Chart Check [Billboard 200]: Jeezy Lands Third #1 Album With ‘Trap or Die 3’

Published: Wednesday 9th Nov 2016 by Rashad

Waving the flag for Hip Hop, Jeezy and Meek Mill made some serious moves on the Billboard 200 this week with their respective releases ‘Trap or Die 3’ and ‘DC4.’

While the former is leading the pack with his third run at #1 (and 8th consecutive top 10), Mill – who notched 7 new entries on the Hot 100 this week alone – landed at #3 on the albums’ tally.

Billboard reports:

[‘Trap or Die’], which was released on Oct. 28 through YJ/CTE/Def Jam Records, earned a little more than 89,000 units in the week ending Nov. 3, according to Nielsen Music. The set sold 73,000 in traditional album sales.

Meek Mill’s new mixtape album ‘DC4′ debuts at No. 3 with 87,000 units (and 45,000 in traditional album sales), marking his third charting effort. Of its 87,000 units start, a whopping 37,000 were streaming equivalent album units.”

Tuck in below to see who joined them in this week’s refreshed chart check:

I guess that rumor of JayZ buying Beyonce’s album hold some weight. It doesn’t look like it has any longevity nor does it appear that ppl are even interested in streaming it for free. That’s when you know your music is crap.

    • Lea November 11, 2016

Right! Still on the charts, can’t say the same for that other girl!

  3. LB November 10, 2016

Beyonce is a dumb cu*t and I hope she chokes to death on that camel c()ck. How u gonna let your album flop on the charts for that Tidal mess. Goodbye

    • JOHNVIDAL November 10, 2016

Why dumb? She has sold more than any of those albums in that top25 except for Adele. How the hell does it matter in which position the album is this particular week months after its release? Funny thing is it probably still sold more this week than most in that top25 but you know… streaming lol

      • iamdiego November 10, 2016

True! She’s been charting in the top 10 on itunes every week since Lemonade was released and yesterday it was at number 6. (side note) Almost 3 years later, ‘BEYONCÉ’ (self titled) is still top 200 in more than 100 countries.

    Oh slay

  5. JOHNVIDAL November 10, 2016

See? This is what all albums sell nowadays, way under 100k copies. So anyone, absolutely anyone doing over 100k first week from now on is not a flop. It is an achievement really.

Where is Rosie and her predictions about Michael Buble selling more than Gaga first week? And second and following weeks? 🙂 🙂 🙂

    • King B November 10, 2016

Selling 100k is not a flop. Selling 100k this week and 20k the following week is a flop. There’s many albums sold 100k, but not many can sell consistently.
PS. Lemonade is expected to sell 9-11k (pure sales), I’m so proud of her. Surviving digital era and now surviving streaming era.

      • JOHNVIDAL November 10, 2016

Well, your mention of Beyonce (how not! lol) in this case was not needed. But yes, she´s doing great (I know you wanted to read that once again, as if I had never say it before 🙂 ). But no, doing 100k first week and 20k second week is not a flop nowadays. The point keeps being the same. It is the normal thing now. Beyonce doing better doesn´t make these type of numbers a flop. Following that logic your girl is an epic flop cause there´s one girl called Adele that slaughters her in sales 🙂

The fact that Jeezy and Meek Mill outsold Alicia Keys… Im Shook

    • John November 10, 2016

I am not sjocled in the slightest! These arw artists with small but loyal fans… and neither of them have taken an extended hiatus. You also have the fact that these guys work the streets and strip club. Alicia is an industry plant. So once the industry fail to support her shes doomed

  7. Pablo November 10, 2016

Not jeezy and meek selling more then Jackie?

Holding on to its title as the best-selling female album of this year… When will your fave?

  9. Queen Ci November 10, 2016

Hold the presses. 25 and Anti are still in the top 25 and not Lemonwater? Kiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

    • Lolipz November 10, 2016

Smh. Tragic! The album came out after Anti and 25 but is being blackballed by the GP’s eardrums.

  12. Navybound November 10, 2016

The artist is still getting paid off of streaming. I don’t know why they separate it off as pure sales is more viable.

    • BEY>RIH November 10, 2016

Pure sales is way more impressive than streaming.

  13. Lolipz November 10, 2016

Wow where is bey? This new album of hers seem to be allergic to the relevant charts.

    • BEY>RIH November 10, 2016

It’s not allergic to SALES. ☺️

  14. Gunners November 10, 2016

So i guess when your husband buys your albums it catches up to u later. Congrats to slaydele and rihanna!

    • BEY>RIH November 10, 2016

      2.5 million x $17.99= $45 million.
