New Video: Sevyn Streeter – ‘My Love For You’

Published: Monday 19th Sep 2016 by Sam

Sevyn Streeter is wasting approximately no time pushing new song ‘My Love For You.’

Released last week, the cut is the latest taste of the singer-songwriter’s debut album ‘Girl Disrupted’ – which is due early next year.

Today brings with it the debut of the song’s official video.

A choreographed affair, the clip sees the R&B star turn all the way up – as she and her girls bring the scintillating bedroom banger to life visually.

Watch after the jump…

The song is hot…..I just feel that there was no need for Choreography. Just my opinion…..anyway….she looks hot body banging, vocals on point. I’m sold! Yaaaasss bish!

Yas Yas yasssss. Bit** you better! I love it. This girl is doing everything right. She’s BEAUTIFUL, soultry sound, smooth dance moves. A+ from me. I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge r&b fan but I really appreciate artist who stay true to their sound. She ain’t trying to hop on the pop girl bandwagon. We have to support our urban artist because no one else would. Adding to Spotify right now and will purchase on iTunes.

This video is just like my oven roasted chicken sandwich from Subway…just bland AF. While her choreography was on point, the song itself doesn’t have a spark whatsoever as there’s nothing fresh or inventive. Like who was the A&R and exec who signed off on this especially for it to get a budget for a video too? I’m disappointed because I want Sevyn, along with Tinashe and the other up and coming black females, to succeed. It irritates me to only hear Selena Gomez, T Swift, and Ellie Goulding on the radio; I want our black arts to be further recognized.

This is the problem…this right here is why artist feel like they need to make “white” ‘mainstream sounding music. i couldn’t disagree anymore. This is her sound and this is what she needs to stick to, not bothered by TSwift and Selena Gomez. She tried to make cross over music like Don’t kill the fun and no one was here for it.

I don’t want her to make some bublegum poptart music. I want her to be her! With that being said, her music still needs to be good and a hit! This song here sounds like a left over off of Bryson Tiller’s album. The whole moody R&B sound with the trap beats started by the Weeknd is played out. She needs something fresh and inventive.

Exactly. Sometimes less is more. Keep it all the way real. I like this song & video for its simplicity. Plus Sevyn a s*** chocolate drop too!

*How they gone bleep out s***?*

Umm, you just named all white pop singers. Maybe you should try listening to other stations. I appreciate pop music too but Im not sure forcing an artist into a genre is the right mindset. She may want to stay true to R&B and if so, she’s def killing that lane. She has some of the best R&B music out.

I wasn’t really speaking from a genre perspective really. I was more talking about female artists who consistently have the push on radio and mainstream media as whole. I don’t want her to sell out and start making bubblegum pop music. Rather, I would like for her to make R&B music that is inventive and fresh. Sadly, I don’t feel that any of her music is. She has no distinctive sound but just sounds redundant

The choreography was on point!! Love me some Sevyn¡!

Hmmmmm. I love Sevyn, she’s very talented. This is one of those weird situations where the song grew on me but then the video just didn’t do anything for me. I prefer to listen to the song without the video!!!

And yes she looks hot and the choreo is cute – but it feels lazy and lacking laser sharp execution. No shade – but have you seen her the video for her debut single ‘I Like’ ? SHE ATE THAT CHAIR ROUTINE Choreo!!!! Come harder Sevyn.

The babies of Janet and Beyonce generation. Lol no lie, initially I thought the same thing about her dancing on here but I soon realized it on purpose. I bet her choreographer want a more relaxed approach to this dance. It’s that Aaliyah vibe. But… I somewhat want more of the Dance For You s*** hard hitting too. Smh Beyonce has made it hard for the newbies.

      • Yeah man September 20, 2016

Man you making no sense today. Who you a AR for Epic? You will have your roster flopping. First off, Seveyns videos is Ciara lite. Same location for Ginmie Dat..and all of her old choreo. No beyonce whatsoever. Bey cant dance like Sevyn. Keep letting the smoke & mirrors trick ya.

So much Ciara influence in this video (Promise, Oh, Gimme Dat)!

    I love this!

  7. Casual-T September 19, 2016

Boring song, okay video. The video isn’t a big budget video, but it is very well-produced, but the video isn’t going to overcome the lackluster track.

  8. Amira September 19, 2016

Sorry but she is Wayyyy more talented then this cookie cutter video and Bland song! Just meh for me, she should scrap all that trying to be hiphop mess… NO Sevyn

  9. Jason September 19, 2016

I love her, but it looked like she wasn’t giving the choreography her all! I hope she doesn’t end up “The Girl that never puts an album out”! It’s starting to seem like her label is playing her. She’s such a talented artist, and I’m still planning to support.
