Usher‘s ‘Hard II Love’ album campaign train pulled into BBC Radio 1’s Live Lounge today.
Backed by a full band, the seasoned superstar delivered a dynamic setlist comprised of familiar hits such as ‘Climax’ and ‘You Go It Bad.’ He also served up current single ‘Crash’ and a spirited cover of ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ by The Chainsmokers.

We really enjoyed the stripped back version of ‘Crash,’ for not only did the lyrics penetrate more, the enduring quality of Usher’s voice really shone. That controlled falsetto was flawless.
The full set (viewable here) was also exquisite.
‘Hard II Love’ lands in stores September 16th via RCA.
Now that’s how you sing! All these auto tune R&B/trap singers need to take notes. Usher needs an acoustic album tho for real. His vocals have improved a lot. Can’t wait for the album!
Usher is beyond talented and has a career any artist would aspire to have. However, he hasn’t developed into the pop force that he should be. He should be respected as the male counterpart to Beyonce as he has a catalog of hits ranging 20+ years, but his music released within the last 5 years doesn’t garner him the respect he deserves. From songs like “I don’t mind” it makes it seem that he’s too busy trying to replicate what the kids are doing. rather showing his growth infused with his raw genius. Although I wasn’t a big fan of the album, Justin Timberlake came back right with his song Suit & Tie with a feature from Jay Z. Whatever the case may be, I’m rooting for Usher as he should be treated for the pop royalty that he is.
Realy enjoy watching Usher sing live. He as some mutch talent.
I also just find out Craig David as a new album dropping at the end of the month.
I heard some song, it’s more Dance/EDM
I will forever love him
I might shade Usher here and there because of his questionable musical choices. However, I will always give him props for his talent. His full set was such a joy to watch because he seemed fully committed to delivering a great show. Plus, he and Clara Amfo’s chemistry was cute, lol. From a vocal standpoint, he was brilliant on all five songs. His falsetto was remarkably piercing on Crash and Climax. Also, the Reggae reworking of Love In This Club was SO GOOD and I loved how he made Don’t Let Me Down his own. Dude can riff and run for days. Finally, I was prepared for all the feels when he belted out the classic U Got It Bad. His music (especially from 1997 – 2008) really provided for the soundtrack for so many memories.
He needs to perform a soul wrenching performance at the Grammies then Release his LP after then come out with a club/radio friendly single to carry him over till tour. Do collabs with popular upcoming artists and do more youthful festivals
Sometimes it isn’t necessarily keeping up. Rather, being contemporary. He’s just multifaceted.
Ooooh, this was nice. I just love seeing him sing & showcase his God-Given talent. Slay Usher.
Awesome performance
