It may have been a decade since model-with-a-mic Cassie scored her last hit, but if recent news she shared with E! News is any indication, she is on the road to making sure her list of hits gets a new entry before year 11 rolls around.
Indeed, more than 3 years since her critically acclaimed mixtape ‘RockAByeBaby,’ the vocal-less has revealed she’s been hard at work with famed producer Detail to craft her comeback.
“I did a lot of records with Detail,” she explained. “We have a single coming up called ‘Makeup,’ which I think the ladies are gonna love…coming soon.”

As if her forthcoming single isn’t enough to appease fans, they can also catch her in the third installment of the ‘Honey’ film franchise. It will be available September 6th for your viewing pleasure.
When people say Rihanna is only here because of her looks, I’ll show you Cassie. Cass first (and only) hot came out a year after Rihanna’s first hit and look at the distance of the two music careers. Just think, Ciara was the leader of the new girls about that time. But that’s another story.
One thing honey is it doesnt work like that cuz while Rihanna kept grinding HARD for her life, Cassie started getting involved with Diddy and couldn’t care less about her career or releasing music. Me & U alone warranted Cassie to put out at least another album in the following years, even if it ended up flopping hard we’ll never know now, and yet she did nothing at ALL besides a few singles that were barely promoted and half shaving her head a few years later.

Cassie’s RockAByeBaby mixtape was pure fire, don’t play her like that! That mixtape was better than the albums these new R&B girls have been putting out and that’s tea. Cassie is the definition of a model with a mic but honestly, she makes good urban music so why hate? Sure she has no business being behind a mic but you don’t need vocals to make a solid record. Would I pay to see her live? Hell no. But did I download her mixtape and purchase her album back in the day? Of course.

OMG, where did all the time go because Cassie just recently turned 30?! I loved her debut. It was such a pretty collection of Urban/Pop jams and was filler-free. Now, do I expect anything more from her other than releasing a new album with accompanying visuals to slay my life? Nope because like Slayty said, she has no business being behind a mic in a LIVE setting (y’all remember that infamous Me & U performance on 106 & Park?). Anyway, I would like to see what she brings to the table with this Honey 3 flick. She actually looks a lot like Jessica Alba did in 2003 when the first one came out.
