Bruno Mars has been marvelling the masses with his third album ’24k Magic.’
Unleashed last week, the set has been bolstered by the popularity of its title track and a slew of major promotional spots.
The latter has proven especially effective, as the LP’s sales forecast rose following his show-stopping performance at the AMAs.
With the week’s numbers tallied in total, where did Mars land?
Find out below…
Per Hits Daily Double, the set did indeed best initial predictions.
Its final sales are…
226,413 (Sales Plus Streaming)
196,000 (Pure Sales
The figures serve as the singer’s highest first week numbers to date. Both from a pure sales and SPS standpoint.
And while he was denied the #1 spot by Metallica (whose new release hit 305k), there’s still several weeks left in the year to snatch it. After all, Mars’ preceding LP – ‘Unorthodox Jukebox’ – opened at #2 only to hit the top shortly after.
We sure hope it’s a case of history repeating itself because ’24k Magic’ is wholly deserving.
