He may have lost his grip on the Hot 100’s top spot, but Grammy-winning rapper Drake is still enjoying the ‘Views’ from the top of the Billboard 200 despite a whopping 79% sales drop in the second full week of the album’s availability.
Indeed, fending off the likes of ‘Mine’ co-star Beyonce and more, the Toronto-born beau’s massive drop was still substantially more than his competition could move.
Billboard reports:
Views earned another 313,000 equivalent album units in the week ending May 12, according to Nielsen Music (with 175,000 of that in pure album sales. Views tallied a 70 percent decline in units compared to its debut frame a week ago (1.04 million units), while its sales collapsed by 79 percent (falling from 852,000 to 175,000).

On another Drake has never had an album to outsell Beyoncé domestically or worldwide… Beyoncé is currently racking up 5 million on average on her Formation tour. Beyonce is not in competition with Drake nor Rihanna. She’s spent more weeks at #1 than Rihanna and Drake over the span of her career. I don’t think she’s too worried about Drake spending his second week at #1, she’s seen that spot for much longer than 2 weeks.
None of drake’s albums have outsold 4 WW (Bey’s lowest selling album) and only one of them have outsold 4 in the US. Lemonade is 200k sales behind Views WW and about 200k behind in the US. If you dont think think Lemonade will outsell Views WW you are very delusional.
P.S.: it will most likely outsell it in the US and most likely will reclaim the #1 spot the week after Ariana Grande’s release (despite Two Harmony’s release).
The good thing is he’s already platinum, so at this point, he could start working on the next album if he wanted.
