Lady Gaga broke the internet yesterday with the surprise announcement of her comeback single ‘Perfect Illusion.’

Despite only the title and release month being seeded, the track trended quite literally all day.

Secrecy encases the cut, which is due in September, yet details have begun to trickle out.

Full story below…

Prior to posting on social media, the 30-year-old assembled staff at powerful media giant iHeartRadio to play them the song.

Confirming that it was produced by ‘Uptown Funk’ maestro Mark Ronson and Tame Impala‘s Kevin Parker, iHeart said the following about the track:

“Perfect Illusion” finds a sweet space in Mother Monster’s catalogue alongside some of her best dance floor anthems. It’s a cut that touches the highest of highs and lowest of lows in a relationship gone wrong, thus, the perfect illusion.”

Gaga, herself, told the audience:

“The song is about modern ecstasy . . . . We found our sweet, simple, ragey way of saying it.”

Recalling the sunlight bursting through the trees in the window as the song was recorded, she added:

“I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it.” {Source}

Since Gaga is notorious for labeling her projects as the “album of the decade” I’ll reserve full judgment till i hear it for myself!

    • Ughhh August 18, 2016

Lmao this heffa gets way too much hype for only having three albums; one of them of which was a complete and utter mess. She is highly overrated and way too self-righteous. Her gimmicks and outlandish costumes built her attention and her overplayed chorus driven singles aren’t as artistic and musically profound as her fans and her, herself think they actually are. Gaga receives so much privilege credit it’s not even funny. You all are waiting for a single that she has spent way too much time on to make it “artistic” that it won’t resonate with the audience. Your expecting some “Beyoncé” up to par illusion but will receive some Elton John mixed with Bon Jovi delusion because this b**** thinks she is a legend without the work.

      • Jon August 18, 2016

Stay salty! LOL and “Your (It’s actually you’re) expecting some “Beyoncé” up to par illusion” HA! That girl needs a team of 30 people just to write a chorus that repeats the words “who runs the world…girls.” Beyonce is just an entertainer…not an artist. As I said…stay salty!

      • Ughhh August 18, 2016

I never said Beyoncé was an artist, but what she does do is deliver a good track. Gaga tries too hard and fails, so maybe she should get a team of 30 to help her ass out

      • Jon August 18, 2016

LOL “but what she does do is deliver a good track. Gaga tries too hard and fails”

REALLY?!? Where exactly did she fail? Name one single on The Fame that failed. Name one single on The Fame Monster that failed. Name one single on BTW that failed. Even ARTPOP, which wasn’t her best-selling album, STILL had successful singles. Applause…one of her highest selling singles AND was #1. Do you even know what you’re talking about? Even Gaga’s worst album still outsold all her contemporaries. Her only baseline for success is matching HER previous work. Come again?

      • Ughhh August 18, 2016

What singles in Art Pop were successful? That Applause bullshît? Girl bye! You’re a fan cool. I’m not hating. I clearly just stated that I don’t understand the hype.

      • Jon August 18, 2016

No comment about all those other albums, huh? Exactly, salty! You got nothing! And ARTPOP only had two singles. The first, Applause, debuted at #1 with 258,000 sales and is currently at 4.5 million! Just for comparison, Beyonce’s Drunk in Love (from the same year as Applause) is only at 3.5 million in sales. COME AGAIN Salty? That seems pretty successful to me.

Gaga has 14 #1 singles and she’s only been around since 2008. Try again. EVEN Gaga’s worst album was STILL #1 and sold 2.3 million copies that year world-wide. Know what you’re talking about before trashing on her. Her WORST album still surpasses her competition and don’t even try to compare her other albums.

      • Jon August 18, 2016

Lol “I’m not hating” but I’ll call her a heffer and state that she’s unable to deliver a good track like Beyoncé…even though she has 14 #1 tracks in only 8 years.

Get your facts straight and stay salty…GIRL BYE!

  2. #JACKIE August 18, 2016

    Gaga has come to SLAY

  3. S****** Blonde August 18, 2016

She just can’t talk about her music without making a poem, modern ecstasy, just say that it’s about a complicated love relationship, and just wait till she shares details of her new album, I can already imagine her description.

It’s a philosophy of life, once that transmit energy to our souls, the end of the sorrows, you are a Phoenix, flying to your dreams, living the magic.

    • Ughhh August 18, 2016

      Dead! ??? I can’t stand her lmao

    • JOHNVIDAL August 18, 2016

      S******
You said only a few weeks ago you were absolutely not interested in her, that you didn´t even feel HATE anymore. Doesn´t look like it mate. You sure are in every single post about her. You´re areal fan. Get over what Madonna said like 4 years ago and enjoy talent again. It got old a long time ago. I perfectly remember you saying born This Way was Gaga´s best album to date… until Madonna spoke. Just get over it. I´m sure you have enjoyed all Gaga´s Jazz showings 🙂 Hell you seem to always know what is going on with her even her private life. Something i don´t know anything about, never. You´re the real fan here. Much love mate! 🙂

    QUEEN GAGA returns!

  5. Barb-wire August 18, 2016

Gaga isn’t Queen of anything. If she was Queen (like the Queen of rap) she wouldn’t have let a basic c*unt like Katy who makes kiddies music end her the way she did. No one bought Artpop, what makes her think anyone will be buying this upcoming disaster?

    • Apple August 18, 2016

And nobody bought the pinkprint so your point is what exactly?

      • Ayyseify August 18, 2016

        Kii

  6. Queen Barb August 18, 2016

This song will flop harder than Milf Money.

  7. OQRAM August 18, 2016

Gaga sucks ass. Her music is garbage and her shtick is always stupid. I can’t wait to NOT listen to this…

  8. LB August 18, 2016

Another dance song, girl can you do anything else. Anyway it better slay for your sake, good luck.

  9. Linda August 18, 2016

    hahaha…
It’s sad when this page always bring down other artists and praise boring Beyonce.
The fact is, If you can see clearly, Beyonce keep dancing same moves for over a decade and none of her songs iconic except single ladies and crazy in love.

Now I know why TGJ readers going downhill. 😀

    • KVH August 18, 2016

Um, you’re hear too sweetheart. Don’t pretend that you aren’t a participant. Online hypocrites, how they contradict themselves.

  10. iSpeakTruthNoFallacy August 18, 2016

Uh oh this sh*t might actually be good! She’s got Kevin Parker production on it. For those who don’t know, Kevin Parker is the frontman and genius behind Tame Impala who also wrote and produced Same Ol’ Mistakes by Rihanna that originally appeared on Tame’s album Currents.

  11. FASHION_ICON ~ Anti&Lemonade August 18, 2016

She said the same for applause right ? Saying that it would change the Music ? And actually getting naked in the wood doing weird things …
Not her vma performance saved her
Not having a girl who throw on her saved her either
Not hiring C*** or whathever helped her and open her p**** in her cover art create controversy .
Yes Gaga can sing, can play piano but she’s not different than any pop girl.
Not the girl with a meat dress
It’s the controversy and trash that build her career .
Yet people are praising her like she is the most talented female artist.please bye
Everybody sound good with piano even Rihanna.

  12. Dem Lessers August 18, 2016

Mark Ronson produced it! Already killed my vibe, I absolutely HATE Uptown Funk with a passion. Her arty fatty pretentiousness is already annoying me, thought she’d try to be a little more humble after what happened in 2013. Hopefully the music will be bring back what she lost but I won’t get my hopes up.

  13. BeyKnowlesBest August 18, 2016

I’m not gone lie gaga is the ONLY white chick that I genuinely live for in music right now!!!

  14. The Kpop Guy, Matt~ August 18, 2016

gaga please stop talking before release dates, talk AFTER!
hell, maybe even do a beyonce and surprise release. as a huge fan, i gotta clock you for your big ass mouth

  15. MusicLife August 18, 2016

She has been very reductive in the past.
    ?
I will wait till I here it, and it better not sound like a past song from the 80s or 90s or “UF!”

  16. Frmluz August 19, 2016

I remember when born this way came out and she called it the greatest pop record of our generation. When I heard it I thought what is this clunky sh*t. Don’t even get me started on the reverse warholian experience that was artpop. I mean what does that even mean. I hope this time around Gaga just lets the music speak for itself.
