Tonight sees Xscape hit the road on their much anticipated ‘Great Xscape Tour.’
The trek forms part of a 360 reunion for the R&B ensemble, who are also starring in a Bravo reality show and prepping a biopic.
Xscape are also recording new music – but not every member will be taking part.
Indeed, as confirmed during a tense interview on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live, Kandi revealed that other commitments will not free her up to record with Tiny, Tamika, and LaTocha.
Nonetheless, the ladies have tapped hitmaker Tricky Stewart (Beyonce, Rihanna) to mould their new material.
And it seems like it’s coming soon.

Taking to Instagram, Tricky shared a lengthy preview of a new song named ‘Dream Killa’

And looking at the group member’s respective tour buses suggests that promo for the track (and another called ‘Wifed Up’) is already underway (peep the last bus):

I kind of agree. Xscape had a few hits but kandi n tiny still being relevant today is whats propelling all of this. They were never really mentioned as much as other girl groups back in the day

I think it’s the opposite. She kept their legacy alive. Because of her media presence and constant reminiscing about the group on shows like housewives, even my mom knows who Xscape is now.
Why is the Scott stisters’ buss the only one that has Xscape on it tho. Smh

Yes I love Xscape and I’m glad they have new music. Dream Killa is sound very good it’s grown and s***. Xscape don’t need Kandi PURGE JOKER FACE A|R|S|E as she is the weakest link in the group. I will definitely support Xscape with or without nasty Kandi.

Sounds fresh and current without coming off desperate and trying to appeal to a market who can careless about Xscape. I want to hear the finished product but so far I like what I am hearing.

The reality is these women are seriously talented but THERE’S NO MARKET for this genre! They better ask Tweet, Tamar, Monica, Fantasia, K Michelle… I could go on. R&B is a genre that has had its day and will live on at family cookouts, graduation parties, and HBCU homecomings. You not making any money, gaining new fans with this genre. You just not! Now, if they were smart they would use this exposure to get a reality show, Wella products deal, etc. Either way, I love the preview single and I always wanna see people do well but I say enjoy the wave while it lasts. it’s not bad, but i feel like the harmony doesn’t sound quite as full without kandi’s voice. whether you like her voice or not, it’s distinctive.
