It’s hard to believe the stop/start nature of news and events surrounding Fergie‘s long-awaited second album, ‘Double Dutchess,’ isn’t causing waning interest from even the most diehard “Fergie Ferg” fans.
Reportedly completed in March 2016 – nearly 10 years after its predecessor – rumors circulated the project would drop summer 2016 before being pushed to a January 2017 release. Now that even January is in our rearview, and two Fergie videos with it (see: ‘M.I.L.F. $’ & ‘Life Goes On’), it appears Ferg is trying to convince listeners the project “is still coming.”
Having already confirmed there have been multiple videos shot for a select few of the album’s singles, the 41-year-old singer/songwriter took to Instagram recently to show off her assets and tease the release of one of those visuals. See it inside:
Sigh. At this point, she should just release it and take the losses or drop it all together. The incessant teasing does nothing but frustrate the three people who have been holding on for a decade to hear what she’s cooked up.
There’s no denying Ferg is talented, but be serious. In this musical climate where consumers arguably have their shortest attention spans ever (collectively), it’s not in the average artist’s best interest to release an album months after a single has been dropped – let alone a year (or more).
Here’s hoping this album does see the light of day at some point this year and we aren’t still having this conversation in February 2018.
