Lady Gaga Teases BIG Tour Announcement Following Super Bowl Halftime Show Performance

Published: Monday 16th Jan 2017 by Rashad

Hard to believe we are less than 3 weeks away from the highly anticipated Super Bowl Halftime Show, starring pop superstar Lady Gaga.  The diva – still enjoying the critical success of her latest effort ‘Joanne’ – is reportedly hard at work rehearsing for the spectacle many expect to be one of the biggest the platform has ever seen.

But, with a surprising lack of buzz for the forthcoming showing (compared to the hype preceding the event in years past), Gaga took to Twitter to “confirm” speculation that a huge announcement will follow the February 5th performance at Houston’s NRG Stadium.

Will the ‘Poker Face’ performer play a card similar to Katy Perry, Beyonce, Madonna, and more from the past?

Gaga did not directly make the announcement, but her retweet of a fan’s post (as seen above) is being taken as all the confirmation needed to prepare for a world tour in support of ‘Joanne.’  The frenzy that ensued follows rumors ignited earlier this year that the ‘Bad Romance’ beauty is in fact readying a stadium tour (read more on that by clicking here).

Guess we’ll have to wait until February 5th to find out!

I am living vividly thru gaga at the moment. I just cant wait for her halftime. Ill admit I was 100% onboard with her being selected but I love a good underdog comeback story. I think she really this year into her year.

    • ? + ✈ = ? January 16, 2017

Hope she don’t perform records from Jackie.

  2. HailLegendBeysus January 16, 2017

Tickets starting at $0.50 for one week only!!!

    • Surprise..(DEC 2013) January 16, 2017

The gag is that it still won’t sell out…..I’M SCREAMING.

    • Trina January 16, 2017

      LMAAAAAAOOOOOO !!! You’re a MESS ????? !!! But anyway, love you still ?

  3. Surprise..(DEC 2013) January 16, 2017

Why do i feel like her show will not as be as good as her fans think it will be….

    • Fancy BISH January 16, 2017

That sounds like something Keyshia Cole would tweet before halftime lol

  4. Mr. Ken January 16, 2017

She has to KILL this show. Her career depends on it.

  5. Surprise..(DEC 2013) January 16, 2017

She should have released NOANNE right after her halftime show and then announced the tour also…DOUBLE WHAMMY….Kinda like how GRANDMADONNA did with MDNA album and tour..she sold them as a bundle, which helped her sales at least for the first week. JOANNE almost feels forgotten or uneventful for an album that came out in October.

    • S****** Blonde January 16, 2017

But she did the right thing by releasing this album, if she would have released another pop record that would have been the end of her career, that’s for sure.

      • Surprise..(DEC 2013) January 16, 2017

Yeah..it does not matter what type of album she released. THE HALFTIME SHOW MOMENTUM would have carried out through..plus selling the album with tickets for her tour would have been huge for her. JOANNE is forgotten..and only remembered mainly by her fans

      • JOHNVIDAL January 17, 2017

S****** is right. But he´s not taht type of hater. He´s a wise man (normally). You are the one who only hates with zero reasoning. Releasing soemthing like Joanne was teh right move for her career. She needed a change. And with it she proved that despite the change, she still didn´t flop. I remind you sh has sold pretty much the same amount of copies as Anti at this point of those two albums repective runs. And both Bruno and Abel barely sold more copies first week. She didn´t do bad. Coming from Artpop, another pop album would have been worse for her career. They knew some people were waiting for her flop regardless, so they took teh risk, and it was a wise decision. Especially seeing how she has been embraced by teh industry and her peers in the last 3 years, Jazz album and all. By releasing Joanne first and not doing badly, she has now the chance to build on that first step, with teh Superbowl being a second step, not teh first one. The album will probably have a longer rn than if released after the Superbowl.

Taking a page right out of miss Knowles’ playbook! #unoriginal!

  7. S****** Blonde January 16, 2017

I’m curious about what she’s going to do at the Super Bowl, this is her opportunity to outdo Janet, Madonna, MJ, Beyoncé and everyone who has performed there. I’ll be interesting.

    • Surprise..(DEC 2013) January 16, 2017

      I don’t think she will..but lets see.

    • JOHNVIDAL January 17, 2017

I don´t think she´ll out do them. I have a feeling it will be “different”. By that I mean, they all have done pretty good and are different types of artists. Remember Bruno killed it too. There´s a person she´ll obviously outdo though: Katy Perry 🙂

I’m not sure where I’ll end placing Gaga (as far as my thoughts on her)! Tbh, she’s one of the few artists that I simply couldn’t stand! In the past, I hated ‘The Fame’ and BTW (the album and single)! I only liked song from the ‘The Fame Monster’! I adored ‘So Happy I Could Die’! My main impression of Gaga was that she’s annoying and pretentious and just nasty! Fast forward to 2013 and I never would have expected to appreciate the “flop album” everyone hated (ArtPop)! I honestly don’t care for ‘Joanne’, but the slew of performances over the last year or so have been pretty solid! I actually enjoyed the Victoria Secret performance! I’m realizing that Gaga has talent! I want to see the SB performance and allow Gaga to continue proving herself and showing what’s she made of! I just may come around … Right now, I’m just a spectator that’s open to seeing what she does in this first 10 years of her career! She is slowly gaining my respect!

    • Cough Cough January 16, 2017

If she didn’t gain your respect after her Oscar performance of “the sound of music” , I don’t know what will. That was so amazing and totally left field for pretty much anyone

      • RoyalKev January 16, 2017

It was a great performance! It’s clearly one of her best so far! I think your overall artistry pretty much encompass everything you do (albums, videos, tours, creative evolution, versatility after commercial peaks, longevity, etc)! The first 10 years truly define artists and lays down a foundation! I recognize her strengths! I’m just looking to see what to make up of her now that she’s gotten rid of the gimmicks!

      • Cough Cough January 16, 2017

I totally agree with you on that.

      • JOHNVIDAL January 17, 2017

The Sound of Music performance was an epic moment that opened so many people´s eyes. Albums wise, she´s really proving herself already too, classic great Jazz albujm included. I understand Royal anyway, he´s right with that way of thinking about the first decade of a career. It´s time enough to see what an artist is made of, flops or no flops. Just acknowledging artistry.

  9. Cough Cough January 16, 2017

She’s definitely one of the best performers of this time period in music and more versatile than pretty much anyone on the billboard charts so it’ll be interesting to see where she goes with this

    • JOHNVIDAL January 17, 2017

      I agree.

  10. Setb January 16, 2017

I want GaGa and Madge to be strong, unified icons and give us the Born this Way/Express Yourself mash-up duet for the ages. Best opportunity to show their “beef” is old news and they’ve moved on and support one another and would be an epic tv moment

    • RoyalKev January 16, 2017

I see where you’re going with this, but Gaga really must stand on her own 2 feet before relying on pairing up with legends! It’s still a bit early in her career and I think this SB performance is a great opportunity to add to her defining moments as an artist! This can possibly turn things around and become a highlight in her career if she pulls it off right!

      • JOHNVIDAL January 17, 2017

        Royal
I agree but it is very very probably that she´ll have a guest on stage because that´s the way it is been for years for the show now. Even Bruno, who totally killed it and was in this super sweet moment of his career commercially, had a seasoned artist for a portion of his show.

  11. Surprise..(DEC 2013) January 16, 2017

PRETENTIOUS….DING DING DING, AND WE HAVE A WINNER HERE.

    • JOHNVIDAL January 17, 2017

Haven´t you stopped to think that when you have nothing to say and have zero arguments to offer it is better to not say anything? I´m curious.

  12. King January 16, 2017

I think she’ll give us a good show.
Given to fact where we are now in life and what we like, shes a good visionary so I’m sure we’ll in for a present.
I want the old Gaga back tho.
The gag will be her releasing an album after Super Bowl (Joann pt 2 or Joann love and marriage lol idk)

  13. Fancy BISH January 16, 2017

C’mon Joanne! Slay my whole life while I’m eating some hot wings lol

  14. Mase January 16, 2017

We all know (including her fans) that Gaga isn’t as big as she used to be. This super bowl is the final stamp in her career. If she succeeds she’ll comeback but if she fails… I’m afraid to say there’s no reviving back the Lady Gaga who dominated the world and was even BIGGER than Beyoncé in 2009-2011. Let’s wish her luck

  15. Mase January 16, 2017

Releasing her tour after the Show is genius! It’s the perfect way to sell her tickets and bring back the superstar she once was. Let’s hope the public becomes interested again.

  16. Amanda Brains January 16, 2017

Lady Gaga should retire. Her fake antics are over.

  17. Sam Right January 16, 2017

Yall Better Keep Hope Alive, Its just people who were hard fans are not even excited. People fell in love with her persona.

  18. @ASAPicon January 16, 2017

It will be overrated….She will need a major special guest! Maybe bring out Beyonce and finally perform Telephone (Part 2???) 0_0

  19. Taylor-Swift-To-Find-A-New-Man (Slayty) January 17, 2017

Friendly reminder that Katy Perry’s halftime show remains the most watched in history. The iconic left shark is still referenced today

    • JOHNVIDAL January 17, 2017

Also the most basic. The numbers depend on the match my dear.
