Teyana Taylor‘s has been picked up VH1’s ‘The Breaks.

Good news below…

Following her crowd-pleasing performance in Kanye West‘s ‘Fade’ visual, Taylor has signed up to star in the television adaptation of Dan Charnas’ ‘The Big Payback.’

The original film aired on VH1 earlier this year and now, following its success, will be followed by a TV series which documents Hip-Hop history with help from Mrs. Shumpert.

‘Shadow and Act’ adds:

“The Breaks” (the movie) followed three young friends fulfilling their hip-hop dreams in New York City in 1990. The TV series will continue to explore their triumph and heartbreak trying to make their mark in a new and complex hip hop culture.

Mack Wilds also stars in the project.

The breaks came out before the get down though. Either way they’re both good and give us history lessons on different eras in hip hop. The get down late 70’s-early 80’s. The breaks late 80’s-early 90’s

?? I’m so f*cking excited for TT!! I’ve been a fan since day 1! Her album is amazing! I’m just happy to see that she’s finally getting the recognition she deserves, She’s been GRINDING for so long. I saw her in concert last year and was completely blown away! Her stage presence is out of this world, performance wise; she is a problem!! Can’t wait for the next album.
