Lady Gaga is back!

Not just on the charts, but atop of the tally.

The diva’s dynamite new single ‘Perfect Illusion’ has raced out of the gate at the speed of light and shines at #1 in several major markets.

Full story below…

As at writing, the Mark Ronson, BloodPop, and Kevin Parker production occupies the top spot of iTunes US and UK.

gaga-1

The cut, which is the lead release from the superstar’s fifth studio album, also occupies the #1 slot in France, Spain, Brazil, Ireland, and in many other regions.

It’s as solid a start as the singer could have hoped for.

It’ll be interesting to see whether the anthemic track has legs of longevity to climb to higher successes in the weeks ahead.

    • Ughhhh September 9, 2016

This is some white privilege foolery. You all know damn well this song is bogus. If any black female artist came out with this garbage you all would be throwing more shade than a cloudy day. Lady Gaga is whack and it all started with Art Pop. I am so over you fairies hyping up white women but when a black female artist tries something different or it’s just not up to par; y’all go in!

      • Lol September 9, 2016

She is becoming Sia’s tribute singer ????

      • Beyonce’s Military September 9, 2016

This song is a thrash. It looks like Gaga’s Monsters need to organize a download party this weekend.

She is so 8 years ago. Please..realease a remix album or sumthing. Your creative juice is getting dry!

      • Adam September 9, 2016

I feel so sorry for Little Monsters. They had to pretend to like Jazz and now they have to pretend to like this too.

    • Fenty army September 9, 2016

Floppppp!!!! Perfect Illusion is the worst song this year. Generic at its best!!! ????

      • JohnVidalTheOriginal September 9, 2016

Agree, she will have to discount or sell perfumes to recoup!

  2. HailLegendBeysus September 9, 2016

Congrats! It took her almost 12hrs to snatch the #1 spot in US. But anyway still congrats! The single has grown on me.

      Go cook your dinner

      • Bey&Rih September 9, 2016

It actually took her 8 hrs to reach #1 on iTunes, and she’s #1 on iTunes in over 60 and countries right now.

  4. pat September 9, 2016

I was surprised at the reactions to the song on here. It had hit written all over it from the moment i first heard it. 80’s rock edgy but danceable, catchy, radio friendly, and a great alternative to EVRYTHING that’s out right now.

    • Ughhhh September 9, 2016

      Pat shut the f**** up.

      • BL September 9, 2016

Who do you think you are in this world to tell someone to shut his mouth? Nasty people

  5. BeyonceIsASlut September 9, 2016

    It will still flop.

    Ugly rat faced c#nt wh#re

  6. StarXavi September 9, 2016

I really like the song. It’s definitely catchy and doesn’t sound like anything that has been released lately. So, kudos to Gagz!

  7. Everyone’s A Critic September 9, 2016

Based on name alone. I don’t feel the track will grow on me personally. I’m not here for it. NEXT

  8. Paulo September 9, 2016

I love it but I hate it simultaneously. it’s so catchy and a return to form BUT the vocal production sucks IMO. I wanted her singing her ass off not this Kevin Parker mess. I’ll forever hate him for ruining Gaga’s comeback for me but I’m so glad it’s selling well – she deserves it.

  9. Cocoa September 9, 2016

Question is how long will it stay at number one? Katy Perry’s “Rise” hit number one, then less then a week it feel out of the top 20…. soo

  10. IStan4Rihanna. September 9, 2016

I love Lady Gaga as well the 1980’s-inspired Synth-Pop/New Wave production but the song (particularly the melody) is not memorable at all. It’s barely discerning. It’s disappointing actually. 🙁

    .

Nonetheless, as this is her first song to top I-Tunes since 2012, it’ll be interesting to see how this fares on the chart this week. It could become her fifth HDS #1 but “Closer” is still selling within the 180 – 200K range every week and has been doing so the past two weeks and I don’t see it surpassing Beyonce’s “Formation” numbers in its first week to be quite frankly- Rihanna’s “WORK” and Katy Perry’s “RISE” is questionable also.

  11. iSpeakTruthNoFallacy September 9, 2016

The song is a hit! It has the perfect constructed chorus that will get stuck in your head. While I don’t see it crossing over into multiple demographics like Uptown Funk, it certainly will be a staple in the gay clubs and for pure pop fans. When I first heard Work I on the radio wasn’t a fan, but it took me going to a party to see the beauty of tha song which is a cultural movement. I think Gaga was aiming for the same thing. Now the real question is it’s longevity

    • JOHNVIDAL September 9, 2016

Work is so much worse. That´s why even you, who are the craziest and most delusional fan on here, didn´t like the song at first. The song needed a lot of streaming, payola and radio help to make people listen to it. It was kind of a fake #1 nobody remembers. Rare thing that can happen nowadays with teh present rules. A bad song nobody cares about can not onlt top teh tally for a week or two, but for many weeks. Appalling. No other singles by Rihanna has made it this era (as usual lately) despite her many tries (3 singles last year, 3 singles this year, a single for a blockbuster movie and also a “perfect” single prepared for radio as a feature with taht guy called Calvin. But it´s not happening. Payola can only “work” for a single every year. That´s teh rate 🙂
PS: Celine Dion just outsold Rihanna, the biggest pop star ever in your opinion (and still in her 20s and peak) with a pucking french album which only sells in France and Canada and at 50 years old 🙂

      • iSpeakTruthNoFallacy September 9, 2016

What’s your incessant obsession over Rihanna? Every damn day you up here trying to diminish her greatness when the actuality is the opposite. She’s ruled the airwaves this year with 3 top ten hits, a feat NO ONE else has accomplished this year and 2 more on the way but you knew that. Now when it comes to Work, yo old ass probably don’t understand it’s sonic tone. It’s not a song to be understood on the radio; however, if you’re at a party with black millennials, you will maybe understand it’s appeal as it’s success was a cultural movement. Furthermore, why are you talking to me about Work which is old news. I’m now talking about Perfect Illusion yo girls new single

      • JOHNVIDAL September 9, 2016

That´s the thing hun. People like you who put GREATNESS next to Rihanna´s name. That´s the issue. Please get real once and for all. You mentioned Work btw, not me. That´s why i´m talking about it to YOU. Please start making sense and accept facts and reality. Everything will be good from there and I´ll totally forget you just as I have always “unknown” you (which I couldn´t avoid until you left me shocked with the Rihanna is bigger than Madonna pshit you vomited 🙂 ). I have trouble recognizing you even now anyway caus ethe other day I confused you with that other poor Rihanna fan called “Istan…”. The poor babe didn´t deserve it cause he´s clearly way more realistic and doesn´t try to come for real talent (which is what YOU have been doing with Lady Gaga lately, so don´t act as if you weren´t doing what you are accusing people of). Just stop the madness and everything else will be fine. Go watch some performances by Janis Joplin and Whitney Houston and learn what stage presence and real vocals are 🙂

      • iSpeakTruthNoFallacy September 9, 2016

What makes you think that I haven’t listened to Janis or Whitney? I grew up on them! I have a mind of my own and appreciate various forms of art in a plethora of mediums from various eras. From the current wave of indie and synthpop to the old school sounds of Motown, I am a cultured individual with a wide pallet of interests. Furthermore, I am a millennial! In such case, I can relate to the artists of my age as well. Everyone has different tastes and styles that draws them, and Rihanna draws me. It’s my personal opinion (well the opinion of at least 30 million of her fanbase too). You must think it’s easy to have 14 #1 hits. If it were so easy, Yonce, Gaga, Whitney, Taylor, and Britney would have them by now.

      • stan September 9, 2016

Work reached 2 weeks at #1 Digital Sales Songs, so its #1 is absolutely deserved. It sold over 120k in less than 2 days. Needed Me was a hit as well despite having basically zero promo (until VMA performance, but long after its peak). Kiss It Better flopped, yes, but it was never promoted. You would know a lot about payola since most of Mariah #1s were fueled by radio plays (most of them are only based on that though) and discounts to 49 cents. We Belong Together aka the song of the decade never reached #1 based on sales, it was #1 thanks to radio aka payola (guess who stayed 5 weeks at #1 Sales Songs and blocked her?). You should be the last one talking about undeserved #1s. Oh, and btw the ‘forgotten’ single Work gets over 3 million plays on Youtube every single day, it’s played in clubs everywhere, so I guess people didn’t forget about it. And if you knew something about sales/streaming nowadays, you would know that streaming is more lucrative than digital sales since most artists make more money based on it (see the revenue charts post by Billboard).

      • JOHNVIDAL September 9, 2016

Don´t act all nice now. You´ve been hating on a much more talented artist than Rihanna like Lady gaga for weeks saying she killed pop and retarded things like that. If you are so interested in talent and different things of course you can be interested in artists that are “your age”, just choose talented ones, not no damn Rihanna 🙂 Anyway, let´s put this to rest. I´m glad you like this song. Just please STOP the LIES from now on.

      • JOHNVIDAL September 9, 2016

        stan
I don´t know what some of you don´t pucking understand. You seem mad at FACTS. You are saying it yourself, Rihanna is already in her 3rd single or more this year plus she had 3 singles last year for this albums campaign, plus the feature I´m talking about and all. She tried way too hard, and yes, if some of the people you guys mentioned were only here for the hit singles they would have more too. Mariah used payola as everybody yes… and nobody pucking cares cause it came with album sales and REAL talent (like huge talent) to match the hype that promo (payola) could secure. It´s such a different case.

So Rihanna just had a long running #1 (like 9 weeks weren´t they?) and you yourself are admitting it only was a real #1 song sales wise for two weeks? Boy stop it. Rihanna fans need to know their place. That´s the main problem. Just enjoy her, but don´t try to pass her for what she isn´t.

  12. Bee September 9, 2016

It will fall soon it took her 7 hrs to reach one it took Britney two hours so it don’t matter she’s going to drop like the c** out my p****

    • Bey&Rih September 9, 2016

You are a disgusting piece of trash!

    • LOL September 9, 2016

LOL BUT WHERE’S FLOPNEY AT NOW THO LMAO

  13. Sandra September 9, 2016

Itunes is not the official chart for the u.k or the u.s.
People have been high on the chart before and come in the charts much lower.
    I’ll wait

  14. Rihboy September 9, 2016

It’s easy to go to number one on iTunes for prominent forces! But this song is just ok. It sounds like she is trying rebirth bad romances sound. At first I completely hated it. But now it’s tolerable! It’s catchy a bit! But I don’t think this will last unless she drops a bad ass visual! Which she usually delivers. Waiting game!

  15. Perry September 9, 2016

I like the song. It’s not the best, but it’s catchy. Once the video is released, and streaming is factored in, I think it’ll do well. Congrats. No hate these ways.

  16. King B September 9, 2016

Never thought I like it on the first listen. It was okay. 7/10.

  17. Perfect Delusion September 9, 2016

    It will flop…harder than Artpoop!!

    • JOHNVIDAL September 9, 2016

Many albums have flopped harder than Artpop, not teh best example you could use. Anti cannot pucking outsell Artpop for example 🙂 despite the “hits”.

      • stan September 9, 2016

Let’s see how Gaga’s new album will do this year compared to Anti (which was given away for free to 1.4 million people), because Unapologetic wipe the floor with Artpop and they were released year from each other (Unapologetic sales from 2013 outsold Artpop sales to date though). Worry about Mariah, her last album didn’t even sell 250k though.

      • JOHNVIDAL September 9, 2016

We don´t have to see a damn thing cause my comment about sales were in response to a comment by a hater who seems to only care for numbers. If she sells less than Anti she´ll be fine anyway cause she has talent and a long career ahead of her even if it isn´t in pop music.

  18. Beyonce’s Military September 9, 2016

Itunes doesnt mean anything. She will drop faster than Melania Trump’s panties!!! Mark my words.. ?

  19. No thanks!! September 9, 2016

It will flop…for sure. Only for her tone deaf Donkeysters!

  20. Adele’s Tonsil September 9, 2016

This song is for the poor, uneducated and jobless white thrash. What a joke! ?

  21. Dont Waste Your Monnie September 9, 2016

    Tragic !!

  22. Neil September 9, 2016

This song is just p*** poor produced! I think I will pass. No, thanks!

  23. GaGa’s Little Lamb September 9, 2016

LOL at the multiple troll accounts being created by ONE person just so he can start a stan war. What a sad life you must be living

  24. Aunt_Jackie September 9, 2016

    Telephone
    Bad Romance
    Alejandro
    Paparazzi
    Just Dance
    Pokerface
Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)
    LoveGame

    Those are great songs.

This is okay, not bad, but there is something just….off about this. If it wasn’t so SCREAMY and the vocals were layered I think it would be perfect.

  25. LOL September 9, 2016

LOL DEATH AT THE BUGS SCREAMING THAT ITUNES DOESN’T MEAN ANYTHING WHEN THEIR S**** FAVE HASN’T HAD A SINGLE TOP ITUNES SINCE LAST DECADE LMAO.

GAGA IS SLAYING, AND THE ROACH MOTEL WILL DEAL LMAO.

    • Taylor Swift-To-Find-A-New-Man (Slayty) September 9, 2016

It took 12 hours to hit #1 with less than a 30% lead over the #2 song and it already has a dark red update. B*tch aint slaying anything but a bubbling under chart

    • BEY>RIH September 9, 2016

Umm were you not alive when Formation topped the itunes charts in over 70 countries including the U.S.? Literally every song in the itunes top 10 were from Lemonade. This song wont see half the succes of formation or even sorry so dont get your hopes up b****.

  26. Tamara September 9, 2016

Do What You Want went #1 on Itunes but still flopped! Hahaha..Monsters are often to optimistic …and it’s cute! ?

  27. PerezHilton September 9, 2016

I thought ArtPop was worse but this is ???

  28. Theman September 9, 2016

Beyonce fans are haters lol. Some people just wanna say negative things about the song just because lol.

    • JOHNVIDAL September 9, 2016

It´s Rihanna fans doing the most not Beyonce fans. Although this type of comments are to be expected. Ignorant people living a very sad life are always in time for a new Gaga release, it´s been like that for 5 years now. Truly pathetic. As if the woman (the very talented woman, more than their faves) would have made anything to them or something.

    • BEY>RIH September 9, 2016

Stop blaming everything on the hive bitxh. Most of us gave compliments, its the nazí you have to worry about.

  29. Mariah Carey September 9, 2016

As a singer/songwriter, I will say this. The song is not enjoyable but I look forward to her next few songs. Either way though, we love Gaga dahhling!!!

    • JOHNVIDAL September 9, 2016

Yas Mariah! From real songwriter to real songwriter 🙂

  30. Rosie September 9, 2016

    OK…
Single sales are in the toilet now so whatever. Closer will be back at #1 by Sunday at the latest, just like it currently is on every Billboard chart except radio.

  31. Pawz Down September 9, 2016

this new single was Gagool’s farewell to what was left of her career which was literally very close to nothing..

    • JOHNVIDAL September 9, 2016

How many troll accounts do you have mate? Let it go 🙂

  32. Taylor Swift-To-Find-A-New-Man (Slayty) September 9, 2016

Lol! It already has a dark red update on kworb and barely has a 30% lead over Closer. Flopga is done, let it go already.

    • JOHNVIDAL September 9, 2016

Wow so you already following her every move as a real stalker? You better worry why Katy Perry thought she was worthy of releasing a song for the Olympics when she cannot pucking sing. The result was the worst “anthem” we have ever heard for any sports event 🙂

  33. Kuma September 9, 2016

Gaga does one key change and the white gays think it’s the most innovative thing to ever happen in pop music. ?

  34. Rick Hayward September 9, 2016

    Sheer garbage!

  35. FASHION_ICON ~ Anti&Lemonade September 9, 2016

Gaga can sing yeah…she can play piano yeahhh…but she’s not that very talented woman for me cause talent it’s subjective for me Beyoncé is way more talented than Gaga.
Gaga is where she is because of the gimmick and the shocking things she has done not because of her “talent”.
That’s why nobody is here for her even if she can sing …

  36. nicko September 9, 2016

The song is basic AF. Gaga used to be so creative, what happened ?

  37. Lolitta September 9, 2016

Everyone here is right! “Perfect Illusion” is shameless trash. Case closed?
