Drake & Bruno Mars Rise As Justin Timberlake Falls On British Charts

Published: Saturday 27th Jan 2018 by David

As far as talent goes, Justin Timberlake remains one of the greatest artists to grace Pop’s courts within the last twenty years.

Unfortunately, it appears that he is struggling to compete with his younger rivals Bruno Mars and Drake who have wiped the floor with him on the British singles chart.

A frustrating scene for JT fans below…

Justin’s new album ‘Man of the Woods’ hits retailers on February 2nd and see him soar towards more organic musical territory with cuts like ‘Living off the Land‘, ‘Breeze of the Pond‘ and ‘Say Something.’

Raining on his parade?

For, after only three weeks on the chart, Justin’s comeback single ‘Filthy’ is slipping and sliding down the Official Singles Chart, landing at #38 after spending last week at #28.

The jam is just three spots away from crashing out of the Top 40 and finds itself cowering in the shadows of Bruno’s smash hit ‘Finesse‘ which stands tall at #6 almost two years after it was first introduced to the critical mass by its parent album ’24k Magic.

At #1? Drake’s surprise single ‘God’s Plan.’

On Justin’s side? His unshaken ability to sell out arenas and move albums the old fashioned way.

However, with Bruno and Drake just as capable of making major waves on a pure sales tip, we have to ask…

Does Justin have what it takes to hold his own against his younger chart-slaying rivals?

Weigh in below…

I don’t think there has ever been any post about Rihanna’s singles doing better than Beyoncé’s in the UK, or any other place for that matter, well, it’s not like Beyoncé’s singles do better than Rihanna’s, not in this world at least, but okay, I’m here for the hate, now playing, Say Something ?

    • Krista January 27, 2018

Stop trying to deflect from the situation, that Justin is clearly flopping. You’ve got some weird bitterness about Beyonce 🙂

      • Truth January 27, 2018

Since when does the UK chart become the standard? Get real I could see if it was Ed sheeran. Justin has been around since 1997/2002 solo.

    • Me Again… January 27, 2018

I’m a huge Rihanna fan, and I like and respect Beyoncé as well, but nice try at trying to pit the 2 fan bases of 2 strong black successful black women in the music business against each other, just because your lame golden boy is flopping from here to El Segundo. Keep playing Say Something…

    • Mark111 January 27, 2018

What does Rihanna and Beyonce have to do with Justin Timberfake flopping and flopping hard.

      • Arron Carter January 28, 2018

JT doesn’t have it anymore. Bruno is sooo much better

    • Your Assets January 27, 2018

When you rip off the past like bruno has you can’t fail, yet? Until the music scene change.
P.S his single “Chunky” floped in europe this is why his resent single was released with a feature.

      • Krista January 27, 2018

He still better than Justin. Period.

      • YO Mama January 27, 2018

We will see 10 years later, when is his next album, you or me don’t know. It depends on the music landscape.

      • ??? January 27, 2018

lmao usher is still polishing off his DIAMOND plaque, his 10 HOT 100 #1 HITS, and his 100 MILLION ALBUMS SOLD that timberb*tch still has yet to match after 15+ years h0. any more questions b*tch? lmmfaooo

      • YO Mama January 27, 2018

Justin Timberlake’s 2020 experience came in with 900K+ first week, and he’s been out 10 years solo. So usher and timberlake are matched. In America, don’t know where your from. But then again there justin bieber? And Ed Sheeran to take there places

I called it a few years ago that his flop is near. His case is a lot like Usher’s,
    .
Huge success, MJ decedents that were younger than their peer rivals, bigger than life album at age 25 (Confessions/FSLS), a huge break after, high expectations on followup album, great sales, ok hits (Here I Stand, 20/20). Now later there’s newer and younger acts coming (Chris Brown/Justin Bieber) making them look old and grabbing their younger audience. Now they’re older, trying out new founds, out of touch with their audience because they now have jobs and the youth ain’t feeling them because there’s younger acts now.
    .
In short, Ed, Bruno, JB and those 1D kids are in Justin’s space, JT never really had competition, some would say Usher, but their releases were so far apart from each other and they both were different enough to operate in different ends of the market. JT is basic, his voice is meh, but stood out, but now, ED and Shawn Mendes uses that same tone, but uses it better. The question is, will JT be able to pull a Beyonce and be able to sell an album without hits. We’ll see.

    • Bertie January 27, 2018

You really have time for this? ??????

    • A Bey Thang January 27, 2018

      Accurate estimation! Loved reading this.

    • Memo January 27, 2018

Pulling a Beyoncé? Y’all acting as if she had a monster selling album when in fact her sales are average at best. Delusional

      • Krista January 27, 2018

He didn’t say that though. Instead of reading things with insecure hate tinted glasses you’ll see he told no lies. Beyonce sold an album with no chart hits whatsoever. So get over it.

    • Truth January 27, 2018

Haha Shawn Mendes is not selling anything yet, It’s just Bruno Mars, Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber ? Justin Timberlake as well as Britney Spears were king and queen of the 2000’s
So justin had a good run how many artists can last 16 years solo on only 4 albums?

      • SMH January 27, 2018

Wrong. Usher was named the most successful male artist of the 2000s, and the ONLY male artist since the 2000s began to have a Diamond selling album. And hes always outsold timberfake twice over, with three times more talent. Face it, timberfake skated by the last 15 years on his white privilege and mainstream America’s selective memory loss when it comes to the last time he appeared at the superbowl. This generation is more woke and aware of exactly how big a phony he is and they’re not letting it slide this time around.
