Lady GaGa continues to throw her support behind her Pop sibling Kesha (above.)
How? By urging those who doubt the singer’s troubling story to realise that rape within the music industry is extremely common.
Her words below…
Gaga said this is an interview with AMP Radio 97. 1:
Well, I think that people should just know that there’s so much more than what meets the eye in a case like that. And it’s so kind of deceiving when you read about contracts and you read about what people owe each other in terms of power and records. The truth is, I feel like she’s being very publicly shamed for something that happens in the music industry all the time, to women and men. I just want to stand by her side because I can’t watch another woman that went through what I’ve been through suffer, you know? And have everyone have a go at her as if, you know, she’s lying. I mean, I have to say. I talk to her every day. I’m friends with her personally and what I’m watching her go through is not only something I’ve been through, but something that’s really devastating to witness. Somebody that has such a beautiful light within them, so much talent to give. Just to see that light burn out because they feel that no one’s listening to them, I feel that it’s my responsibility to stand up for her when there’s a lot of people that are not listening to her plea for love, for people to have compassion and empathy.

Yup, we absolutely have NO IDEA what many of our favorite artists have sacrificed to be where they are. Many of us like to think their journey is somewhat of a Cinderella story; they start out struggling but their talent and determination keep them going, they then get discovered by someone which leads to the subsequent signing a deal and then ‘BOOM!’, they’re stars. Tbh, I just keep out of it and focus on the music but when stuff like this happens, it lifts the veil to expose what can be a very scary place.
Cinderella and other disney story actually had a different ending and not the “happily ever after” ending.
Why wasn’t she saying this years ago? Funny how all of a sudden she’s best friends with Kesha. Gaga is so desperate for attention its sick

Are you for real? I’m not a lil monster or even a fan of either but Gaga has been talking about this for a while now, even before Kesha’s situation. It unfortunate that ppl like you and Ugg says: would try to throw shade on something like and try to make it seem as though she is selfish….
These men go on raping and drugging these women. Dr. Luke should be in jail. Take every dime he has. Chris Stokes and Marques Houston should be in Jail for molesting Lil Fizz, Omarian, Raz b and countless other boys. It’s just not right. So you have money — that protects you from the Law?

I get it. It’s an issue, but you can’t argue that this is what the idustry does and “it happens all the time” and continue be apart of it. Yea, you sang a song or two about it and you supported someone going through it, but you can’t tell me you aren’t part of the problem because you’re still playing the game as well. You can’t speak out against evil, if you are still willing to play with it.
Kesha & Gaga are better than crusty Dr Luke, and when Kesha gets free from her case (inevitable based off all the support she’s getting) she’ll have the BIGGEST comeback ever. ?

Smh. Messed up. I hate to even think about what a lot of down to earth Artist have to do just to advance their career or even keep the deal they have. Shout out to the artist who worked they ass off to the point they don’t have to have s-e-x or pay someone off to keep their status. That’s not shade by far but those artist have set them selves up for financial Longivity. Which at the end is all that matters.
