In an announcement to the press, organisers confirmed that the seasoned diva will be presented with the Icon Award at the November 30th ceremony – which takes place at the Ray Dolby Ballroom in LA.
MJB, whose new movie ‘Mudbound’ is receiving Oscar buzz, joins previously confirmed honorees Kelly Clarkson, Camila Cabello, and Kehlani. Pop starlet Selena Gomez has nabbed the coveted Woman Of The Year award.
Speaking on the event, its chief marketing officer Dana Miller said:
“The Billboard Women in Music event was created to spotlight female trailblazers in the music industry. Whether entertaining sold-out crowds or signing the next big artist, the women we celebrate are powerful leaders and pioneers, creating inspirational legacies and opening doors.” [Source]
Needless to say, Mary is wholly deserving!
