‘The Breakfast Club’ Grills Chrisette Michele On Donald Trump Endorsement

Published: Wednesday 25th Jan 2017 by David

Chrisette Michele has taken to ‘The Breakfast Club’ to explain why she felt compelled to endorse President Donald Trump by performing at his inauguration.

Still under fire for performing for him after remarks he made about people of colour, those with disabilities and women, Michele hoped to throw fresh light on the matter with a conversation held on the radio platform.

Will you understand her reasons after tuning in?

Watch below…

Originally I was supposed to perform directly after his first speech, and I had done that with Barack Obama before, so I was used to that kind of experience. And the woman who organized the event came and told me, “Now you’re going to go first and he’s going to go after you.” I looked her in the eye and said, “My family has disowned me. If you decide to Google me, you’ll see that America is writing about me in their newspapers. I’m the black poster child for discord right now, and he’s not going to shake my hand?” So no, I didn’t get to meet him.

Your thoughts?

The black community does NOT buy her records or go to her shows, so she figures she WOULD SELL her soul to the devil and the EVIL vice-president. Wicked. She is disgusting and Banned in my household. These people HATE people of color and she sells her soul to promote them.

    • Biting Truth January 25, 2017

      You are immensely retarded.

    • Cory January 25, 2017

I’ll be the first to say. I don’t mind her music. So that’s a positive thing. However, she should be real. She probably needed the money and she sold out. All money isn’t good money. I understand her point of view to an extent, but she sold her soul and the people that gave her a career. I thought she would be above it, guess not.

  2. ???????Chile, take this “Itty Bitty Piggy” to the market and make sure you hold her hand while crossing the street!??????? January 25, 2017

Singing for Barack has NOTHING to do with performing for Trump, so she definitely tried it.

  3. MUSICHEAD January 25, 2017

I still can’t believe anyone in Donald Trump’s camp knew who Cassette Michelle was! Or that they actually paid her. Kaia would’ve only charged $20 and a pack of cigarettes to do My Neck My Back since Donald likes to grab em by the…

Cassette Michelle there’s nothing that you can say to justify performing for Satan. You thought people didn’t support you at first, but now you’re about to really see how much of a flop you are.

  5. Cough Cough January 25, 2017

I mean we have “love and hip hop”, worldstarhiphop, mediatakeout and a bunch of other highly embarrassing negro cultural references we can just add this debacle to the list.

Cha is talking, yet he was saying the same thing about having a conversation when he went out his way that that Tami Trill a month a go. We live in a 2 week attention span. She did it for promo, it’s as simple as that. And she’s free to do so. And I know her her fan base are majority of her fan base and I don’t think she lost anything. People are free to do as they please, we as Black people are not all hooked to the same brain server and think the same, it’s OK to have different options.

She don’t even believe what she said… she still denying that she didn’t do it 4 the money! Any ways her 15 minutes will be up soon!

Is Steve Harvey’s career over? Stop letting black men tear us down. Ms. Charlamagne would never come down on a black man. Stop feeding him unnecessary juice when you see it’s dripping down the side of his mouth.

      • Janriah Houxton-Blige January 25, 2017

Bytch shut your pvnk a** up. You sound like a wimp.

      • Jasmine January 25, 2017

Don’t blame this on black men. Cassette Tape asked to be on Charlamagne’s show. The only one who needs to “stop feeding unnecessary juice” is Cassette Tape.

  8. Lala January 25, 2017

Well it doesn’t matter what you have to say anymore Casette Wontsale, u did this to yourself sis

  9. Lesha January 25, 2017

Why are black men disrespecting black women. This is almost like a black male s**** getting mad at his wife for letting the s**** master r*pe her. If we can’t be there for our women, who else will.

    • I’mSMH January 25, 2017

What about the white b******-in-chief that disrespects all women yet she sold her soul ti perform for? Sorry, you don’t get to blame Chrisette’s bad decision & pitiful justification on black men when its white men that are currently in the process of taking away women’s rights.

    • Jasmine January 25, 2017

    • A&R January 26, 2017

The day you all realize that a person’s s** doesn’t protect them from criticism is the day s*** like… “why men are disrespecting women” will stop being shared. Women and men have emotions. Because the average male is physically bigger and stronger than a female, it’s wrong for him to physically assault her. That doesn’t save females from being addressed all together. If a man could be grilled for this… so should a woman. If you want equality accept it on all fronts. P**** or d***.. foolery is foolery. Period. Stop dehumanized men because of their penis.

  10. PopASquat January 25, 2017

That Was A Great Interview. I Believe Everything Chrisette Michelle Said. Chrisette Did The Inauguration To Use The Trump Platform & Sung Under Our Behalf & Relay The God Is In Control Message To The Other Folks Who Believes Otherwise. Whoever Decides To Ban Her From Anythin’ Doesnt Know Who She Is Or Wht She Stands For.

    • Jasmine January 25, 2017

Don’t be fooled. If Casette really cared about delivering a positive message she would have either donated her earnings from the performance to a black charity or performed at the Women’s March in DC instead. She is a coooon and don’t be mad at people for seeing her for the coooon she is. Even Trump recognized her as a cooon not worthy enough to even shake his hand or thank her for her services. Casette played herself and I will never buy anything she puts out again.

  11. RalphyBaby January 25, 2017

Y’all look for any reason to drag somebody. Chrisette wasn’t selling before and she won’t sell now. Most of her fan base isn’t of social media she anyway. I’m tired of hearing about this. It’s old news.

  12. Kenny January 25, 2017

    Trump and his lynch pen
    wants to eliminate these agencies

The Office on Violence Against Women
    The Minority Business Administration
    The Economic Development Agency
The Office of Community Oriented Policing Services
    The Legal Services Corporation

To assist in building 10 o 12 billion wall. CONGRATS TO ALL THAT VOTED. GREAT JOB

Who is he after? Minorities and Low Income – They all going to hell in a tiny hand basket.

  13. JEC2 January 25, 2017

Chrisette Michele is not intelligent. This proves it. She is delusional and entitled. Celebrities don’t get personal invites to protests…..

  14. Fashion Icon January 25, 2017

    Who ? Nobody cares

  15. MusicLife January 25, 2017

In with the people saying who? I know of her name but couldn’t sing, hum, or tell you the name of any of her songs.

So I can see why she did it, for paycheck and press because she never got it before.

  16. SMH January 25, 2017

She needs to just stop trying to justify her bs and move on. Each ridiculous excuse is just making her look more and more clueless. The fact that he didn’t even shake your hand or thank you for performing should have given her a clue by now.

  17. Steven January 25, 2017

So many ignorant and racists comments from black folks, yet you claim Trump is the problem? Racism was alive within the black community before Trump came along, it is so sad to see a community attempt to destroy one of our own (Chrisette) , when we have so much work to do as a people. If the black community stopped hating on each other we could start a real revolution…. a revolution of LOVE! WE have the power to change others opinions if WE stand up and come together!

    • Jasmine January 25, 2017

No one wants to “destroy” Casette. She brought the dislike all on her own. No one is going to support someone’s efforts to be a pawn for racist Trump and you cannot label people as “racist” for not supporting Casette Tape. Everyone (regardless of color) has the right to decide who they like, support, or dislike. Period.

  18. Linear January 25, 2017

Black people need to stop assuming that every black person is monolithic in their thinking, views and politics. Trump got more black votes than any Republican presidential candidate in 20 years. He got 50% of women and 30% (which is almost half) of Hispanics. If Trump only had the support of White men, which is what the media likes to spin, he wouldn’t have won. The people who can’t reconcile that other people like them supported this man do the most when it comes to deflecting this uncomfortable truth.

Far as Chrisette Michele goes, she had next to nothing to lose from this. Black folks weren’t supporting her before Trump. When was the last time you heard a Chrisette Michele song played at urban radio, or saw one of her songs on any black music chart? Hell, when was the last time TGJ even posted news about her? So posturing and acting like you’re going to “shun” her for daring to do something you don’t approve of means what, exactly? LOL@peoples delusion of grandeur. You can’t hurt her. CM never had as much press as she did last week and her career today isn’t any weaker than it was a month ago.

  19. Walker January 25, 2017

This scrutiny is stupid. No one HAD to watch her perform at the inauguration. She didn’t endorse Trump as a candidate during his campaign and her not performing wasn’t going to prevent him from taking office. People are acting petty and irrational about this now. You didn’t like the election result? Okay. There’ll be another election in 4 years. In the meantime, you don’t get to bully and browbeat others who aren’t as pissed off about Trump as you are. This kind of extreme overreaction is part of the reason why he won. People supported him to SPITE people acting like this and the more it’s kept up, the more people will continue supporting him just to keep spiting you. It’s over. Move on.

    • Tim Brown January 25, 2017

      This

    • Jasmine January 25, 2017

Since when did not liking or supporting someone become “bullying”? Weak biitches with whiney comments say a bunch of BLAH that is all just nonsense.

  20. Tim Brown January 25, 2017

Whats the difference between Eartha Kitt at the WH back in the day? I bet black twitter would of harassed her for going around those racist white ppl then as well! SMH Leave CM alone man!!!

    • Jasmine January 25, 2017

If you are going to bring up history get your facts straight first idiot. President Johnson blacklisted Eartha Kitt and had the CIA spread rumors about her activism and personal activities. The news outlets also covered the verbal clash, for which Kitt drew praise and criticism. Kitt relocated to Europe where and her career continued and flourished, with stops in Asia as well.

  21. ImaMessyBitch January 25, 2017

If she not hungry for money then that bad weave is thirsty and dry af looks like its well pass the 1 year mark

  22. Cbeylive January 26, 2017

The Obama performance was free I’m assuming and trump had to pay her. if I’m understanding her right.

  23. A&R January 26, 2017

Here’s the issue ppl… racism has been around for longer than we can mentally deal with. And when you accept that racism is a form of evil and evil has to exist in order for us to appreciate good… you’ll be able to accuratly asses what the fight needs to be. I’m still not sure what Chrisette intentions are but they don’t matter. I’m upset with her because I assumed she was smart enough to know that what she did wasn’t helpful and only makes her and the black community like just like the old helpless slaves of the past. A child knows that it’s nearly impossible to change the character of a person, let along an nearly dead adult. Trump and his staff are soon leaving this earth. Ain’t much hanging they will do. To think that one vocal performance and a dress will start to dethread the cultural defects of America is plan insane. If only she looked deeper and see that for every major step America takes forward the power that be take us back. Racism will never stop because our efforts directly… it’ll die over time with the hearts of our kids creating love and marriages that give birth to a blood racially connected country. We won’t live to see that. Right now the fight should be for balance, respect, and a seat at the table. And that can be done without stooping or trying to see if our experiences are the same. They don’t care about that and the way humans, in general, are designed, they / we won’t ever truly care about it. Stop wasting time and energy on s*** that won’t make a difference. It’s simple. Stay your ass out them people house and faces because you can’t wash anyone’s character clean. That… ” I want to know for the sake of knowing” is too costly. F***, she looks really ignorant to this. Our black ppl are so lost. It’s scary. It truly is.

  24. AJ January 26, 2017

It sounds like she got played. She was thirsty for the exposure and thought it would be like when Obama got inaugurated. Bad decision all round really – everyone knows they only asked her so that they could appear to be supportive of the black community.
