December 6th 2016 will deliver the hotly-anticipated nominations for the forthcoming Grammy awards.

Fortunately, fans of this year’s eligible nominees don’t have to wait until then to discover which categories they hope their material will soar in.

What Beyonce seems to have on the agenda?

Rock’n’Roll glory…

The singer’s latest album ‘Lemonade’ sees her glide through genres and motifs with close ties to African-American history.

One of these is Rock music.

Derived from Gospel, Jazz and R&B, the genre found a place on the aforementioned LP via the song ‘Don’t Hurt Yourself’ which features portions lifted from the Blues song ‘When the Levee Breaks’, released by Memphis Minnie in 1929.

This song gave birth to the Led Zeppelin release of the same name.

Now, following in the footsteps of the Rockers of colour who came before her, Bey has reportedly submitted ‘Hurt’ to the Grammy committee with hopes they will place her in two Rock categories.

Nominations in the categories above would follow the success of her Country Blues number ‘Daddy Lessons.’

Recorded at The Beehive Studios, ‘Lessons’ was recently delivered at the 2016 Country Music Association Awards by the singer and The Dixie Chicks helping it to impact iTunes’ Top 20.

Can you see ‘Don’t performing as well as the Grammys?

    • Maurice November 7, 2016

Can beyonce go into hiding for a bit?
I need to miss her to enjoy her music again because she can’t keep bringing out music like her name is Rihanna, it devalues her brand.

      • Bruno >>> Biebette November 7, 2016

Not if the music is good. Drake makes good music so all of his make impact because the quantity matches the quality. FRIH on the other hand? Chris on the other hand?

      • Lana Del Fan November 7, 2016

Yo dumb ašśes just pull it straight from thin air, huh? Beyoncé didn’t have any other releases (besides collabs like running and hymn for the weekend) since Self Titled in 2013. 3 years is long enough to release new music.

      • BEY>RIH November 7, 2016

So because she’s performing and promoting her music this era, you’re basically saying she’s overexposed? Before Lemonade her last musical release was nearly 3 years ago.

    • Jason November 7, 2016

You better speak on your life!! Say it again!

    • RihYonce November 7, 2016

Flop ? But she has the highest selling album this year as well as the biggest female debut 20 years in career. The girls can’t come close

  2. ???????Chile, take this “Itty Bitty Piggy” to the market and make sure you hold her hand while crossing the street!??????? November 7, 2016

That lipstick color Bey’s wearing in that photo reminds me of the lipsticks Mary J. Blige used to wear back in the day….without the lip liner, though.

    • Bruno >>> Biebette November 7, 2016

Oh yeah!! From the Everything video. Good eye!

      • ???????Chile, take this “Itty Bitty Piggy” to the market and make sure you hold her hand while crossing the street!??????? November 7, 2016

Yes, indeed! I love that video. She looked like a goddess of the earth.

Girl, I’m still shook on him actually finding black women attractive, especially curvy ones. I guess you live and you learn.

      • JOHNVIDAL November 7, 2016

Really? How is that news? I´ve seen him praise Lupita or Whitney´s beauty in so many occasions. Just two examples.

      • Surprised…2013 November 7, 2016

Keyword ‘two examples’, he bashes the other black girls while praising the WHITE DEVILS of the entertainment industry. S****** Mess is David Duke’s secondhand pennis grabber..( a sidepiece)….and u now they are about blk folks.

      • JOHNVIDAL November 7, 2016

To be honest I don´t know a damn thing about this or s******´s true feelings. I just remember how he used to praise some black artists without a problem in our conversations about music a long while ago in this site. That´s all.

  4. #ispeakfacts November 7, 2016

Musically the lemonade album sucked… visually it was great! Take away the visuals the album to me is not even grammy worthy! I’ll give Adele album of the year even and Beyonce best music video/film.

    • Surprised…2013 November 7, 2016

      And CANTI…NVM?????

    • Surprised…2013 November 7, 2016

U just confirmed my suspicion that you a full fledged Beyonce hater….U KNOW DAMN WELL THAT FREEDOM ALONE IS BETTER THAN MOST SONGS THIS YEAR. LOVE DROUGHT IS F****** AMAZING, HOLD UP IS COOL SONG E.T.C LEMONADE IS ALSO GREAT MUSICALLY. I DON’T LIKE ALL THE SONGS IN THE ALBUM, BUT I LOVE MOST. THAT SENTIMENT GOES FOR MOST ALBUM RELEASED. LEMONADE WILL WIN ALBUM OF THE YEAR, ADELE WILL FOR HELLO..S.O.T.Y, MAYBE R.O.T.Y AND POP SOLO ETC. MEANWHILE CANTI WILL WIN WELL……..BEST ALBUM COVER FONT?? OR MAYBE ALBUM OF THE YEAR….AT THE 1ST ANNUAL BARBADIAN GRAMMY AWARDS.

      • Killian November 7, 2016

        Love Drought!!! ??

      • Blue Ivy Rod November 7, 2016

Judging by sales, mentions, impact and success. Anti banked more and is more impactful on a global scale. It still hasn’t left the Top 20 and NO GIMMICKS to sell it. Lemonade is a great album, it’s just the music cannot stand alone so that’s why everyone liked it AFTER watching her videos. Though take that away and it really doesn’t stand out as a “BLM” album, SOLANGE did a better job in that department.

      • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler November 7, 2016

        @Blue
Lol how is Anti more impactful? I never hear any of the political candidates mentioning it? It doesn’t get national news coverage like Lemonade. You keep bragging about its chart position. Funny thing is, metacritic has Anti stalled at 1.4 mill and Lemonade at 2.5 mill. So explain how Anti has “made more bank.” When Lemonade has SOLD more and is supported by a HIGHER GROSSING WORLD TOUR?? Thats a real kii

    • RihYonce November 7, 2016

But it’s the most critically acclaimed album released in years by a female artist. Also it’s the most critically acclaimed album this year. She will win AOTY and you will deal ? When will your talentless fave ?

  5. King B November 7, 2016

The most versatile and impactful artist of our generation! When I talk about versatile, I’m not talking about from Pop to EDM, I’m talking about all genre. And I love it if she’s doing operatic vocal like Flawless (background vocal) and Ave Maria. How humble of she to slay background vocals so that these pop tarts have chance to show of their “struggles”, I mean “vocals”, so that the GP see them as vocalist.

    • Surprise..(DEC 2013) November 7, 2016

S****** Mess is about to start SHITTING BRICKS..LMAO

  6. Countesses85 November 7, 2016

Queen bey is the type to try it all I mean why not just like others artist she catch heat cause she beyonce very powerful and also Rihanna their brands are very strong and good team behind both and edgy rock album will be cool she can slay it vocally is like she puts her all in it what I’m trying that date she posted back here 12/12/16 anyone have a clue

  7. Mr.StLaurent November 7, 2016

“Don’t Hurt Yourselft” & “All Night” are my twe favorite song from Lemonade ?
Beyoncé can do almost every musical type ??

  8. Surprise..(DEC 2013) November 7, 2016

S****** C*** IS ABOUT TO LOOSE HIS S*** AND START PREACHING ABOUT ITS WHITE DEVILS (MADONNA, KURT E.T.C) AND THIER SUPERIORITY……LMAO. I CAN’T WAIT FOR THOSE WHITE TEARS.

  9. Surprise..(DEC 2013) November 7, 2016

Don’t hurt urself is indeed a ROCK SONG anyone that says otherwise(S****** FLOP) is a damn HATER.

  10. Lea November 7, 2016

    Rotfl, bye gul!

    • Surprise..(DEC 2013) November 7, 2016

Why…DON’T HURT URSELF IS INDEED A ROCK SONG. HENCE, SHE CAN SUBMIT IT, STOP HATING.

  11. cocobutta November 7, 2016

Prefer Beyoncé voice when it’s pretty and soulful. The grows and shouts not my favs from her HOWEVER was a great blend of the Rock and Hip-Hop sounds and the R&B and Rock vocals.

Defo sound submit all songs that are touching other genres. That’s a must even if not a winner.

No Bey Boxes for the art of Lemonade

    • cocobutta November 7, 2016

Eww at all my typos ?

  12. Roc November 7, 2016

Why didnt she submit Daddy Lessons for Country?

    • Surprised…2013 November 7, 2016

I have no idea…i think she went with the ones she thought she had better chances at wining. I love her submissions…Very Smart.

  13. Beyonnaise November 7, 2016

    Ugly opportunistic wh#re

  14. Rowlandstone November 7, 2016

Wait a minute, one can actually summit a song even if it doesn’t chart?

    • Surprised…2013 November 7, 2016

Was this shade?? Or are u just misinformed cause the song charted at 41 on the billboard hot 100 chart. I ‘m guessing u just didn’t know.

  15. Surprised…2013 November 7, 2016

In before the NAZI break their heels running in here to say she buys grammys…3…2…1???????????

  16. JOHNVIDAL November 7, 2016

Do you guys (Beyonce fans) think Lemomade will have more recognition at the grammys than “Beyoncé”? Honest question. I don´t know, grammys are about music but they still (well, in fact these last few years more than ever) focus on success sometimes too. Beyonce was more successful (sales) and it was a big change of direction for her (in the way she commands her career). It had a really serious opportunity of winning Album of the Year (for the first time in her case). But it didn´t win. Do you guys think Lemonade´s options are bigger than “Beyonce”´s? Somehow I cannot see that. Nobody knows of course. It always depends on the competition too obviously. Who the other nominees are is always key too.

    • Surprised…2013 November 7, 2016

Lemonade actually has a better chance than Beyonce even tho in terms of sales its less than BEYONCE. Formation alone has a song made more impact than any song on BEYONCE, so that will receive nominations even BEYONCE failed to get. If u read the Grammy member that talked to billboard when comparing both 25 and Lemonade u will see why lemonade has more of a chance than Both BEYONCE and 25 despite 25 destroying it in sales. Again, by Beck winning, it shows that huge sales is not a defining factor….Critical acclaim also helps, which lemonade has plenty of but again that is not a defining factor. Lemonade was something very diff for bey…she presented a very personal story of betrayal to freedom. Which some voters have already said they found that refreshing. So yes i think Bey will receive the most nominations and win the of the night.??????

      • Surprise..(DEC 2013) November 7, 2016

        *the most of the night*

    • JOHNVIDAL November 7, 2016

Thanks for the reply. This site used to be about sane conversations like this. From what you´re saying I´m detecting you have the impression that a “Ready to make nice” by Dixie Chicks type of moment could happen. You know, most grammys voters going for support of a political statement. I hadn´t taken that in mind. Very interesting. I still think we´ll have to see the nominees first. They very often give it to the unexpected album nobody thought about before the nominations. Oh and btw when I say chances and all that I´m talking about the MAIN categories. Yes Lemonade can (or any other) get tons of nominations or wins in the secondary categories (usually Beyponce´s case), but teh real deal are the main categories and nobody is going to convince me that winning 7 grammys in one night in the R&B fielf (or any other) is bigger than winning Album of the Year or Record of the Year. Just no. I know beyonce wants that, and her fans too. Because deep inside every pucking body knows what the real deal is. Cheers!

      • Anne November 7, 2016

The Grammys are inconsistent and unpredictable but I do feel that “Lemonade” has a better chance than “Beyoncé” did. My comments focus on the music only and not the film. “Lemonade” is more diverse due to the genre blends with country, blues, rock, trap, hip hop, raggae and r&b of course. Also it’s more thought provoking and social/political conscience with songs like “Freedom” (“I’m a keep running cause a winner don’t quit on themselves”) “Formation” (empowering gender and race wise) the “Becky with the good hair” line in “Sorry” that brings to light the whole good hair vs. bad hair debate. It also tells a story from insecurity and suspicion, to realization, acceptance, finding self worth, and forgiveness, so it’s a much more cohesive album. The album also contains a lot of metaphorical messaging and has higher critical acclaim than “Beyoncé”. She also coproduced every song this time. Universities had studies on the marketing aspects of “Beyoncé” but with “Lemonade” professionals focus on the content and metaphors that I must admit went right over my head at first. The fact that she’s already lost in the category twice also increases her chances in my opinion. Who knows what will happen but I definitely think she has a much better shot at it this time.

    • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler November 7, 2016

I think that it has a better chance. Mainly because in my opinion, it’s a better album. It’s also universally acclaimed. If Taylor swift’ s bubble gum pop music can win aoty, then I think that Lemonade might actually stand a chance …..but who knows

      • JOHNVIDAL November 7, 2016

Don´t mention Taylor Swift cause that´s the biggest grammy joke of all time 🙂

      • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler November 7, 2016

        Lol agreed

    • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler November 7, 2016

Wanna hear another joke? The navy genuinely believes that Anti will win AOTY lol. What do you think about that?

      • cocobutta November 7, 2016

Kudos to the question posed, points made and replies to it.

I was going to add view but thought just give credit where it’s due. ???

  17. Tru Voice November 7, 2016

Good for her!!! Hope she gets nominated and wins one. I’m surprised she didn’t put forth “Sorry” for a nomination.

  18. BeyGood November 7, 2016

Bey is doing the damn thing this era. I am so proud of her. She really is the reigning QUEEN

  19. Cold November 7, 2016

So does Solange take best best traditional R&B Album then?

  20. Career Ender November 7, 2016

she can win Best Rap Performance. ..she performed the hell outta that song at the VMAs
    .
vocals and stage presence on 100

  21. Theman November 7, 2016

Nope. Adele!! She has better songs. Beyonce progressed in sound. But Adele has that classic sound. Beyonce’s visuals took her album to the next level. ‘Formation’ is a decent record. But the visual brought it to where it was. Also, a lot of people kiss her a***. As far as impact goes, everyone isn’t on her train.

    • RihYonce November 7, 2016

Adele album was boring honey. Beyoncé brought more versatility unlike Adele who’s been doing the same thing since 2009. Beyoncé brought something fresh, made a bigger impact the only thing Adele had over Beyoncé is sales which the Grammys don’t care about sales

  22. Tim Brown November 7, 2016

These songs will more than likely not be played years to come nor remembered. Records like Thriller and All of Me will though…??

    • Career Ender November 7, 2016

and nobody will know you after this attempt at shade. but carry on to infinity and irrelevance and beyond!

  23. Mark111 November 7, 2016

Anti will win AOTY, these lil categories are meaningless.

    • Career Ender November 7, 2016

they MIGHT give her Best Urban Contemporary

    • HailLegendBeysus November 7, 2016

Auntie isn’t even a thought in AOTY talks. Adele, Beyoncé and Drake a sure lock on AOTY nominations BOOKMARK ME! Solange, David Bowie and RadioHead all released better and more stronger bodies of work than Canti!

  24. Cinnamon Girl November 7, 2016

Welp. She’s trying different things. Nothing wrong with pushing yourself

  25. HailLegendBeysus November 7, 2016

Queen and she will be placed in all 13 categories she asked for! Just wait and see! I hope she walks away with at least 5!

    • S****** Blonde November 7, 2016

Of course, after the Grammys receive the check.

      • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler November 7, 2016

Right, because black artist can’t earn their success the right way….they have to pay for it *ROLLS EYES*

  26. Keri Qween November 7, 2016

    Lol

    • Surprise..(DEC 2013) November 7, 2016

IKR…KERI’S ALLEGED MUSIC CAREER MAKES ME LAUGH TOO.

  27. S****** Blonde November 7, 2016

She’s so pretentious with those submissions, you can tell that she really thinks that she’s all that. I wouldn’t be surprised if she wins everything, the Grammys loves those checks, every praise this era has been bought and paid for it.

    • Surprise..(DEC 2013) November 7, 2016

Do u have proof of this checks to the grammys or are u just talking out of ur WHITE SUPREMACIST ass once again??? How the hell is she pretentious?? she made a damn rock song where do u want her to submit it, the RAP categories or the r&b categories???? AGAIN, STOP HATING ON BEY, THIS WOMAN DOES NOT BOTHER ANYBODY AND MINDS HER DAMN BUSINESS.

    • Amerikkka’s Most Wanted ~ Tyler November 7, 2016

No, you’re getting Beyonce confused with a certain other female artist this era. All of Lemonade’s success was EARNED, not BOUGHT *sips tea*
