Janelle Monae (below) has revealed that Kim Burrell has been denied access to ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show‘ after she launched a Bible-based assault on gay men and women.

Burrell was enlisted to support Monae‘s new movie ‘Hidden Figures’ by performing on its soundtrack.

Alas, after leaked footage saw her condemn “the spirit of homosexuality”, she learned that she scheduled promotional appearance on ‘Ellen’ had been axed.

Monae broke the news.

I came to tell you about sin. That sin nature… That perverted homosexual spirit, and the spirit of delusion and confusion, it has deceived many men and women… You as a man, you open your mouth and take a man’s penis in your face, you are perverted. You are a woman and will shake your face in another woman’s breast, you are perverted.

Do you, like many in the religious community, feel Burrell is being unfairly punished?

Bit*h bye. This is what’s not going to happen in 2017. Big ole hypocrite. Glad Ellen did the right thing. Stop spreading hate especially when you need gays to help put food in your mouth.

Media: It’s ok to give platforms to the alt right /white supremacists. Freedom of speech. Media: How dare she express her opinion.” Who gets to decide what is and isn’t covered by freedom of speech? Who decides that it’s ok to bash Mexicans but not ok to bash gay people?

    • Weaveney January 3, 2017

Girl, pick yourself up, and deal with the damn issue at hand. If the issue is with the media, take it up with them. Start your own damn campaign.

In this case, y’all should know – freedom of speech is NOT unlimited. For example, there are LIBEL laws and HATE SPEECH laws. While Kim bordered on the latter, she didn’t commit this crime – but she DOES need to face the consequences of what she said.

    • Anne January 3, 2017

Sure she has the freedom to say whatever she pleases but she better be prepared to deal with any consequences also allowed under the law and constitution. She’s free to speak and Ellen is free to pull her from her lineup and the public is free to respond as they see fit.

  3. Question January 3, 2017

I don’t agree with Kim but didn’t we have an entire year of white supremacists justifying their racism on the same platforms people want Kim banned by?

    • Anne January 3, 2017

What does that have to do with this? Two wrongs don’t make a right. I hate when people change the subject and use one example of hate to try to minimize, justify, or divert from another one.

  4. BobbYonce January 3, 2017

I wanted her to go on the show so she and Ellen could discuss what she said. To be honest, people need to see that God and the man made establishment that is the Church aren’t the same thing. Go straight to the source.

    • Meme January 3, 2017

She can go on another platform to discuss her feelings. Maybe the Wendy Williams show or something, NOT Ellen. 1st of all Ellen is gay and has a huge gay following, she doesn’t need to jeopardize her success for an interview with a nobody. Kim didn’t think before she went and act completely reckless, now she can take that mess somewhere else and figure it out. it would be very uncomfortable for Ellen to interview someone who has pure hatred to her kind.

      • Josh January 3, 2017

Wendy is not going to Kim come on her show either out of respect to her gay fans

      • Al January 3, 2017

Ellen is too classy for this s***. Auntie Wendy would come for this b****’s scalp.

    • XYZ January 3, 2017

Oh yes, then go to the source and speak to god. Oh wait…no one has ever, cause god is an invention by the men who created church. When will people understand that god and religion itself is just the oldest business model as well as power model to suppress others…

      • Anne January 3, 2017

I agree. If you go straight to “God” you will hear nothing but crickets unless you have a really good imagination.

  5. Kimk January 3, 2017

I wished that she could go on, because the problem will not be resolved until we sit down and speak together on the issues.

    • Keith January 3, 2017

I can dig that, but ELLEN is NOT the forum. TD Jakes’ show, the Breakfast Club, the Donnie McClurkin show – perhaps one of those forums would be more appropriate.

    • Weaveney January 3, 2017

Well, clearly, Kim thought the issue was resolved when she did that apology! #BOOP

  6. martin miller January 3, 2017

    I support Kim Burrell!

    • Hefty Ain’t My Thang January 3, 2017

You have some mighty strong shoulders.

  7. Beyoncé Jackson January 3, 2017

It’s one thing to disagree with the gay lifestyle. I get it, all religions do. But what Mrs Burrell did was spew HATE! Her sermon/rant didn’t have an ounce of love in it. How dare she disrespect her core following. Then her words about Bishop Long were just as evil. Mrs Burrell, you just missed out on any chance at going mainstream. You’ll forever be performing in storefront churches. I never liked her anyway. ?

    • Meme January 3, 2017

      My exact feelings. Spot on!

  8. Jec2 January 3, 2017

Kim has the freedom of speech for her hate….and so do the rest of us that live without judgement and are more focused on the loving aspect of God. And we say, f*** you. She probably made some gay Christian kids that worshipped her feel even more desperate, unloved and pushed deeper into the closet. Really not here for it Kim. GURL BYE.

    • BobbYonce January 3, 2017

Good point! She spoke from a place of hate and not love. I wonder if she feels as strongly about dead beat dads and priests who steal from their congregations and call it “tithes”

  9. Ibrahim January 3, 2017

GO ELLEN! Kick that h** ass out. TV and all media should be platforms to spread only positivity and conceal, and that starts with the people that get the spotlight on them. Bye for good Kim Boorel, I used to like your music but all of the sudden I erased from everywhere.

  10. Hefty Ain’t My Thang January 3, 2017

F*** Burrell, f*** her music and f*** her stupid film. She gets not a dime from me.

    • Keith January 3, 2017

WAIT….It is NOT Kim Burrell’s film. She doesn’t even appear in the movie but simply sings on one song on the soundtrack. Let’s not throw the baby out with the bath water (as the saying goes). I will SUPPORT Janelle, Taraji, and Octavia…

  11. Myownstan January 3, 2017

I’m glad she got the boot although it would have been cool for Ellen to ask her her reasonings and watching the bish squirm out of it

    • Teflon Boy January 3, 2017

The reality is, she wouldn’t have squirmed she would have been as slippery as people like her usually are. Professing love thy neighbour and all that ‘I accept gays I just don’t agree with it’ BS that people with straight privilege get to spew when they need a donkey to kick.

      • Myownstan January 3, 2017

I agree with you I also think nothing will be learned from this she will still have those opinions but maybe she will be less vocal about them. I believe in free speech but as a gay man it doesn’t feel good when someone tells me the way I live my life is perverted. To me her views are perverted

  12. Weezy Tha Goat/Zayn is ? January 3, 2017

Would Ellen be so quick to boot her from her show if she was a racist? While I don’t agree with Kim it’s her opinion.

    • Paulo January 3, 2017

would you dare say the same and ask the same retarded ass question if this was a racism issue and a black presenter booted her from their show?

      • Weezy Tha Goat/Zayn is ? January 3, 2017

        Yes f*****.

    • DaveyBrown January 3, 2017

Did you watch the video? Her “opinion” was nasty & hate filled! I’ve heard several pastors speak out against homosexuality but none were as hateful and graphic as she was.

    • Hmmm… January 3, 2017

Chile, you know this country isn’t outraged by racism. We’ll gladly accommodate you if you hate black people. Who cares? But once you start going after other people, hell is raised. I don’t agree with Kim’s comments either, but the way I see it, This is no different from the publicity Tomi Lahren got on the daily show. Not only did she get the press, she also got pink fluffy cupcakes delivered with care. ☺️

      • BobbYonce January 3, 2017

Okaaaaaaay! That’s what I was saying.

      • Um. January 3, 2017

Where’s the lie? Not only did Trevor Noah send her cupcakes but you also had that self-hating negro, Charlamagne caping for her left and right. Look at the treatment she received. Her “hate filled and nasty” opinions were directed towards the black community, and yet they were entertained. I wonder why. You have to be blind, deaf, and dumb if you don’t see the way that racism is tolerated here, as opposed to everything else. We need to do better.

      • Meme January 3, 2017

I have to agree. I’ve seen at least a handful of people loose their jobs because of reckless racist comments towards black and Michelle Obama. So no, blatant racism doesn’t get a pass either. The key word is BLATANT.

    • john January 3, 2017

Nope it be said we need to hear Why they feel this way,or Maybe they need Counseling Blacks better wake up !!! You get a pass for your rants againts Blacks

      • john January 3, 2017

        Nope!!/It would be

  13. Paulo January 3, 2017

Janelle is NOT here for the negativity whether it’s against LGBT or against Burrell’s sad ass even tho she had it coming. love it!

  14. BEYSTAN_ SINCE 1997 January 3, 2017

Good call Ellen. Oprah had a show about racism and these racist skin heads were guest on her show and they called her a M*****. After that she said that was a big learning lesson for her and she would NEVER allow people use her show as a platform for ignorance or her.

  15. DaveyBrown January 3, 2017

GOOD! That b**** is so arrogant and nasty. She acts as if she’s gods gift when artists like Yolanda Adams and Tamala Mann have surpassed her in every way. I remember watching her on FB Live and she told a fan that she won’t sing for free. Fantasia gets on FB live and sings all the time. Humble yourself b****!

    • Elsie January 3, 2017

FANTASIA DONT KNOW ANY BETTER SHE JUST AS DUMB AS A DOORKNOB, AND FANTASIA TRYING TO GET MAINSTREAM ATTENTION WHICH SHE NEVER WILL, KIM BURRELL WILL MAKE FANTASIA EAT HER DUST SINGING

      • DaveyBrown January 3, 2017

Too bad Kim Burrell’s fat ashy voiced Ass is unknown outside of Mt Calvary Baptist Church. Fantasia is a multi platinum, Grammy award winning artist….something Kim ASPIRES to be. Not even Whitney could make her relevant. Hahahahaha!

  16. Matthew Charlery-Smith January 3, 2017

Christians need to stop relying on the world’s platform to get their ministry and message across; as you can clearly see it’s not reliable. They also must stop collaborating with a bunch of artists who don’t share their beliefs.

Kim was ungracious in her words but her beliefs matched Christian doctrine; homosexuality, in practice, is sin. Some countries execute people for this, in America you’re free to love almost anyway you want. Let’s focus in the major issues and not just the USA.

    • john January 3, 2017

      Thank YOU !!!

  17. Cbeylive January 3, 2017

She was talking s*** about gay ppl. Ellen gay unless I’ve been misinformed. Why would I invite someone to my house who dogs me when they think I’m not listening. She can go on straight talk show host shows tho just not the perverts.

  18. ASHY January 3, 2017

What you all don’t realize is that “freedom” isn’t free. There is always a price to pay. Kim has the “right” to say whatever she wants and have her opinions, but people also have the “right” to react to her opinions. You think gay people are sinners? Great, but people are entitled to their reactions due to your opinions, such as not supporting you, or giving their opinions on your opinions. Think before you speak, especially if you are a celebrity or public figure that counts on support and consumers to get them coins.

  19. Xoxo January 3, 2017

Im glad! No one on this earth has the right to judge anyone. It says this in the Bible. Even if u don’t approve of someone’s lifestyle it’s not your place to jude. You r supposed to love everyone and God will handle the rest. I don’t feel bad for her at all, she seems mean spirited just my observation not a judgement I just get that vibe from her

  20. Real January 3, 2017

To the girl in the Twitter post:
“Freedom Speech” still has exist and you’re more then welcome to say how you feel but just know that there is a consequence to what you say.

  21. @ASAPicon January 3, 2017

Well, Honestly Ive never liked Kims attitude and demeanor.
However, I wont let my dislike for her character cloud my judgement of this situation.

Im glad she will not be allowed to perform on Ellen. And somebody with Kims platform has got to be more wise about their words, There are consequences for your actions. She was ignorant in thinking she could get away with what she said, she is in a business where there are LGBT people all around! So to straddle the fence and play both sides by working with gays, and then talking so hatefully about them is disgusting. and she deserves these consequences. Maybe her song should be removed from the soundtrack as well.

And people need to stop with this attacking “The church” because majority cant tell the difference from Religion & Church! People group it together. Religion has dont the most harm, and people take their hate and anger out on God because of people twisted views brought up in a religious world view.

  22. john January 3, 2017

Christian should take their money and boycott anything with Jonae what ever her name is don’t go see the movie she in but buy Kim’s sound track ummm

  23. Janet Xone January 3, 2017

Tomi Lahren spews racism and gets invited into talk shows. Kim is homophobic and gets booted from talk shows. Is the message here that America prioritises the former over the latter?

  24. Beach House B January 3, 2017

I’m ok with this just as long as we accept that the media is ok with racism but not ok with homophobia. You say it’s good for her to be banned because she doesn’t deserve the platform.Ok. But do you think the families of Mike Brown and Trayvon wanted to see Tomi rationalise their murders on live Tv every night. Don’t be fooled by any of this talk about equality. Some minorities are more valued than others.

  25. Beach House B January 3, 2017

Also. How many people who are happy about Kim’s blackballing signed the petition to have Tomi taken off the air? If you didn’t ask yourself why one is more important to you than the other.

  26. Jasmine January 3, 2017

I think this will all work out in Kim’s favor. Many people that think like her did not know who she is and now they do. She does not need Ellen’s platform. She can book another gig to talk about this issue. Ellen keeps her show light so I doubt Ellen would want to interview her about this. Ellen would just keep it light with a couple jokes and questions about the soundtrack / movie.

  27. dydy972 January 3, 2017

The problem is not her being against homosexuality. The problem is her spreading hate message through her role as as pastor.
She talks about gay people should die in 2017 but cash some checks on the backs of gay artists??
wow, what a great way of living !

  28. Thando January 4, 2017

Freedom of speech is not a one-way street. Your speech elicits responses. Whatever your are free to say, the listeners have a right to say whatever they like in response. Just because you’re at liberty to flaunt your bigotry, prejudice, hatred and intolerance that doesn’t mean such behavior will be suffered or left unpunished. That’s why that racist basketball team owner was banned from the NBA. Its supremely stupid to expect LGBTI members to just take it from religious imbeciles and not do anything, its not the Victorian Era. When people show you who they really are, you must believe them. I didn’t say that Maya Angelou did. Kim is a disgusting, unrepentant bigot who was born bred and marinated to believe that LGBTI are worthless half-breeds and nothing can be done to change that. NOTHING is immune to criticism ESPECIALLY religion. Last time I checked, America was secular NOT theocratic.

  29. Deea January 4, 2017

I don’t believe in God, I do believe that something created this world and that something is probably a woman not a man. I like both men and women but as I believe in evolution, for as people to perpetuate our species’s we need to procreate…And this is possible only between a men and a woman. For animals procreation is important, no bebies = death of the species. for as people is simple. We have technology! So, only from this point of view I bilive being gay is not natural. Sorry for my English 🙁
