As reported here, ‘Full Moon’ maestra Brandy is moving full speed ahead refiling suit against Chameleon Entertainment (her recordhome) and its president, Breyon Prescott, who – according to her – is refusing to release her from the “unfair” contract she’s signed with them.
Taking to Billboard, B-Rocka revealed:
“I’m as free as a bird in my mind,” Brandy tells Billboard. “But on paper, it looks like I’m a slave. And I’m not a slave. The kind of deal I’m signed to should be criminal to any artist.”
While time will tell if the Grammy winning diva will win her suit seeking over $270,000 from damages allegedly incurred during her time on the label, one thing is certain – she is losing the favor of Prescott and co. as they took to TMZ recently to clap back at her ‘slavery’ allegations.

Brandy‘s recordjust clapped back, saying the singer has no business comparing her contract to slavery … since it’s been more than a decade since she dropped a hit.
A rep for Chameleon Entertainment CEO Breyon Prescott tells TMZ … Brandy’s allegations are a desperate ploy to drum up publicity instead of facing facts — her best days are behind her. The rep says Breyon took a risk “signing an artist that hasn’t had a chart single success since the early 2000’s.”
Chameleon’s rep also believes Brandy made a bonehead PR move by making the slavery comparison due to racial tensions across the country right now.
While it should be noted ‘Right Here (Departed)’ and ‘Put It Down,’ the first releases from her last two albums, both earned Hot 100 placements (#34 and #65 respectively), Brandy and co. have since clapped back stating, in so many words, that if she is as “washed up” as they imply then they shouldn’t have any problem releasing her from the contract.
As of time reporting, Chameleon has not responded.
