On the critical front Britney Spears‘ 9th album, ‘Glory,’ has certainly lived up to its titling.  Hailed by many as her best work since 2007’s groundbreaking, ‘Blackout,’ the album has certainly earned its share of glorious reviews from industry insiders and music lovers alike.

Sadly – even with a fair promotional schedule that’s seen her tackle print, radio, and television – that fanfare has not been reflected commercially.  Moving a moderate 111,000 SPS its first week, the album was blocked from the top spot by legendary diva Barbra Streisand and country group Florida Georgia Line.  But, if fans were disheartened by those first week figures, second week is singing an even worse song for the ‘Baby One More Time’ singer.

With a whopping 87% drop in sales, Spears made a beeline right out of the top 10 in just the second full week of the set’s full availability.  Keen to know where she landed on this week’s refreshed chart?

Tuck in below to find out:

I actually like the album and Brits a legend so…… Anti has so much longevity it better win a Grammy.

    • FC/JC September 18, 2016

      Femme Fatale is better!

  2. Jay September 17, 2016

Ooops she did it again! Well at this point i just hope shes making music for whats left of her fans!

  3. Jay September 17, 2016

Lemonade is doin pretty well too since shes only on one streaming service and based on Pure Sales!

    • Lea September 17, 2016

No it’s not lil girl don’t even try it!

      • Jay September 17, 2016

LEMONADE IS doin GREAT ..simple as that .. still outselling your favs regardless the chart positions! Lets not talk about Anti’s fake double platinum tho!

      • Annalise September 18, 2016

@PeaBrain FLOPti is one position above it you dumass, let’s not act like it’s lightyears ahead when it’s sold 1 Million less in pure sales worldwide. If Lemonade is on it’s way it then so is FLOPti.

  4. Lea September 17, 2016

If you’re going to speak on chart positions, lets speak on the rise of Anti and fall of your queens Lemonade! And don’t get me started on that Blond mess. His ugly a** dropped a few spot as well I see!

    • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler September 18, 2016

Can we talk about how Lemonade sold waaay more than Anti in PURE SALES this past week? Ohh, wait! You don’t wanna talk about that huh?

      • Lea September 18, 2016

Guh, sit down. It’s still on it’s way out of the top 10, bye!

      • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler September 18, 2016

Yet its still selling more. You sound dumb af!

      • Jay September 18, 2016

They dont wanna hear that or comprehend it lol

      • Lea September 18, 2016

Gul bye, I said what I said! Your so called queen’s album is trash and her lack of number one singles proves it. Sales you say? Child please call me when she stop stealing other artists work, or let alone graduates high school!

      • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler September 18, 2016

Lol huh? B**** Rihanna didn’t even finish high school, she’s a drop out. Omg you irritate my f****** soul.

      • I HATE HATERS September 18, 2016

You two are so dumb fighting each other over who got more sales…Pathetic

    • HailLegendBeysus September 18, 2016

But why is Whóréanna’s 8 month old album doing about 1k more than Halsey’s 13 month old Badlands album???? An album that didn’t have no major hit and is a debut for an alternative artists. The slavi stayed trying Rosie because of Badlands sales and now it looks like badlands will be outselling it ????!!! Let’s talk about that! Okay! ?☕

      • Yellow DiamondsI September 18, 2016

Your bow and arrow ass is dumb af!

  5. J September 17, 2016

Y’all still pretending “Femme Fatale” never happened huh lol

    • Danny Bey September 18, 2016

What was wrong with Femme Fatale? It sold over 700k, more than Flopney Jean.

      • J September 18, 2016

Nothing’s wrong with it. That Grape Juice doesn’t ever talk about it. Britney Jean is irrelevant

    • Slaylor Swift September 18, 2016

What songs were on that CD?

  6. Slaylor Swift September 17, 2016

I forgot Frank had an album out like it made no impact can’t tell you one song off the CD.

  7. FC/JC September 18, 2016

Why do people completely forget about Femme Fatale… that was one of her best (come back) projects. I just don’t get it, That’s my fav album right after Blackout.
Anyway, this was expected, Glory was a s*** album over hyped to the Gods by these tacky stans.

And ADELE I SEE YOU! Shes stamping her footprint in history!

  8. truthtea September 18, 2016

These delusional Britney fans always have some kind of excuse!

  9. Jay Jay September 18, 2016

Anti and Lemondade are doing great! Rih definitely turned the Anti era around.

But let’s be real and no shade, if Lemonade was on Apple Music and Spotify, it would be higher than Anti.

Regardless, both women are doing well in their own lane.

    • Annalise September 18, 2016

      Preach Dijonay!

    • Datredd23 September 18, 2016

If it were available on all streaming formats then pure sales would be lower correct?? Lol so how exactly is Lemonade doing better then Anti? Lol

      • BEY>RIH September 18, 2016

It has SOLD way more than Anti that is exactly how it is doing better. Her pure sales would be the same if her album was on streaming sites because she has a base that purchase albums and would stream albums and with sps she would probably be in the top 4.

      • Girl September 19, 2016

Exactly what those idiots don’t understand the only reason why lemonade have a lot of pure sales is because that’s the only way you can listen to it besides tidal, if it was available in all streaming services the pure sales would be lower because why buy something when you can get it for free dumbass. And Rihanna is not tripping about making money off the album because she got 25 million upfront from Samsung. So she wins

  10. Sharp September 18, 2016

I think it’s a combination of things. Most of this newer generation isn’t checking for Britney and the fan base that grew up with her have more than likely out grown her. Plus thus album wasn’t exactly all that. Sure they’re were a couple good tracks but it was by no means a head banger from start to finish.

  11. JluvI September 18, 2016

I don’t care if she sells 1 copy or 150,000 copies she will always be my favorite artist we live in a generation where album sales matter more than the music

    • Dem Lessers September 18, 2016

The beginning of this comment speaks to me and most Britney fans!

  12. Jon September 18, 2016

Britney is at an time in her career where numbers don’t matter, she can sell out a venue in minutes… F*** record sales!

  13. Meteorite September 18, 2016

I think Britney and Usher face the same issue, which is that neither one of the them has grown with their fan base. They both seem to be chasing trends now where as they used to be the ones setting them.

    • XYZ September 18, 2016

Ehm….Britney is by far in a better position than Usher. And her album is a really good pop album. One of the best this year – solely speaking for pop albums. Her fanbase is another one than usher’s. What she is missing is a Game changing album that represents her and that is honest. She always runs around interviews and saying how she is totally different from her songs. And as much as I like Glory, I would like to have an honest album from her. The last time I had the feeling that an album perfectly suits her situation was with blackout.

Usher Problem is that he did not mature one bit and records songs that Are far beneath his status and vocal abilities. He’s in his late thirties and drops an album that sounds like Chris Brown and trey songz leftovers. It’s a shame as he is one of the few artists whose voice became better with age. His aim should be to release something classic with a current twist, like mariah did with emancipation. Unfortunately he chose the route of jumping in cheap beats

  16. FASHION_ICON ~ Anti&Lemonade September 18, 2016

Rihanna after that giveaway still in the top ten
Rihanna after 8 month still in the top ten
Rihanna still sell in pure sales surpassing other that came out after her
    1500 streams = 1 album that means a lot
Rihanna make her money and do what she want as an artist
B**** she’s kind of winning after all.

    • HailLegendBeysus September 18, 2016

Well lets hope all those streams, touring, puma sales and 9262727 business deals is enough for her to top Forbes next year. I mean the Slavi said she is the BIGGEST music brand around. So surely come next year she should slay the girls with ease since she stays getting paid. ?☕

      • FASHION_ICON ~ Anti&Lemonade September 18, 2016

Lol she have a big brand yes but her “client” are not wide enough for her to top a forbes list imo.
I am a fan but the truth is the truth.
Beyonce will most likely top that list or be in the top 3 next year, with the fwt revenue, sales, clothing lines and ect.
Rih i see her in the top 10 but Bey for sure will outdo her as usual nothing new.

      • Jamon September 18, 2016

Rihanna was higher then Beyonce on Forbes this year. She made $75 million and Beyonce was around $56. They both did good

      • BEY>RIH September 18, 2016

Rihanna had action in music for the whole year and only made $19 million more. The money Bey earned from Lemonade, FWT, Ivy Park, Parkwood Ent. wasn’t counted in this year’s forbes list and she still made $56 million. Bey will be #1 next year and I doubt rih will be top ten.

      • Jamon September 19, 2016

Forbes goes from June 2015 to June 2016. The topic was who made more. Neither of us know exactly when and where their money comes from. You sound like you’re Beyonce’s accountant. I was only stating what forbes reported, which we all know is a reliable source, not you

  17. Theman September 18, 2016

    F streams. Pure sales >>>>>>>….

    • BEY>RIH September 18, 2016

Finally, one of your comments i agree with your stankass.

    • pablo alboran September 18, 2016

IF YOU ACTUALLY LOOKED AT BILLBOARD REVENUE CHART, YOU WOULD SEE THAT SONGS MAKE MORE FROM STREAMING THAN SALES. ‘FREE STREAMS’ ARE LUCRATIVE FOR ARTISTS SINCE THEY CAN MAKE MONEY BASED ON THEM. ANTI ALREADY MADE OVER $8 MILLION FROM SPOTIFY ALONE, BUT CONTINUE TO SHADE STREAMING IF YOU WANT.

  18. FASHION_ICON ~ Anti&Lemonade September 18, 2016

    Streaming is the new black
Back in the days people were saying the same f*** digitals cd is better.
The rules changed , the way of consumptions too.
Before it was the truck then the coins then the money paper then the cheque then credit card nowadays you can buy stuff with phones
The world evolves, before the real money was in the selling of music for an artist now the real money is in touring revenue, merch, #product, streams and a little bit of music.
That’s why most major artists develop a brand, create their own label and entertainment company but Adele …she is the own that confirm the new rules
And we all have to deal with it

  19. Mel September 18, 2016

Congrats Rihanna,#Anti, wow!!!! Still love Britney too.

  20. pablo alboran September 18, 2016

Britney has been a huge flop in the digital era.

    BLACKOUT – 2.5
    CIRCUS – 3.9
    FEMME FATALE – 1.7
    BRITNEY JEAN – 0.6
    GLORY – 0.5-0.6 TOTAL IMO

She should be lucky that she debuted during the peak of albums riding on the coatt. ails of t*** pop boom s
et by Spice Girls and Backstreet Boys when all of them were doing big numbers.

  21. Rome September 18, 2016

Rihanna still above Beyoncé and her album came out a month before. Anti better slay.

  22. COOKIE LYIN’ September 18, 2016

I’m here for Glory and I love Britney b****, but…

These days it’s just not enough to phone in interviews, bad lip sync a lackluster VMA performance of a non-hit 1st single, with a tacky music video.

So many things have gone wrong this era so far.

All she needs to do is release Slumber Party with a lit video, host SNL again, and do the festivals like planned.

  23. Lee September 18, 2016

Where is ariana shmande at though?

  24. Casual-T September 18, 2016

There’s nothing surprising about this. Britney doesn’t have a hit on the radio to perpetuate interest in the album.

  25. King B September 18, 2016

“Beyoncé is an ovrerrated b**** whose hypes does not match her sales.”- Lemonade 1,400,000

“Britney is a legend and huge worldwide superstar”. After all the hypes,….

“Rihanna is a huge global act”, left Australian Album Chart and never return.

  26. Caleb September 19, 2016

“Blackout” was alright and all, but “groundbreaking”?! I think not.
