The 28-year-old hit the stage for an impromptu performance of ‘We Found Love’ during Calvin Harris‘ set at the annual festival.
RiRi’s showing comes in the midst of her ‘ANTI World Tour,’ which has received polarizing reviews from both fans and critics alike.

Rihanna did fine. Festival goers didn’t pay to see “her”, they were there for Calvin. And being that she DID stop and perform, in the midst of her own worldwide tour, it added to her vocal and physical stress and strain of performing nearly every night.
The only regret I would have about the performance was that Calvin stuck to the track as it was recorded. That forced Rihanna to sing along to it with no variation, depth, creativity, or vocal prowess – ALL things she adds to the song in her own live performances.
I just saw Rihanna live in Chicago 3 days ago. 4th row seats. She sang in front of me several times during the show. Her vocals were loud, clear, and ON POINT! When she sang “We Found Love” in her remixed mash-up with David Guetta’s “How Deep Is Your Love” it was PHENOMENAL!
And since the ANTI World Tour is very stripped and sleek with visuals, Rihanna’s stage presence and her vocals stood all the way out. There is NOTHING about her ANTI World Tour that is “distracting” from Rihanna in ANY way. If anything, the stage production forces you to focus on her every second of the show. Anything else going on only complements what SHE is doing, adding to it, not distracting away from it. So if anyone is thinking THIS is the Rihanna you’ll see on tour, you’re SADLY mistaken!
What this performance DOES remind me of is Rihanna’s other impromptu performance at Fife Fest with Kanye West. She was in the audience and ended up onstage with Kanye singing hooks on their collabs. Just like at Fife Fest, her Coachella pop-up is a cool surprise that a bunch of raving, night-owl, boozers & pill poppers will appreciate. It wasn’t supposed to be fancy, just fun. And from the reaction of the crowd, Taylor Swift, and Calvin Harris, it was just that – FUN!
Well said!! I went to her show in d.c. People claim she is smoke and mirrors, but the tour is actually very simple. All focus is on her. And yes my favorite vocal showing from the tour is live on the brain. I prefer the live version.

Her presence along with her vocal ability is something truly spectacular. When I saw her in Miami, I was beyond impressed, especially when she gave me chills when she sang Love On the Brain. The ANTI Tour proves that Rihanna is in a completely different lane of her own. Furthermore, it shows that she will most definitely be a legend as it showed that she is indeed the last rockstar.
