Kelly Rowland and Frank Gatson had viewers hooked each week their BET talent search ‘Chasing Destiny.’
The end result of that journey saw the birth of Epic Records‘ newest girl-group June’s Diary.
Now, a month on from the season finale, fans have started a petition in hope’s of the show’s return.
There’s no official word on whether it’s received a pick-up, yet both Rowland and Gatson have expressed their desire to use a second cycle to create a male ensemble. A point the rally hopes to bring to fruition.

Now that season one is over and we have our talented R&B girl group, June’s Diary, formed and rising to the top, it’s time to see what the males have up their sleeves.
When I think about big and iconic R&B girl groups of the past like En Vogue, SWV, and Destiny’s Child, I can’t help but to think about the great R&B male groups like Boyz 2 Men, New Edition, Soul For Real, and Jodeci as well. In a time where real R&B is becoming more and more non-existent, we need to quickly make moves to get them back. We need to get back to a time where music had meaningful messages. A time where there were groups and they represented brotherhood and sisterhood, respect and love. It’s time to make a male R&B group.
Over the past couple of weeks since Chasing Destiny ended, I’ve seen so many males all over social media begging for a season 2, asking about auditions, ready and eager to share their craft.
These males are driven, passionate, and hungry to help bring R&B back, just like the ladies of June’s Diary. BET Network, please allow Kelly and Frank to create a season 2 of Chasing Destiny.
With the mentorship of Kelly and Frank, we can have two R&B groups impacting a generation that is in desperate need of seeing artists that convey diversity and love for one another. The females were given a chance to follow their dreams. Please give these males a chance to follow theirs. Hopefully, one day, we can say that we love and support June’s Diary AND __________. There is no such thing as too much real R&B. We need it and it will have an impact. Thank you, BET.

Yasssss we need a new black boy group
No shade… I don’t see it for them. They had two chances to get it right and still haven’t got it right. They tried it with that first single lance. They need to go back to the drawing board. It’s too many girls in the group, cut it down to 4 or 3.
theyre a brand new group. let them get a chance and try to figure out their direction. Fifth Harmony wasn’t a big group until their debut album and didnt even really get big til this last album.
Yesss! That would be great! We definitely need a male R&B group right now and also Kelly and Frank has done and are continuing to do a GREAT job with June’s Diary. Then hopefully season three can show us the behind the scenes for both groups kinda like MTB.

It’s not too many girls in the group. It’s the material they choose to release and how the group is branded. The problem with with Lance was the acapella . In the video had nothing refreshing either. The song is good though. They just need to hustle and pay their dues. No one gets it easy these days especially when you are black. I will continue to support them because IMO they are way better than fifth no harmony.

They need to make groups sign agreements that they won’t break apart. Number 1 reason why groups don’t last
I’d rather see another search for a girl group. We have a vocal-based group now with ‘June’s Diary’, but I still want a performance/style-driven girl group like ‘TLC’.
But the thing about it is… the group isn’t even that hot… I mean the only reason ppl know about them is the show.. Be honest if they had come from no where and released the single NO ONE would be checking for them…. So I really think that they need to work on some quality music and brand themselves better because I see them as a reality star group not a music group

The ratings for this show were awful, so S2 would be a waste of an investment.

I am curious to know what exactly Kelly is planning on doing for that one white girl that she promised to make a group around.
All of BETs ratings are awful, it’s like no one not even Black pple are tuning in to the shows! But they will not pull the plug on the Network soo they’ve got keep it moving bring back the second season!!!
I guess y’all really don’t care about the ART and CULTURE. If June’s Diary isn’t “it” then WHO is? Y’all are not making the effort to support and see the bigger picture. They’re just getting started and there’s a thing called having a PROCESS when it boils down to getting your name out in the audience. Y’all are not there for June’s Diary then I don’t know what else is going to happen in order to make sure black talented artists get their voices heard. June’s Diary has what it takes and for the ones that are so caught up in the “if’s” “and”s” and “but’s” need to stop it because these talented women really determined to get themselves out there. The issue is y’all are the MAIN negative petty folk that don’t support your OWN and when the results show for example albums sales, promotion, and mainstream attention, y’all don’t do your part and just call these artists “flops”. At the end of the day I want for these ladies to succeed and make an IMPACT on this generation. They’ll be fine! #ISupportJune’sDiary
I didn’t watch the show and the music I have heard is subpar. A shame you wouldn’t think it would be hard with the music. Selecting members should have been the hard part.
