes unbotheredD February 24, 2016

SELF TITLED ONE DAY WW SALES (500+k) >>> ANTI CHRIST full 2 month Ww total im guessing less than #460… K ???? :'(

  63. What now February 24, 2016

Wendy needs to STFU, bc even after 30 years of blabbing about DL rappers, she still isn’t a household name or iconic talk show host. She hasn’t won an award. The Real, Ellen, The Talk, The View, and etc. ALL slay her in celebrity names and ratings. She’ll never be shìt but RuPaul hating a*** brother!

  64. #formlation ?☕ February 24, 2016

I do like rihanna’s music (not her attitude though), but if I’m being unbiased, some of y’all are reaching throwing around this ‘iconic’ title so loosely (like some of y’all legs). I can’t think of any of her videos or songs which are iconic if I’m genuinely honest. Even the ‘umbrella’video was mediocre…

  65. briano 1 February 24, 2016

They just mad that they thought bey was something and she is mostly hype

They fell for it and dont want to admit the obvious

Beyonce sucks and you got played buying into the hype

  66. Tyler Makiavelli February 24, 2016

    @LooseBowls

    Piping hot Tea!

  69. Kermit February 24, 2016

I’m not a fan at all of Wendell but baby she spoke the 100% truth!! We all know rihanna is like a fast food restaurant with her microwaveable hits that will be irrelevant within the next year or 2.

  70. Royalkev February 24, 2016

Wendy is too much! LOL. She walks a fine line between truth and ignorance. People may not like her, but she can hit things on the nail quite accurately sometimes. Even if you want to debate her, you can’t argue the fact that most of those singer’s hit-making days are behind them. At the same time Wendy probably don’t have a clue about how fixed and controlled the singles chart is. If she does, she’s not doing anyone any favors by acting like all it takes is quality music to run up the charts these days. The honest truth is that these suspect Billboard rule changes, ageism and politics (especially at radio) has corrupt the system used to rank these songs.

Anyway, I just see Wendy as an outsider looking in that don’t always know who’s staying on top of their game. She’s stuck in only celebrating an artist peak! Hello, Madonna and Janet both snatched #1 albums this decade. Give credit where it’s due! As far as Rih is concerned, she’s entitled to her opinion on her current status, but there’s no way to determine if Rihanna will make legendary status down the line. Even if you don’t like her material, you can’t deny it’s impact on her fans. She is making her mark. That’s the problem with Wendy, she only want to acknowledge the feats of those artists that she enjoy.

  71. Anti460 February 24, 2016

Rihanna gave anti for free !!! So she doesn’t care about sales , when you all will understand that simple thing !

Rihanna is on her way to become a legend , she already won an Icon award … Beyoncé don’t have it yet !

Rihanna makes tour stadium way Before Bey

Anti tour will be fine , she’s not going to perform with many empty seat

And since her debut people whished her bad thing but she prove them theyre wrong and she will continue .

Beyoncé’s good , Rihanna’s is good why yall like to be so negative

    Kiss from France

  72. RealNegro February 24, 2016

As much as I would like to say Wendy didn’t lie, I think Rihanna will be a legend in the end. She’s still young and in the mist of producing more popular music. It doesn’t mean that horrid Work song will be remembered. How many of Mariah’s 18 numbered ones are remembered. Not many unless your a die hard Mariah fan. Same with the Beatles!

  73. Carry On February 24, 2016

I feel sorry for Rihanna, what did she do? She is getting stomped on like she threw herself out there in peoples’ face and down their throat. Rihanna is not stanky like that, she is just edgy. I’m glad she is not insecure enough to make herself look desperate for fame on what people say about her. Rihanna is that chick. She has nothing to prove. She is too young at her age to think about being redbone, she is too young at her age to keep a man with making relevancy, she is too young at her age to make a comeback from something she didn’t do. WTF! Leave the girl alone, she’s in her own lane, not peeping others.Wendyman is just bitter, spiteful and revengeful.

  74. Thando February 24, 2016

I saw some idiotic comment on here that said “Madonna is not a legend” and it had so many thumbs up which it really does show the quality of brain power of people who comment here what qualifies a legend and when that is answered which of those qualifications does mad not ha in order for her NOT to be considered a legend?

  75. trishna2 February 25, 2016

People used to talk like that about madonna ,God for 30 years…and she is still the biggest. So rihanna is more like madonna.

  76. yesterday was Aaliyah 37birthday to the good music February 25, 2016

Wendy could be right about this but who know

  77. TT February 26, 2016
