Jay-Z‘s Tidal streaming service is making major moves in the African-American music loving community.
Good news for the company and its A-List shareholders below…
Exclusives from Rihanna, Beyonce Nicki Minaj, Madonna and Kanye West pushed its subscriber count to the 3 million users mark recently.
Quite interestingly, findings by Survey Monkey Intelligence found that only 18% of these users were White and that it was performing extremely well within Black and Hispanic communities.
Yes, as the bar chart above reveals, Tidal is the only streaming service that has seen the percentage of its Black subscribers cross the 30% point despite faring poorly with music enthusiasts from “other” racial backgrounds.

When Spotify first put out their paying option, within the first year they had 1 million paid subscribers. Now Tidal after 1 year has managed to accumulate over 2.5 million paid subscribers in 1 year. Tidal is doing just fine.
