‘Saturday Night Live’ welcomed the soulful Alessia Cara to its stage on Saturday night.
There, as her new album ‘Know-It-All’ continues to pull in modest numbers, the vocalist moved the show’s audience with renditions of ‘River of Tears’ and ‘Scars To Your Beautiful.’
Unfamiliar with Cara? We’re hoping that changes today. For, the 20-year-old offers those who give her music a spin the lyricism, soul and artistry which is often missing from releases churned out by her hit-hungry peers.
She just wants to be beautiful
She goes unnoticed, she knows no limits
She craves attention, she praises an image
She prays to be sculpted by the sculptor
Oh, she don’t see the light that’s shining
Deeper than the eyes can find it
Maybe we have made her blind
So she tries to cover up her pain and cut her woes away
Cause covergirls don’t cry after their face is made
