Soulful songbird Emeli Sande is set to take flight with new single ‘Hurts’ next Friday.
It’s the first taste of the Scottish belter’s long-awaited sophomore album and it certainly has high expectations greeting it upon release.
Sande’s debut effort ‘Our Version Of Events’ spawned two UK #1 singles, went 7x Platinum in the region, and amassed worldwide sales of 4.3 million.
Now managed by Roc Nation, can the tower of talent repeat said success with the Jay Z imprint in her corner?
The answer arrives is less than a week.
Pending then, listen to a series of rousing previews after the jump…
So excited can’t wait for you to hear more 1 week to go! #ItHurts

Sounds like fire!
‘Hurts’ lands at retail and streaming services on September 16th!
I’m here for Ms. Sande but being on RocNation will hurt her cause. Look at Rihanna, Rita, Alexis, Kyle, etc.
Kylie not Kyle
i think she is super duper talented, i do believe that she is one of the best the UK have to offer the problem is the US market is extremely fickle & image-based so she can have as many features with as many rappers Jigga can get her …But the reality is she will be a chrisette michelle type. She cannot dance & has no swag she is from Scotland not London. And she isn’t pro-black enough to get the Jill Scott & Erykah Badu sympathy vote. No doubt in the UK she is a dead cert, no1 & couple millions sold again tour etc. US she will fare better this time around i believe. But US market for black women is extremely lucrative but Tough. I wish her the best.
UK needs a new Sade type, beautiful, talented young & pro-black enough to win the Americans over Smart but appeals to the streets.
Idk her first Album Our Version of Events was speechless Great. You could listen from start to end it had meaning she can sing. I think she’ll do good anywhere US UK etc. can’t wait for this song this week
Cool
