For some, seven signifies perfection. And with Maxwell having not released an album in as many years, the hope is that his latest LP will deliver.

Set for a July 1st release, ‘blackSUMMERS’night’ is the sequel to 2009’s ‘BLACKsummers’night’ and is preceded by exquisite lead single ‘Lake By The Ocean.’

To ensure the LP makes a splash upon its arrival, the soulful crooner will headline the 2016 Essence Music Festival in New Orleans. He also announced today that he’ll be taking to the stage at the 2016 BET Awards on June 26th.

  2. Hur May 26, 2016

His music is always great. Just like Sade.

    • LmfaoHoe May 26, 2016

Omg the last time he released his album back in 2009, Sade released her album Soldier of Love in 2010. God I am praying Sade is cooking up another album for next year. I’ve been having Love Deluxe on repeat lately.

Reminded me of FutureSex/LoveSounds at first glance by Justin Timberlake

I actually thought it was JT.

  4. Coolness May 26, 2016

One of my favorite male voices ever! I was just listening to Embrya earlier today and it still sounds fresh. Gravity (Pushing To Pull) slays. Anyway, I’m so looking forward to this new project and upcoming performances from this era.

Man I been waiting so long for this. That last album was classic. Great vocal ability, no scandals, great writer and he’s a legend.

Let me tell yall what yall about to see in the comments before yall even scroll further:

Gay men who wish maxwell was gay or calling him a “queen” a “she” because they’re attracted to him

    Someone calling him a flop

White people who know nothing of him or his music but giving their opinions anyway

Negativity in general arguing about either Beyoncé sales or some other artist that has nothing to do with maxwell.

Maxwell better come thru on a Prince tribute. Either him Miguel or D’Angelo, anyone to salvage that horrid Madge tribute…ugh. Looking forward to the album but I don’t think he can top urban hang suite or now.

    • Danzou May 26, 2016

White people never come thru for tributes. Just wait until the soul train and the BET awardts. Black people are about to show the hell out.

    • What Now May 26, 2016

I agree. Madonna is my ultimate pop diva and Queen, but I was so disappointed in her decision to perform. I thought she was going to do what she did for MJ (say a speech) and then let other perform. It was very underwhelming to watch.

Underwhelming ain’t the word for it lol
