UK Charts: Cardi B Scores First Top 10 With ‘Finesse’ / Justin Timberlake Limps To Lukewarm Debut

Published: Saturday 13th Jan 2018 by Sam

Cardi B and Bruno Mars‘ domination with ‘Finesse’ continues on a global scale. Especially in the UK.

Dive below for details…

On this week’s Official UK Singles Chart, the remix of the ’24k Magic’ jam serves as the highest new entry – entering at #7.

The feat sees the track become Cardi’s first UK top 10 and highest peak, easily besting the #24 cap achieved by ‘Bodak Yellow.’

For Bruno, ‘Finesse’ becomes his 11th British top 10.

The pair’s performance sees them continue to outpace Justin Timberlake‘s much hyped “comeback single” ‘Filthy.’

Though benefitting from ample anticipation and media coverage, the song could only manage a #15 debut on the tally.

With both releases arriving with their respective videos (rather than the usual wait), it’ll be incredibly interesting to see where they eventually end up.

Set for a major Grammy showcase, are Cardi and Bruno about to snatch the top spot? Or could JT gather momentum in the run-up to the Super Bowl and finish big? Perhaps both scenarios will play out? What are…

I love the song but you can’t “dominate” unless you’re #1….
It ‘ll soon get there though.

Well yes finesse debuted in top 10 and filthy still has a chance at debuting in top ten. I believe billboard covered maybe 15 possibly in the top 10. So much hate at jt like wtf. He has platinum albums that sold more than Bruno and Bruno has only sold more singles than anything not an album. Filthy is still my jam and watch his album debuts at number 1 no matter how many he sells.

I doubt if this song goes #1 on the US Hot 100 Charts. So many people jumped the gun but even tho the song is good and infectious, something is missing. I do not believe it will have the longevity of Bodak Yellow. This song’s success will be more like Hotline Bling. It will come short of the #1 US Hot 100 spot. The remix seems faddish, like a good memory, but people will get over the warm 90’s hug. (I hope I am wrong.)
