Hot Shot: Mariah Carey All Smiles With JAY-Z At Christmas Party After Signing With Roc Nation

Published: Tuesday 19th Dec 2017 by Sam

Mariah Carey has plenty of reasons to smile this holiday season.

She’s rocking the charts with a Christmas classic, has been nominated for a Golden Globe, and has new management in the form of Roc Nation.

As widely reported, Mimi severed ties with controversial manager Stella Bulochnikov earlier in the Fall and swiftly inked a fresh deal with the JAY-Z imprint.

Acclimatising to her new business home, the diva supreme was spotted at the Roc’s annual Holiday party with Jigga last night in Los Angeles.

The pair, who have previously collaborated on hits such as ‘Heartbreaker,’ are both in the midst of tours; Jay on the ‘4:44’ trek and Mariah’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ jaunt.

With their new partnership in place, one has to wonder whether we’ll be seeing a musical re-teaming ala this…

it does not matter WHO is “managing” Mariah, nothing will change in the form of her presentation, consistency, chart performance or relevancy in 2018. NOTHING at all will shift or improve by contemporary standards of success. this isnt an opinion.

      ?

Mariah is an old school very talented performer. Just when you think she is done she gets another number one. That is just how it goes. Her voice is gold. Gold never gets old and only improves in value and net worth every year. Signing with Roc Nation for mation is risky but if she has access to their roster of artists for collaborations why not? I can already see a Mariah Carey ft. J. Cole collaboration in the near future.

      • Jasmine December 19, 2017

        management not mation. Typo

The universe is planning something huge for Mariah. This can be her last chance for a comeback. Fingers cross she come out swinging in 2018.

Another label switch isn’t going to save this old ladies Music career. I don’t understand These artist… like sis you a legend. Instead of chasing a dead music career, do legendary ish. Someone as iconic and legendary as Mariah shouldn’t even be still signing to anyone’s label. Even worst, one of her peers label. Chile.

    • taustin13 December 19, 2017

It’s not a label dumb f@&k. Mariah has her own label. It’s called Butterfly MC Records. She also has a contract with Epic Records/Sony. STFU!!
Rihanna doesn’t know that feeling of independence because she signed to both Roc Nation and Jay Zs Label too. She doesn’t write nor produce her own songs. Mariah can’t relate.

      • Jthunder89 December 19, 2017

Actually has her own record label called westbury roard entertainment and she owns all her masters

    • justafan December 19, 2017

      is that you STELLA?

    • Jasmine December 19, 2017

I agree and disagree with you Meme. I agree that Mariah should be following Beyonce’s lead in managing herself through her own company. I disagree that Mariah should be an independent artist because she does not seem to have the ability to market herself correctly even though the girl has always been very money hungry.

    • Stephy December 19, 2017

She’s not signing Jay’s label… She’s being managed by his company. Mariah still with Epic Records

  5. Mace December 19, 2017

Can we change this headline so people are aware that Roc Nation is only MANAGING her, rather than she’s jumped labels? She’s STILL signed to Sony. jeez

    • Mace December 19, 2017

      *Epic, via Sony.

  6. Theman December 19, 2017

Mariah just scored another top ten. So she can do whatever. Secondly, he’s only managing her. Just about all of her music is great. And that’s what matters most. She makes great albums. You people are

you birds clucking your empty beaks tickle me. Mariah is a legend and is doing exactly what legends do….making her money on the back of catalog. who else is doing an INTERNATIONAL tour based on just x-mas songs?? who else is doing a Vegas residency based on just #1 hits….not even the most beloved songs?? when will you chickens learn never to doubt this woman’s business moves. she is about her coin, always. Jay-Z is about his coin. This will work.

People need to educate themselves before they speak because half of these comments are so ill-informed it’s scary. First and foremost, Mariah isn’t signed to the Roc Nation label imprint. She’s signed to her own label via Epic/Sony. She’s working with Roc Nation via their management division…..which is a HUGE management company that reps singers, rappers, athletes, etc. Jay-Z is NOT personally managing Mariah; he started the company but that doesn’t mean that he personally is going to be following her around and taking care of her day-to-day movements as an artist.

    • justafan December 19, 2017

      Educate these fools!

    • Jasmine December 19, 2017

Only one person was gullible enough to think Mariah is an artist on Roc Nation (Meme). You should be criticizing the writer of this article for making the headline and contents seem like Mariah Carey signed to Roc Nation. Here is a direct quote from the article’s contents:

“(Mariah) swiftly inked a fresh deal with the JAY-Z imprint.”

  9. Coolio December 19, 2017

Yeah i dont think this is a good idea at all.
But well see. I mean why didnt she just go inde.

  10. cocobutta December 20, 2017

All I Want from Mariah is to maintain vocal health and keep doing shows. The upturn since Stella left is just a blessing.

  11. Latina chick December 20, 2017

It’s just Sam being Sam, yawn!

  12. Smashing December 20, 2017

Can I ask you guys where you got the photo from? You didn’t credit anyone.

  13. DanYiel Iman December 20, 2017

Hopefully she’s going to get back into her musical ? journey!!

  14. Teflon Boy December 20, 2017

I always thought these two would’ve made a boss power couple.., That aside, I reckon they have another couple of monster hits in them if they can put their respective commitments aside.

    • Jasmine December 20, 2017

Diddy would be a fit for Mariah. Jay-z is naturally controlling and him trying to manage Mariah’s career would cause a problem in a relationship. Jay-z and Beyonce work because Beyonce manages her own career through Parkwood but I do notice that Beyonce has learned a lot of business skills from Jay-z like her work with Tidal, etc.

  15. My2Cents December 20, 2017

Wish Mariah didn’t get managed by Jay Z. Is she not following the Prince Estate lawsuit against Tidal? The latest lawsuit ruling is seeking text messages between Prince, Jay, and Prince’s manager because Prince Estate has evidence the agreement for Tidal to stream Prince’s music was forged and back dated. Ya’ll Google it. Marian better be careful. I hope her family won’t have to go thru what Prince’s are going thru with Jay.

What´s Mariah´s achieving with All I want for Xmas is You is totally unheard of. Memorable. After more than 20 years not losing any commercial steam is not normal not even for the biggest of classics. So deserved. It´s HER song as a lead, it´s her monumental vocals and it´s written by her and only one more co-writer.

    • Jasmine December 20, 2017

I think it is awsome and shows Mariah’s creativity and natural talent of singing and songwriting. However, this is not unheard of. Dolly Parton and several other country singers have seen the coins roll in decade after decade from their songs being played, remade, and charting again and again. Same goes for some of the older R&B songwriters who see the same things happen again and again with remakes, samples, and radio play.

      • JOHNVIDAL December 21, 2017

As big as All I Want worldwide??? Which song? None of those people are big enough outside America as a Mariah Carey to begin with. So this global success year after year is absolutely unheard of.
