Usher is promoting new movie ‘Hands of Stone,’ in which he plays boxer Sugar Ray Leonard. However, music remains at the forefront of the stage blazer’s mind.

Four years have passed since he released an album (‘Looking 4 Myself’) and the time in-between has only brought with it a number of false starts.

Now, with ‘No Limit’ scaling the R&B and Mainstream charts, it appears the LP (said to be titled ‘Flawed’) may finally be set to dance into stores.

During an interview with V103 in Atlanta today, the 37-year-old didn’t shy away when questioned on the long-awaited LP.

Head below where details on collaboration and producers await…

Speaking to hosts Ryan and Wanda, Ush stressed the importance of evolving with the times; joking that “there ain’t nothing worse than going to the club, having a good time, and not hearing any of your own music.”

He added that he has whittled down the songs for the project and just completed the tracklist.

When quizzed on who he worked with, he confirmed that there are “a lot of collaborations” and specifically cited Ty Dolla $ign, The-Dream, and Theron Thomas from Rock City.

Per various social media posts he’s shared, the crooner also logged in studio time with ‘Confessions’ maestro Jermaine Dupri; although no word on whether songs from those sessions made the cut.

Optimistic about his album, the Grammy winner concluded by re-affirming that his team are presently piecing together the launch campaign and that they are definitely set to “pull the trigger” this year.

LIKE Mariah carey, he forgets he has an incredible voice. He makes urban songs that don’t chart well. The vocals on “confessions” were perfect. the song writing was top notch. GO BACK TO your FORMULA usher.

    • Bruh Man ? August 17, 2016

No Limit just reached top 40 with minimal promo as did I Don’t mind reached #11 on the Hot 100 last year. So move from that dumb 2004 mentality

      • Kae August 17, 2016

        Well spoken Lisa

    • ? August 17, 2016

What the hell was well spoken about that?

      • Kae August 17, 2016

Shut up hood rat and go do something positive with your busted life #F AG

    • Coolness August 17, 2016

Yeah, he doesn’t seem to forget that he has this great instrument when he’s performing live (that is without sounding a winded mess whilst trying to also do Tae-Bo on stage, lmao) or when he’s guesting on another artist’s track (see New Flame, Crush, The Matrimony or on De La Soul’s Greyhounds). I got really nervous when he mentioned feeling weird when you’re in a club and not hearing your music because it’s quite clear he’s still very much in the ‘I want a hit right now’ mindset instead of making truly timeless music.

  2. Fancy BISH August 17, 2016

The Dream? He better get Poo Bear, Benny Blanco, Jimmy & Terry, Mark Ronson, Jeff Bhasker, Pharrell and Ed Sheeran in there…along with Jermaine, Manuel Seal and Bryan C**! Ty Dolla? Was Drake having a sick day? And let Mariah pen something! He’ll be the male Ciara if The Dream produced multiple songs! I can’t! lol

    • Foxx August 20, 2016

He works with Pharrell for every album…he did “She Came To Give It To You”. Obviously that didn’t chart well.

  3. Meteorite August 17, 2016

You know what irritates me about these veteran artists, is that they keep forgetting that they are veterans. They are the ones who paved the way for this newer generation and yet they keep trying to stay on par with the younger generation instead of just doing music that made them well, veterans.

    • Fancy BISH August 17, 2016

Bruno, Ed Sheeran and The Weeknd are making and penning songs that Usher should be paying attention to! Songs that feel REAL and soulful…the FACT that Ed Sheeran’s songs are sounding more soulful than Usher’s as of late? How Sway? lol

      • Foxx August 20, 2016

Honestly, if Usher had a song like Ed Sheeran, The Weeknd or Bruno, I’m sure it wouldn’t be as popular as their own music. Those are all younger artists who have come up in the digital age, so their following is instantly stronger than the following of most of these older artists. Why do you think Usher’s trendy songs get more love than his soulful songs? Because when it comes to today’s generation, it has to be about what’s relevant. But since younger artists are already relevant and relatable to the youth, it doesn’t matter what music they make because their age boosts their exposure.

      • Foxx August 20, 2016

If you guys want Usher to make more “quality” music. Buy the music that represents that quality. Don’t sit around when he’s trying to give you a taste of the filet mignon, but when he gives y’all a big Mac, y’all wanna complain and still eat it. If you want Usher to remain relevant, let him cater to the masses, because Usher always delivers when you want some real R&B. If you’ve listened to his albums, you’d know what I mean. Usher is trying to get a big hit out there so he has stronger promotion for his album. He’s damn near 3 decades in the game, let the man create what he wants because at the end of the day, his albums always has something for everyone to enjoy.

    • BEYSTAN_ SINCE 1997 August 17, 2016

You have to remember they don’t view themselves, success, relevance, or status they was us fans see them. Most artist, actors, athletes usually strive to be the best and the ones who have achieved “Usher” type success it becomes addictive & always a great source of self validation. That would explain why these (Icons, legends, and trailblazers like Usher, Mariah, & Madonna) find themselves doing juvenile songs or following fads to keep up. I do agree though Usher should be doing whatever he wants a instead of taking Chris Brown reject demos!

      • Fancy BISH August 17, 2016

        The truth!

  4. RihYonce August 17, 2016

I’m definitely ready for new Usher music he’s my favorite male singer EVER. I hope he does keep his new music current but also keep the essence of old usher in his new music . No limit & Crash a good songs I hope the songs on the album are even better & showcase his vocals because he’s an incredible singer

  5. Kitteneyez August 17, 2016

Hope I don’t Mind Good Kisser No Limit on Flawed

    • 2bad2bme August 17, 2016

Too long ago. Those were just his test records

  6. 2bad2bme August 17, 2016

Usher, You have a solid fan base already. Quit neglecting us to make new fans, when the new fans are not checking for you and your old fans don’t hear the real you anymore so it’s like a lose, lose. Reason why Beyonce is still hot it’s because she never neglected her main fan base. So WE pass her down to the next generation so they can get hip to movement! 1+1=2

    • Fancy BISH August 17, 2016

      The truth! Yaaas!

    • ? August 17, 2016

What?! Lmaoo No Limit is already moving up the charts and is already being overplayed on radio. Beyoncé is relevant but don’t you DARE count Usher out just because he doesn’t appeal to you his new video is one of the hottest out right now already reaching over 10 million . These young kids are checking for him the NO limit video went viral online and if they weren’t nobody would’ve gave a f*** about him . They even stated “Usher knows how to stay relevant in every generation”. These are facts and on top of that when he makes real R&B music y’all don’t support but when he make Pop or Trap records they go #1.

      • 2bad2bme August 17, 2016

You need to chill cuz his last few albums and singles have been flops

    • Coolness August 18, 2016

Your avi >>>> That’s one of Bey’s best televised performances! I agree with everything you said about Usher. He needs to sit down and have a long talk with Bey about how to evolve as an artist without leaving original fans behind. He’s been friends with ha for years so it can be done.

    • Rosicky August 23, 2016

Ur all stupid. Usher does NOT have a loyal fan base. There has been no loyal fans since Usher got married in 08. Beyonce has a f****** hive….they are loyal. They are open to diversity. Her new album is diverse and the singles are NOT R&B. Sorry ain’t to No Limit. Usher has a fanbase who can’t move on from Confessions. They rejected Here I Stand (grown R&B) because of his wife, rejected Raymond V Raymond (Grammy winner) because of OMG, rejected Looking 4 Myslef (vocally acclaimed) because of Scream….pathetic. When he’s trendy songs are a success, and his R&B work isn’t…that’s down to fans. He wouldn’t make resortations if they supported/recognisee it. Not rocket science.

  7. Music all the way August 17, 2016

Didnt he make a song with Yuna called crush??
Where were this so-called Usher Rnb hardcore fans when this song flopped???
Yall are the sole reason why these veterans always have to resort to making this bubble gums that they make because you dont support their more muture songs…

    • LmfaoHoe August 17, 2016

I love that song Usher sounded so great on that track. im praying Ush sounds like thst or serves vocals.

  8. ???????Chile, take this “Itty Bitty Piggy” to the market and make sure you hold her hand while crossing the street!??????? August 17, 2016

I’m sure he’ll call up Mr. Guetta for a few pop songs on the album, but I’m fine with it as long as there’s a balance.

  9. The Kpop Guy, Matt~ August 17, 2016

    Bye. Gimme confessions

    • ? August 17, 2016

    I’m ready!!

  13. Ty August 17, 2016

If he plays his cards right no limit could be a hit no one saw coming. I love usher so will always support him

  14. Coolness August 17, 2016

Chile, lemme be nice and just say Usher is fine as hell. He’s somehow gotten s*xier and better looking with age. As for his new music… I just want vocals. Tis all.

  15. Edwin tumelo August 17, 2016

Am sorry to say this but the problem is not with our artists it’s with our generation we nolonger support real music anymore all we want are this fluff two seconds luck Wark ish I dnt even think they should be called music.i mean just look at the current artists we hv rapper’s that don’t spit any bars and singers that cnt even hold a note if their life’s dependet on it and those are the very artists we support and celebrate so u tell me how are the true vocalists and my gonna shine like we are never gonna hv any mariah and Whitney of our generation as long as we keep supporting fluff Adel is all we gonna hv for vocalist that is truly our generation vocalist cz there are non besides in this era period

  16. Jason August 17, 2016

This project will go in the “Wait and see if it’s worth my money” section. Like new material coming from Gaga, Alicia Keys, Britney, and Katy Perry. All of their last albums were iffy or just a mess (Artpop, Britney Jean) COME HARDER!

    • Jackx August 17, 2016

      Britney Jean was so underrated.
      My favorite Britney album

  17. Theman August 18, 2016

Usher/Mariah make amazing music. R&b radio doesn’t play r&b music. How many times does that have to be stated.. Usher appeals to multiple demographics. And making versatile music that doesn’t sound dated doesn’t mean that you’re chasing hits. He’s being a contemporary artist.

    • Rosicky August 23, 2016

      Thank you.

  18. Theman August 18, 2016

Stop complaining if you ain’t going to purchase the music anyway.

    • Jason August 18, 2016

I always buy the Whole album! I’m the guy that was at the store when it opened to buy a cd. I just want quality, not trends.

  19. s.a August 18, 2016

looks like more ‘No Limit’ type songs r on the way. Yesterday i was listening to usher DOT.COM track(lyrics were aweful) but the music was great and i felt like usher has totally forgotten to make s*** and sultry songs like this & ‘can you handle it’ from confessions. He should work with robin thicke. the “s*** time” is totally lost. Now its “Trap Crap”.

    • Lake Erie August 18, 2016

Trap is definitely out here tough.

    • Nicole Slaysinger >>>> ci-error August 23, 2016

Trap needs to die already. It was cool when it was just hip hop, but when it started messing with r&b it became annoying. Usher just a trend follower. He’ll do whatever is hot. Just like how he jumped on the whole crunk thing. Then crunk died, and Usher didn’t know what he should do. He should be a real artist like Johnny Gill or Brian MckNight and just do his own thing, not jump on whatever is “hot!” Proof that an amazing voice doesn’t make you an amazing artist.

  20. john bieber August 18, 2016

its 2016 not 2004, if usher was still singing like 2004 he would be in the background like avant, joe tank etc. Not thats theres anything wrong with that but you have to move with the times

    • s.a August 19, 2016

no one is asking him to make another confessions album all we want is quality usher songs that he used to make which would get you in the mood.

    • Nicole Slaysinger >>>> ci-error August 23, 2016

And the funny thing is Joe’s music is amazing! Better than anything from usher when you compare their most recent music. Joe has one of the most consistent discographies in r&b. Usher…not so much. It’s funny how that good music, Joe, Johnny Gill, Brian McKnight, Babyface, doesn’t get much attention, but this generic “I c mur-mur-murder that” is what everybody loves now. Every time that song comes on it’s just like why Usher

      • Noah August 24, 2016

Ur pretty stupid because ur forgetting basics. Usher is an entertainer. He’s work is predominantly up-tempo, which he then balances out with a few ballads. He was never strictly a soul singer, ur just attached to that side of his artistry, making ur criticism extremely narrow minded.

  21. ow Reddish tran ivy blobukz Need UK timely Ukuyiji August 18, 2016

Nice and would Love to see him act in some movie role

  22. Nicole Slaysinger >>>> ci-error August 23, 2016

I’m ready for new Usher, but also good Usher! Not liking this no limit mainstream trash. Usher has an amazing voice, but in that song he’s on a young thug level. It’s funny how similar they both sound in that sound, it’s like anybody could’ve sang that song! And then there’s the cringe-worthy lyrics, “give you that master p, no limit”, “I c mur-m-murder that”, wow! The remix was even less entertaining! One big snooze fest! Referencing Master P like Master P is the most popular thing today that everyone is talking about hahaha. Master P ain’t been relevant since the 90’s lol! So cheesy and boring! Ush better bring it!
