Comeback Trail: Ciara Registers New Song

Published: Wednesday 28th Jun 2017 by Sam

Ciara says she wants to make the world dance with her new music and it appears as though it may be coming sooner rather than later.

The singer gave birth to daughter Sienna Wilson in April, but had been hard at work on the follow-up to 2015’s ‘Jackie’ in the months preceding.

Until now, little was known about the album – which is her first for new label Warner.

However, the following sprung up on the ASCAP website this week. It’s an entry for a brand new song named ‘The Only Na Na.’

Ci’s label-mate Benny Cassette is listed as the primary writer:

For those who’ve not heard of Benny, his material kinda knocks:

It’d be hot hearing Ci ride a beat like this.

We’re buzzed. Are you?

Yeah, right. She keeps getting all these “comeback” chances and fumbles every time. At this point, who even remembers the last time she was considered a hit maker? How does she keep getting signed by these labels? I’ve seen artists who have flopped less times than her still wind up at E1. Her record deals must be worth about the same as what a sales person at Footlocker earns per hour. I can’t think of any other explanation than she’s willing to work for free.

I Bet went platinum and BP went Gold. And I Bet and Dance Like Were Making Love were VEVO certified so I say that’s pretty good for her.

As long as her music this go around has more substance, then I’m good.

        @J.

        Yeah… off streams NOT SALES!

Body party is platinum too …, It’s impossible for a song to go platinum and gold off of stream …those songs were hardly streamed compared to ppl like rihanna and Beyoncé …ciara keeps the haters mad

Ciara is an incredible performer. I feel like she doesn’t have to continue to do music. She should just take her catalog and do Vegas. Ciara would be great in Vegas. An Vegas residency would be great for her especially now that she is married and a mother of two. She doesn’t have to worry about being on the road all the time. And Ciara should just drop singles. Her singles does quite well. It’s just her albums that aren’t selling like they once was in the beginning of her career. The singles route would be better than putting out albums.

Registering a single song on ASCAP is NO indication of anything. It is simply registration and does not mean the song will ever see a release and it also does not mean Ciara is the artist it will go to, if it goes to anyone at all.

Ciara is one of the r&b women artists to have longevity. People have always swore up and down she won’t be able to have maintained but she always prevail. She’s had her difficult trials but what artist didn’t? And for her to keep making records for her fans despite the bird chirping naysayers is what I’m prepared for these people that don’t support her but always have something to say about her career. If you haven’t supported her that’s fine. But for me being a supportive fan and noticing her growth over the years as an artist gets me very excited. She has sold albums and hit singles. She got a grammy and to be thankful that she accomplished a lot in her career that’s all it matters. Now this current of records I want to notice how she’s going to bring the heat. I’m concerned with the promotion and for her to move to another label that has her interest and support is speaks volumes. To be honest Ciara has been one of the electrifying entertainers of her generation. And I think the general public have tried to overlook her because of the politics and nonsense. She’s another black artist that deserves to shine. She’s really in her own league and despite her having difficulty in certain points in her career she still keeps going and I’m ready for Ciara to “black bag that stage” and slay. At this point I’m ready for her to slay and it’s overdue. Ciara I’m ready for that new material! #C-SQUAD

Right I’m not a die hard Ciara damn but I like a few of the songs she has put out & I live for her tones!! The same way folks ride for RI-Whine-A flat alto tones all these years…?

Model with a microphone. Should have never received a contract to begin with.

    • 4everBrandy_Ci June 28, 2017

Of course a pressed mofo enters my mentions. “Model with a microphone” is tired and the slick comments about my Queen is obvious. #C-SQUAD

    No.

I hope Ciara fans know that when she releases the new single she has to upload that either on her own Youtube Channel (Not the VEVO one) or make a new one since Warner Music doesn’t really have a partnership with Vevo yet.

    Kind sucks!

I pray Warner knows what they are doing in releasing this song, And they need to sort out that Vevo mess. ASAP

I’m so..beyond tired of seeing people, namely on the internet, drag artists like Ciara. Ciara is a go getter. And while you guys sit behind a computer screen and tear down her accomplishments, the funny part is..she’s still ACHIEVING milestones and you guys are still sitting in front of your monitors talking about her. When Ciara was 17 she said at her graduation that she planned on selling a million copies of an album. That was her goal. Within 1 YEAR Ciara accomplished that goal. She can do ANYTHING she sets her mind too, and Ciara is a TOP-NOTCH performer. Shes responsible for 1,2 Step, Goodies, Oh, Never Ever, So What, Get Up, And I, Promise, Like a Boy, Gimme Dat, Speechless, Ride, Got Me Good, I’m Out, Sorry, Body Party, I Bet, Paint It Black (amazing rendition) and sooo much more. And she ONLY has more to come.

Theres more to album sales than just the artist, it takes a team, it takes promotion, it takes marketing, it takes a label who gives you ALL that you need to succeed and not just 30%. I believe that with Ciara now on Warner that she’s gonna get that support.

So you can choose to either be with it, or step aside but Ciara is going to keep climbing to the top regardless and she ain’t worry about the negative energy you guys have to offer because it can do nothing for her.

    Have a great day.
