Calvin Harris Taps Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Future, & More For Newly Announced Album

Published: Tuesday 9th May 2017 by Sam

Calvin Harris has been heating up the airwaves with an array of new music. Yet, until now, little had been divulged about an attached album.

All that changed moments ago when Scottish hitmaker formally announced new LP ‘Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 1’ (due June 30th).

Aptly titled, the project houses previously heard collaborations with Frank Ocean and Migos (‘Slide’) and the Ariana Grande, Pharrell, and Young Thug cut (‘Heatstroke’). Both of which boast similar funk-driven sound.

Per the LP’s announcement video, it’s been confirmed that other major names will feature on the set including Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Kehlani, Future, and John Legend.

Check out the clip and full list below…

  • Frank Ocean
  • Travis Scott
  • Kehlani
  • Future
  • Pharrell
  • Katy Perry
  • Big Sean
  • John Legend
  • Khalid
  • Migos
  • Schoolboy Q
  • Ariana Grande
  • Young Thug
  • D.R.A.M
  • Nicki Minaj
  • Lil Yachty

**************

An eclectic list.

What’s more, a few names on it are in need of the size of hit Calvin is accustomed to producing. So the months ahead should be quite interesting.

Another white person exploiting black culture for profit!

He’s still making dance music and is just using black artists. Nicki’s music with Guetta has not been black culture at all. But whatever, ya’ll never be satisfied. Would have been hell on earth if he would have announced with just white features, but if he uses black features that’s not ok either…

Exactly, I love my people but we can be extra sometimes.

Yeah because Migos and the other mumblers are bringing so much to black music. #whatever

He’s simply trying to score hits.

Of cause he does. That’s his job…

        Of course

I have to admit that I’m surprised Tinashe’ didn’t make the album. He probably gave her tack to Ariana or Kehlani.

If the song playing in the background is anything to go by..issa vibe ! I’m anticipating it.

Don’t think it’s the sound he’s going for this time around..which is why she isn’t on it
