Janet Jackson soared to chart glory with ‘Unbreakable’ – her first album in seven years.
The ‘No Sleeep’ led set arrived last October and debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200.
Still, the “era” hasn’t been entirely smooth sailing. Indeed, despite spawning a successful tour, several dates had to be postponed – first due to ill health and later due to the star’s reported pregnancy.
It’s led some to ponder whether Jackson will embark on another music project.
Fret not, because in the latest issue of Emirates Magazine (which she covers and poses for), the singer’s longtime producer and friend Jimmy Jam promises that’s there’s more magic to come.

Speaking to the publication, he said:
“We can definitely expect more albums from Janet. I say that because of how much fun we had making Unbreakable. Going into it, we knew what we were setting up to try to do, which was to make a great album that spoke to her friends, her family and her fans. And I think we were able to do that. But I think we really felt in our hearts that there’s still more music and more lyrics and more things that we wanna do.
That said, Janet is also very much into acting, into Broadway plays and really all types of creative things so you may see her do a whole lot of different things and really kind of mixing the different medias which is something she does really well. I’m excited about the future for her, but definitely would hope to be in the studio making some new music very soon.”
Great to hear.
Perhaps ‘Unbreakable’ will be to Janet what ‘Charmbracelet’ was to Mariah – the critically praised calm before the ‘Emancipating’ storm.
We certainly hope so; Janet’s 2016 brand evokes an air of sophistication, mystique, and unquestionable quality. Above all, as evidenced by ‘Dammn Baby,’ she’s still an impeccable performer. All traits which have us salivating for more.
Time will tell how her next chapter plays out.
For now, watch a behind the scenes look at the Emirates shoot below…
KEEP IT!!!!!!
Stop it!!
But u came here first lol
she’s not making them FOR YOU
Yes, Ms. Janet! Keep the music coming and let the awards and accolades build up, queen! Don’t take too long again, though. Those 5+ year breaks KILL ME!

Yes I need more Janet music!!!
HASHTAG: #IamLIVING 😀
Janet is bout to get 85 I do not see her getting a emancipation
Is she serious? It’s beyond obvious now that no one’s been interested in her music in years. Releasing back to back albums that flop and giving lame excuses for backing out of failing tours makes her look bad. Retire woman. Know when to go out gracefully.
The funny thing is her albums is more relevant then your life and other artists since her control album
And Janet said it’s not about sales it’s about being heard so she already legendary and rich she done it all then all your faves wish they did
POLLING says you’re a dumb B I T C H
Janet has nothing to prove anymore. She has sold out STADIUMS worldwide, multi platinum albums and sales, and hit #1 records. These young queens kill me. Always want to pull out some stat. Pull out your fav artist statistics against hers. Oh wait, they most likely don’t match up. Smh
Take your time Queen and spend time with your family you deserve it.
LOL Bye.
Where are all of her stans that said she was going to come and snatch wigs last year?
Janet is clearly just having a good time. I don’t know why anyone tries to hold pop legends up to these standards – like they’re Katy Perry or Rihanna. Come on! She’s beyond successful and just making music and touring for her fans. Give it a rest, geeze.
@kPOP Guy : They are repairing your wig B I T C H
This is where stanning becomes plain sad. Is Sam serious with ‘Emancipation’ analogy? Janet can keep on releasing music for the rest of her life, but the commercial comeback ship has sailed.
I’ll always give Janet & Mariah chances no matter what!!! Them my girls #Whitneyvoice
#respect
She will stay inspiring ur favs n u will deal
Your fave’s fave.
Ya’ll noooot going to come in this post to beat up on a good slayful Jackson! Allow your fav to get their weight up first, before spewing the unwarranted disrespect!
Janet’s sold 100 million ALBUMS (not records), has 7 #1 albums (within 4 decades), have 10 #1’s (27 top 10’s), was the #2 artist of the 90’s decade (with only 4.5 albums contributing), owns the record for the biggest debut tour, is the first artist to have #1’s in the 80s, 90s and 00s… and this list of achievements goes on and on! What does she have to prove? What are ya’ll crazy b****** doing? Too damn much! Janet’s f****** 50! Ease up on that delusional s***. If she only scores gold albums (after a real promoted era) that’s a huge accomplishment for someone that earned their first #1 in EVERYTHING, 30 years ago! Put so damn respeck on it, ok! Many people still feel Janet’s making better music than a lot of these artists with these generic pop singles. You don’t have to be here for it, but many are! Deal!
100 million albums?? Where?
Get real. Janet is over and has been years. There will be no comebacks.
Get lost… Janet aint going no where but you can
Yes!! Bring it ooooooon Janet!!!! I’d love to see her all up in the media! I also would love to see her rock a evolution of her “Damita Jo era look” I loved that era and all of her interviews that era too. She looked gorgeous as alwaya but she was really Doing it Big that era despite other stuff.
Janet has nothing to prove. But still I wanna hear good music from her. As much as I loved No Sleeep and Damnn Baby, I hated the Unbreakable album. I know she’s pretty much banned from mainstream radio but I’d still like to hear more radio friendly music next go round.
You clearly aren’t a MUSICHEAD if you hated the Unbreakable album. I love No Sleeep and Dammn Baby, but they one sounds like classic Janet and the other is very commercial. That album is very eclectic and for adults who are very eclectic.
She can keep every one of those albums if it comes with more empty promises and cancellations.
More Janet music hooray !
I love how she looks perfect just like her pictures photoshop? where?, Janet is a beautiful woman! God put her here for a reason and thats to spread love through her music, which she she has done effortlessly. I doubt she cares what anybody thinks of her, she has a loving husband, family and fans that does and that makes up for the hate. She looks sooo happy and I’m happy for her.
#flawless .
Please MORE SOON, Like Before 2017
She’ll continue to flop.
Like your faves
Janet will be 65 with her last hit being over 30 years ago and her delusional stans will still be acting like a huge commercial comeback is around the corner. Every time she puts out a new album they posture beforehand that it’ll be the one that returns her to prominence, then it comes out and does worse than the last one. She’s basically an older version of Ciara.
People saying that Janet can’t make a comeback are wrong.
Cher was 43 when she released Turn Back Time.
Tina Turner was 44 when she released Private Dancer
And finally Madonna was 46 when Confesssions was released.
All three came after one or more albums that didn’t perform well and the media had already written them off.
The real question is does Janet have the drive to do it or not. I personally think she’s too lazy to bother…
Apples and oranges. Janet is now 50, older than all of those examples you listed. And many of them either hadn’t been flopping for long, or had just underperformed with their previous album. “If I Could Turn Back Time” was actually the last of a few hits Cher had had during that period where she had had become an Oscar-winning actress. The reason IFCTBT became such a hit was because her overall career was hot at the time. Tina’s comeback was an anomaly. And Madonna’s had only flopped with American Life prior to Confessions. None those examples you mentioned had had a dry spell as long as Janet has had now. Not even Tina. It’s easy to bounce back after one or two poor selling albums, but Janet hasn’t had a successful album in 15 years. Who bounces back at over 50 after nearly 2 decades of cold reception?
I agree with what you’re saying about the length of Janet’s dry spell in comparison to the others but she’s only a few years older than they all were at their comebacks so I don’t feel that’s an issue.
Regarding Cher I confused IICTCT with Believe which is the expample I meant to cite. It was released when she was 52 and prior to that she had had two underperforming albums so I don’t think it’s impossible to say that Janet can’t come back using that as an example. She needs the right team, material and image. Most importantly she needs the drive which I think she’s lacked for a long time – hence why every comeback effort has been so half arsed.
Madonna flop in rebel and was considered a trash album all Janet albums is more relevant then Madonna albums
Nice
Janet has been blocked for years from performing. well. Those later albums all had great songs but she was banned and despite requests from fans radio refused to play her. It’s a disgrace how she has been treated. She hasn’t changed the music industry changed. She continues to do what she does and doesn’t copy what others do. If anything they copy her.
With all this Janet still has managed to set records that have yet to broken. That can’t be denied. I’m always happy for new Janet. It pisses me off that white radio won’t play her. Black radio still supports her though. It’s like now Janet is in this small box and is fed to small audiences only. She hasn’t done 1 interview for this album on any talk show or media so considering the album has done ok.
7 number 1 Billboard pop albums! #NuffSaid
