Alexandra Burke Signs New Record Deal / Readies Comeback Album For 2018

Published: Friday 22nd Dec 2017 by Sam

Alexandra Burke is wasting no time capitalizing on her stellar run on ‘Strictly Come Dancing.’

Indeed, less than a week after reaching the show’s final, it’s been revealed that the British stage-blazer has not only signed a new record deal but is also set to release a new album early next year.

Full story below…

According to Official Charts, the 29-year-old has partnered with Universal Music imprint Decca to release LP ‘The Truth Is.’

Presently pencilled in for a March 2018 arrival, the set will serve as her third album and first since 2012’s ‘Heartbreak On Hold.’

Burke first rose to fame as winner of The X Factor in 2008 and garnered global notability after performing ‘Listen’ with Beyonce.

In the years since, she achieved three UK #1 singles and a Platinum album. More recently, she delved into musicals and earned praise aplenty for her stints in ‘The Bodyguard’ and ‘Sister Act.’

Alex is easily one of the most gifted vocalists and all-round performers to come from this side of the pond. As such, we all sorts of excited to hear what and see what’s on the horizon.

Can’t wait for more music. She has such a goof voice. Hopefully they aren’t still black listing her on the radio.

She was blacklisted??? I need more info,

That’s an old and long story. But yeah during her second era radios didn’t play her even once.
It was over 6 years ago but If I remember good I think it had something to do with her leaving Simon Cowells syco company.

But yeah, Alex has a great voice. I hope that with a good material she can deliver!

She used to be all over the radio in the UK and mysteriously as soon as she left Syco they stopped playing her, even the songs they used to give spins to before. More recently, a journalist who is a friend of Cowell’s was running stories in the UK press saying she was being a diva and throwing tantrums on Strictly Dancing

Decca is a label with no quality acts she’ll be aiming for a Radio 2 market which is good think it will be a big seller album for her no standout singles though just her voice probably 2k size tour venues across the UK after

I hope the music is better cause that’s always been her weak point to me.

Decca? She won’t be bothering the charts at all on that label.

I’m glad she she’s got a new deal and I really want her to do well, especially after the racist bullying she was subjected to in the UK press and social media. But I’m wary as this label is both small and seems aimed at the easy listening crowd. Hopefully, I’m wrong

Wow I actually never heard of who sung this song but I love it hallelujah!!

Decca is a strange choice purely because Alexandra is still young and has the skills of a great singer and dancer and with Decca’s history there doesn’t have that scope to utilise all of her skills unless they are looking to revive the label with her headlining.
I hope that Alexandra gets some of the soul she had in her voice that she showed in the factor auditions but seemed to lose come recording time.
