All roads lead to 2017 for Sevyn Streeter.
It’s been the longest journey for the R&B belle, but said date will bring with it the release of her debut studio album ‘Girl Disrupted.’
In an unorthodox, but altogether refreshing move, the star has offered a song (and video)-a-month in the run-up to the LP’s release.
The latest is titled ‘Before I Do.’
Playing at a slower tempo than predecessors ‘Prolly’ and ‘D4L,’ the cut awaits your listening after the jump…
What the track lacks in production theatrics, it makes up with its vocal performance.
Thus far, Streeter has showcased a variety of musical tones and textures. We look forward to the album.
This is where she shines. These straight up R&B joints that have a bit of 90s throwback sound. Her modern stuff is cool, but THIS sound is what will set her apart from all the other R&B chicks out.
I couldn’t agree more. Wishing the best for Sevyn.
@BCinKs
This is by far her best record she has released from this album! This should have been her lead single… sounds like a hit I just wish the chorus was a bit stronger!
Yes Aaliyah & Ronald isley
I could totally hear Aaliyah on this
She sounds so beautiful on this track.
? THIS IS THE CENTRE PIECE OF WHAT WE NEED FROM SEV.
Stripped laid back with sweeeeeet vocals.
Core R&B sounds loves her vocal.
Shout out to @ Dawn comment catching on to the “At Your Best” (Let Me Know) vibe.
I’m totally her for Sevyn. She reminds me of a modern day Karyn White. Can’t wait for January 27.
Yes!
Ok Sevyn! this is good. it’s too bad radio won’t play songs like this anymore
This record is really cool!!!! Sevyn Streeter did incredible and I think people need to check her out! The production is very melodic and I want this record to get promoted!
Timeless!
This is about the fourth or fifth time that she’s proven that she can create timeless music. Ariana Grande’s the way, her song “it won’t stop”, “all the way home” for Tamar, and now this. She’s god given.
This what I’ve been waiting for !!! Yesss SEVYN!
More of THIS.
Nice song
This is a nice track, but we know this girl can sing. In addition to this type of material, I’d like to hear bigger ballads and more energetic uptempos from her.
