Lady Gaga’s Post-Super Bowl Sales Spike Continues As ‘Joanne’ Set To Re-Enter Billboard 200’s Top 5

Published: Tuesday 7th Feb 2017 by Rashad

After soaring all up, through, and across Houston’s NRG Stadium at last Sunday’s Super Bowl 51, Lady Gaga has taken similar flight on sales and streaming formats.

Seeing her latest effort, ‘Joanne,’ jump to #1 on iTunes album charts just an hour after her set finished, its latest single – ‘Million Reasons’ – mirrored the move by moseying to the perch of the iTunes singles charts (click here to read more).

Now, analysts are trying to forecast how those numbers will translate to Hot 100 and Billboard 200 placements.  And, if their predictions are on the money, Gaga will be making a serious shakeup on next weeks charts.

Lady Gaga will have at least three albums on Friday’s charts with Joanne, her latest, headed for the Top 5. And “Million Reasons” is looking to become the week’s #1 selling single.

Joanne is looking at a tally of at least 50-55k all in, which would put it in the Top 5 [next week].

At Spotify, the songs performed at Super Bowl LI were up 674% and “Born This Way” was up 1,085%. Gaga’s catalog has seen an increase of 605%.

Word has it by the end of the tallying week ‘Million Reasons’ could sell nearly 140k thanks to a timely $.69 sale at iTunes. The report above follows the Billboard report:

Based on initial sales reports collected for Sunday, the diva sold about 150,000 digital albums and songs in the U.S. on Feb. 5 — an increase of a little more than 1,000% compared to the previous day, when she sold around 15,000 digital albums and songs.

In total on Sunday, Gaga sold over 125,000 song downloads — up about 960 percent compared to the previous day (a little more than 10,000 sold). Further, with just one day of sales, “Million Reasons” scores its best sales week ever.

As of time reported, ‘Joanne’ sits at:

We’re looking forward to see how far the jump is next week.

Okay so I feel like this happens to everyone who performs on the Super Bowl.
Congratulations tho Gaga. But I still don’t like Joanna so.

  2. Delroy February 7, 2017

Seems like its easier than ever to find ways at getting those chart positions nowadays and once again gaga is using it to benifit her chart positions once again

And next week, Joanne will disappear from the top 20. Next!

Go for you Gaga…. Every great diva from Madonna, Whitney, Celine, and Beyoncé has had a slump in their career! If the Super Bowl was the push Gaga needed to revive her career then so be it! Most of you’ll favorite artist have never seen a Super Bowl stage in the first place!

Everyone of Bey’s eras have been successful tho..

      • Chasin Time February 7, 2017

So are going to act like 4 never happened? Kelly had a higher charting song than Bey did that era.

      • Chasin Time February 7, 2017

        *we**

      • The Wig Snatcher February 7, 2017

4 outsold Born This Way and Kelly’s album that year. What’s your point?

    • Lewey February 7, 2017

I didn’t know 1.5 million for an album that she stopped promoting after two months was considered a slump… I guess Rihanna’s whole career is a slump.

      • Cough Cough February 7, 2017

@lewey the term slump references falling and 1.5 million is a considerable slump from the gargantuan that was “I am”. You didn’t know so now you know.

      • Lewey February 7, 2017

Hold up. The slump was not because of the music or anything. It was because she could not perform after her album was out for 2 months. No touring, no award shows, nothing. THAT is the only reason her sales were 1.5 million (in America). 1.5 million is STILL more than what most of her contemporaries do. I wouldn’t call that a slump in her career unless I was a hater.

The .69 cent deal was desperate of her per usual, i hate how she always does gimmicks and tricks to get charting and “successes”. Then also say she couldn’t care less about that stuff ugh so disingenuous of her who is the real Gaga please stand up

    • gina February 7, 2017

you sound like a stupid hater. That .69 promo was already in place on itunes long before the superbowl.
