Music’s reigning Queen of Soul was the victim of death rumors, which were perpetuated by various Twitter and Instagram accounts.
With the semi-recent losses of legends such as Prince and George Michael, folk have naturally been on tender-hooks – especially as the murmurs begun to gather momentum.
However, Ms. Franklin is asserting that there’s nothing to worry about.

In an email statement issued today, the 75-year-old said:
“I’m doing well generally, all test have come back good.
I’ve lost a lot of weight due to side effects of medicine, it affects your weight … Thanxxxx for your concern.” [Source]
She was of course referring to her frail look at her last public appearance, an AIDS awareness fundraiser on November 8th [photographed above].
As for the rumors? Disgusting. How and why people see it fit to spread such falsities will forever baffle.
In any case, we wish her the best. There so few authentic legends left, so we sincerely mean it.
