As at writing, the diva’s latest effort ‘Joanne’ has blasted into the top 5 of the US store – where it presently occupies the #2 spot.
Elsewhere, ‘The Fame Monster’ has clawed its way to #4; an alternate version of ‘Joanne’ is at #10; ‘Born This Way’ sits at #14, and ‘ARTPOP’ returns to the Top 100 at #80.
It’s worth highlighting that the LPs have all benefitted from a price slash on iTunes which went live in-sync with tonight’s festivities.
And while some may be getting ready to throw their shade grenades, we call it an incredibly smart play from Team Gaga. Especially if she plans to play her classics and sprinkle a little newness into the mix too. With attractive price-points all round, she’ll remind of her heyday slay and introduce her latest material to those who haven’t heard it yet.
With such a strong showing before even heading to the stage, it should be interesting to see the commercial impact after she performs.
