Drama! Cheryl Slams Munroe Bergdorf Over L’Oreal Race Row

Published: Tuesday 5th Sep 2017 by David

The worst may have happened for Cheryl Cole.

After successfully overcoming the “obstacle” that was “Black B****-gate” over a decade ago, the Pop princess is under fresh fire after the story was reintroduced to the world by Munroe Bergdorf.

In 2003, Cheryl was partying at a club in Surrey, England when she assaulted a 39-year-old African woman named Sophie Amogbokpa, gave her a black eye and according to sources at the scene, called her a “black b****.”

Cheryl denied the name-calling but was found guilty of the crime and, with help from her success in Girls Aloud and her marriage to biracial footballer Ashley Cole successfully buried the scandal. That was…until today.

Why?

Enter Munroe Bergdorf.

Both entertainers had been enlisted to front a L’Oreal campaign championing racial diversity but scandal struck when the company fired Munroe for remarks she made about violence committed by white people against black people on a political and physical front.

The company’s reasoning? Her views weren’t in line with its brand.

Now Bergdorf has used the interview above to ask the company how and why it was able to give her the boot so easily while retaining its commitments to Cheryl.

How the Pop star’s camp has responded to calls for L’Oreal to fire her?

More than 14 years ago Cheryl was unanimously acquitted of a charge of racially aggravated assault. She is disappointed to find her name involved in Munroe Bergdorf’s media interview.

What do you think L’Oreal should do?
