Mary J. Blige summons the ‘Strength Of A Woman’ on her 13th studio album of the same name.
Due in stores this Friday (April 28th), the set sees the soon-to-be-divorced R&B star bare her soul as she works through life’s hardships.
Getting her promo on ahead of the LP’s arrival, MJB stopped by the Ellen show today to perform the project’s lead single ‘Thick Of It.’

We’ve loved this song since it dropped, hence we’re hopeful it gets a second run of momentum during the project’s push.
Mary’s only mistake was NOT releasing the album during the holiday season when she had just completed tour dates & had released this stellar record to radio. Her theme of the album fit the winter season much more fluidly than it does this spring. I still feel Mary’s embedded audience will support, but I only wish she had capitalized off the MOMENT back in November/December when the news of the divorce was a real, headline story.
Mary’s songs Be Happy, Share my world CD, Love no limit remix, real love, your child, the LOVE I NEVER HAD so such promise and emotion. With this cd it sounds forced. Totally Forced. Her last 3 cd’s have been a let down.
