Kelly Rowland has had enough.
The Destiny’s Child diva turned solo star is currently on the promotional run for new BET show ‘Chasing Destiny,’ which is naturally what she’s keen to chat about.
Sadly, it’s a memo an interviewer at WGN news didn’t download properly. Because, in the wake of the release of bandmate Beyonce’s new album, most of the questions levied were ‘Lemonade’ flavoured.

Keen to see Kelly take this approach more. For oftentimes she’s been too nice (understandable given that some folk would take anything other than that as shady). But, still, sometime just need to know that you have your own success narrative.
Update: Turns out Ms. Kelly has been shutting down such talk all week.

I believe she knew what direction that interview was going ! He was probably going to go really personal asking about does she know this and know bout jay z this and her feelings towards this and so on! I respect the way she did it.. It wasn’t shady at all

Kelly is beys sister she knew exactly where he was going I’m glad she did. I know Kelly and is as humble as they get but she needs to tell her management to have the interviews ask less DC3 and Beyoncé questions. Like how annoying all the time

I’m glad she shut him down. I’m tired of them always asking her questions about Beyonce when she’s promoting her own accomplishments. I hope this trend continues. You never see them ask Beyonce these questions always Kelly and Michelle.

I applaud Kelly for the way she handled the interviewer. She is a star and should not be getting asked lame questions about Beyonce all the time.
You also have to keep in mind this whole interview was for the Claritin campaign henceforth her background…. They completely ignored the purpose of the interview and she made sure she hit her speaking point…. PURE PROFESSIONALISM

This whole thing sucks, asking kelly about queen B here is pointless since she didnt go there to do so. We understand how everybody loves bey and why all the press peoples likes talking about her,but we should atleast show some love and respect to those people dat deserve it.
Beyonce Is wonderfull and she has a way of capturing people’s heart by just being who she is.even here in Nigeria our people are crazy about her,

Kelly has always lavished Beyonce with praise whenever and wherever the media was waiting. Now she’s doing a show about finding the next big girl group and doesn’t expect Beyonce and DC questions?? Kelly CHOOSES to center her life around Beyonce and DC and expects an interviewer to be more interested in a box of Claritin?? Seriously?

Actually while Letoya has a number one album that went Platinum, Kelly has sold more records. Kelly is yet to have a platinum album, however Kelly is at 30 million records sold to date. Toya isn’t past 7 million worldwide. I love them both but they are far from ‘neck & neck’. Besides Beyonce, Kelly is by far Destiny’s Child most successful member as pointed out by Rolling Stone and Vanity Fair. Not thate need them to tell us. Also of her 5 Grammys, 2 are solo.
I don’t know why people act as though Kelly isn’t a platinum selling artist. She’s sold nearly 30 million records. Obviously she’s had platinum albums and singles over the course of her career. Not to mention the girl is an international superstar. Her Debut album Simply Deep was certified double platinum worldwide. Her sophomore project Ms.Kelly was a slow burn, but it eventually went platinum as well. Her third album Here I Am did not fare as well as the first two, but her single “Motivation” reached platinum status. “When Love Takes Over” was HUGE everywhere but the U.S. and I’m sure “Dilemma”, the first big hit of Kelly’s solo career was a multi-platinum smash. Add that to the fact that Kelly has collaborated with almost everybody in the industry, and one can’t even begin to track how many platinum singles the girl has under her belt. Talk A Good Game was arguably the best album of Kelly’s career, but it was severely under promoted and I don’t even think it went gold, however, it still added to her figures.One platinum album may make you a success, but longevity, branding and multiple streams of revenue are what make you an Icon. This is what Kelly has achieved. Downplaying her success doesn’t negate it. The girl has had a twenty year run. Her DC and solo stats combined amount to almost 100 million records sold. Respect her hustle or not, the girl is still eating real good; along with everyone on her payroll.
Kelly seems like such a sweetheart! I know it must get annoying but handled this with so much class.
I love how she stays classy and isn’t in any sort of mess. I see her a truly happy woman regardless. I especially loved how she shut the interviewer down and brought him back into perspective. No other thing shows professionalism like this.

Kelly wrote and sang When love takes over which was voted the best dance song of all time by Bilboard. That is a lot of success. Motivation is over double platinum. In the Uk she has over 6 top ten hits. Including Work; Like this; Down for whatever; When love takes over; Stole; Dilemma. Most of these were actu number one singles. Not to count Commander, What a feeling. I don’t know what people are talking about when they say she is not a superstar because she definitely is.
